Bullets here and there

Anne's hands shook as she reached for Carl. She noticed that he was no longer moving and fear gripped her. She couldn't bear to imagine a world without him, and the thought of losing him made her breath come in short with shallow gasps.

"Carl wake up, please wake up" Anne shook Carl's shoulders, her voice breaking as she begged him to wake up.

"Please, open your eyes," she sobbed, her hands trembling as she touched his face. Tears rolled down her cheeks, leaving hot, salty streaks on her skin. She felt helpless and hopeless, and all she could do was repeat his name over and over again, praying that he would hear her and respond.

However, Carl's eyes remained closed and he looked totally lifeless in her arms.

"Boss, the deed has been done. Carl McAlester is dead," The bodyguard said with a look of satisfaction on his face.

"No! No! No!" Anne cried as she heard those cruel words from the bodyguard. She felt like she was drowning in a sea of despair. She could hardly breathe or think, as reality crashed down around her.

Carl can't die just like that and leave her here after promising that he'll come back for her. This couldn't be real.

Anne's thoughts were racing, but she could barely process them through the fog of grief and disbelief. She kept repeating his name as if by some miracle he would open his eyes and tell her that everything was okay. But he didn't move, and her tears fell like rain on his still form.

However, Dr. Ken, who was watching the tragic scene unfold from his laptop, felt only satisfaction. A cold smile spread across his face, and he felt a sense of triumph at Carl's death. He was finally relieved for taking vengeance on the death of his father. And at last, his father's legacy would be secure, and he could move forward with his plans without Carl stopping him.

Dr. Ken felt no pity for Anne, who was weeping over Carl's body. All he cares about right now is having her for himself.

"Hurry up and bring Anastasia to me," the surgeon ordered, his voice filled with cold authority.

"Yes, sir," the bodyguard replied. He gave a signal to his men and they began to advance on Anne and Carl. One of them grasped Anne's arm, roughly pulling her to her feet.

"GET AWAY FROM ME!!" She screamed like a maniac. She was struggling with the men without minding the guns that were pointed at her. Anne was no longer a frightened girl, she was a wild animal, ready to tear apart anyone who came between her and the man she loved.

The men were also struggling to hold onto Anne but she kept resisting and suddenly, a siren sounded in the distance. The bodyguard's head snapped up, and his eyes widened in alarm. The men looked around, their hands tightening on their weapons.

Then, the roar of a helicopter engine filled the air, growing louder and louder. It was coming towards them. The bodyguard looked up, shielding his eyes from the sun to see the aircraft. It was a police helicopter, coming in fast.

Before anyone could react, the helicopter swooped in, its rotors beating the air with deafening force. The side door slid open, and the crack of gunfire split the air. The bodyguard and his men were caught off guard, and the bullets tore through most of his men. In a matter of seconds, they lay motionless on the ground.

The police helicopter hovered overhead, its rotors whipping up a cloud of dust. Meanwhile, Anne was in a daze by the sudden turn of events.

The police had finally come to her rescue.

The bodyguard watched in horror as his men were cut down by the helicopter's barrage of gunfire. They tried to shoot back, but the bullets only ricocheted off the aircraft's metal frame. The pilot banked the helicopter in a tight circle, making it a nearly impossible target. Meanwhile, the police officers opened fire from the open door, picking off the bodyguard's men one by one.

The bodyguard knew that he was in trouble because he was outnumbered. He glanced at the pilot of the helicopter with a determined look in his eyes.

The wail of sirens grew louder until the police cars screeched to a stop at the edge of the field. The NYPD officers poured out of the vehicles with their guns drawn.

Bullets were flying here and there and the sounds of the gunfire were enough to make anyone go deaf. The police officers were methodical and relentless, taking out the bodyguard's men one by one.

It was chaos, a war zone, and in the midst of it all, Anne was overwhelmed. She had never seen anything like this before, and it was almost too much for her to take in. Despite the chaos, she was still holding onto Carl, refusing to leave his side.

Anne felt a glimmer of hope as she saw the police and the helicopter. But when she saw the ambulance approaching, her heart soared. Maybe there was still a chance for Carl, after all.

However, the bodyguard was clueless about what to do. He felt like he was fighting a losing battle. He was down to just a few men, and the police seemed to have the upper hand. He reached for his earpiece, hoping to hear Dr. Ken's voice to give him advice on what to do.

"Hello boss, can you hear me?" he asked, his voice shaking with fear. But there was no response.

"Boss, can you hear me?" he asked anxiously but the silence was deafening, and the bodyguard felt more alone than ever before. The earpiece in his right ear was silent, and the bodyguard knew what that meant. Dr. Ken had disconnected the call, breaking their connection to protect himself.

As soon as Dr. Ken saw the police officers trooping in through the screen of his laptop, he knew he had to disconnect and cut every trace that would get to him. He couldn't afford to get caught and arrested for the murder of Carl.

The surgeon cared less about the situation his bodyguard was in. He had gotten what he wanted which was Carl's death so he had nothing to do with his so-called bodyguard. And as for Anne, the police can have her for all he cares. Right now, the only thing that mattered to him was his own survival.

The bodyguard felt a mixture of anger and betrayal. Dr. Ken had left him to fend for himself, with the police bearing down on him. He was on his own, with no backup and no one to turn to.

With a heavy heart, the bodyguard removed his earpiece and threw it on the ground. Since he had been abandoned by his boss, he had to think of a way to save his own skin. He rushed to where Anne was and grabbed her, pulling her in front of him like a human shield.

"Let me go!" Anne struggled and screamed, but the bodyguard held her tight. He pointed his rifle at her throat, hoping that the police would surrender rather than risk harming her.

At this point, He no longer cared about her. All he could think about was saving himself. Dr. Ken had cut off all communication, and the bodyguard felt like a lost and desperate animal. He knew that if the police didn't surrender, he would have to take drastic action.

Suddenly, the bodyguard felt a cold metal barrel pressed against the back of his neck. A voice growled in his ear, "Get your fucking hands off my sister!"

The bodyguard froze, knowing that a single twitch could end his life. He turned his head slowly and saw a face he hadn't seen before. He had no idea that he was staring at Anne's brother, Dexter.

Dexter's eyes were hard and cold, and his hand was steady as he held the gun. There was no doubt that he would shoot if the bodyguard didn't comply. He came prepared for this operation so were the other police officers. Both Noah and Sasha were the ones in the helicopter shooting at Dr. Ken's men.

Dexter felt his heart skip as he saw the bodyguard pointing at his sister with a rifle like he was about to take her life. He heard his sister's terrified screams and his heart pounded in his chest. He ran towards the bodyguard, his gun drawn and ready to fire. He didn't know if he could stop the bodyguard before he hurt his sister, but he had to try.

Meanwhile, Anne couldn't believe her ears when she heard her brother's voice. The sound of his voice was like a ray of light in the darkness. She felt a surge of hope and pride. Her brother was brave and fearless, and she knew that he would do anything to save her. She never imagined that he would be involved in something like this, but now she knew just how courageous he was.

The bodyguard's face was pale with fear and confusion. He saw the bodies of his fallen men on the ground, lifeless while the few men who survived were handcuffed and forced inside the police car.

The bodyguard thought of another alternative to save himself but he was trapped. The police had him surrounded, and he was powerless to resist. He had no choice but to surrender. He released Anne from his grasp, knowing that he was defeated.

Carl was right. If anyone tried to kill him, the entire police force would come for them with everything they had. They would not let the guilty go unpunished.

The bodyguard slumped in defeat  He was taken into custody, handcuffed by Dexter, and led away by the other officers.
