Encounter: The Rising of Luna

Eratonium, the most precious and powerful stone of the whole realm finally chooses its owner, a young eighteen-year-old werewolf girl who doesn't know anything about it and the evil world revolving around her. She has to find her rightful mate on her own and crack the mystery of her pack's destruction and her parent's disappearance. This is the story of her journey from being the weakest to the strongest Luna, her journey of falling, betrayals finding her rightful mate, and being able to protect the werewolf world. Disclaimer: This is a werewolf story but also has a lot of magic involved in it. As this is fantasy story, I would request readers not to search for facts. It's solely the imagination of my mind. Please don't forget to vote with your power stones cause it's an Eratonium for me and comment on the story. That's a motivation. Have a nice reading. Thank you!!!

Chapter 8

Kimberly's POV:

"I don't think she has any evil motive for the pack. Look at her condition! She almost died in there. Why would someone risk their life just to destroy others?" It's Ashlyn's voice.

"You just seem strong but I guess you have only a mind of a nut. Do you think she might be alone in this? Who knows if someone is using her to get to us?" It's Archie's voice.

"I don't have the mind of a nut. It's you Archie who is overthinking a lot. I, not in any way can believe she can do that. She is just fucking going to be eighteen and she hasn't even shifted. What can a girl who hasn't even shifted do to us?" Her voice seems hopeless.

"Whatever! We will know once she goes through all those difficult and painful tortures once she gets well. No one can overcome those painful tortures of Alpha. She will surely tell us the truth then," Archie speaks.

Why am I hearing their voice? They are all talking about me, again? Where am I again?

I remember being in the pond, Alpha Asher pushing me in the pond, and my mother. Also, it's Alpha Asher who came there but why can't I remember anything other than that?

"I think she is awake." It's Simon's voice. I hear the footsteps walking towards me. I open my eyes slowly and the things, I see as I open my eyes are the three faces. Ashlyn, Archie, and Simon.

Archie is looking at me with his brow raised. Probably saying himself, " She is faking this all."

Ashlyn doesn't have any expressions on her face. She just looks at me with curious eyes. I move my eyes to take a glimpse at Simon. What's that?

I see his forehead lines creasing with tension and his brows almost meeting in worry. A small but contented smile creeps on his lips. And those lips finally move.

"Are you fine?" he asks. His voice has so much concern in it. It is softer and very touching, unlike so-called mighty Alpha who thinks so highly of himself.

But where is he? I am sure it was him who came to save me.

"Thank God! She woke up. I was just out to grab her dress. I don't know how she got locked in there. The door was open. It would have been a disaster if Simon hadn't been there in time," she says.

Wait! What? Beta Simon saved me? But I am sure it was Alpha's face inside the water. Was I mistaken at that time? Did I just imagine his face while it was Simon who saved me? But…

"I told you she would wake up. Simon, you were just freaking out for nothing. She is a traitor and they don't die easily," he adds.

"Archie, will you please shut up?" Ashlyn cuts in. He throws his hands in the air rolls his eyes and walks out of there. Ashlyn turns to me and sits beside me.

"It's my fault. I am sorry, Kim," she begs sorry. I cannot believe she is begging for sorry with me. All the other members of her pack are going to hate me for no reason but she still being a member of this pack, is begging sorry to me. And Simon who is nobody to me is grieving for me.

Why do I feel so much emotional?

"You're crying? You see, I didn't mean to. I was just out for a moment," she tries to explain.

"Ashlyn…can you please help me up?" I ask.

She pauses for a bit and then nods her head. She helps me sitting on the bed but wait what's this?

I sit there in shock. What is going on?

"What happens? Is something wrong? Why is your face like that?" she asks.

It takes me a few seconds to comprehend what's going on with me.

"I… I need a glass of water. Can you please get it for me?" I ask her. She looks weirdly to me and then to Simon.

"Do I look like a maid to her?" She points her index finger to herself and looks at Simon. Simon signals her positively with his eyes.

"Gosh! I can't believe I am doing all this for you, Simon," she grumpily walks out of there.

So, it's only me and Simon in the room. I know Simon is good to me but I have to check this on my own.

"Beta! Can you please leave me alone in my room? I want to be alone for a while," I say. I don't mean to offend him or so. I just want to check something and that can't be done with them together in this room.

"Oh! Okay! If you need something, just give me a call," he says. He takes a cell phone out of his pocket and places it on the bed table.

"I will," I smile as I reply. A wolf-like him would be everyone's dream. I wonder who could his mate be. He is too nice to be anyone's mate. The girl is surely going to be fortunate.

But this isn't my time to be awed with him. I have to check it before Ashlyn comes and finds me.

I quickly push away the duvet from me and try to let my legs down on the floor.

Oh!

This feels like heaven. This is wonderful. How long has it been since I haven't walked? Being able to touch the ground feels amazing. I breathe in the air in such a huge relief. My chest rises in contentment and a smile creeps on my lips. I feel as if suddenly something angelic has entered inside my body. I feel lightweight cause my body doesn't… pain anymore.

I roll up the maxi dress to look at my wounds. They are still there. Just as they were before, like they will still need a couple of weeks to get healed but when I touch them, they don't pain anymore.

I see the mirror a few inches away. I tread my feet towards the mirror. It's my first time observing my image after running away.

I used to spend a long time in front of my mirror, making myself pretty all the time. I lift my hands to touch my face but I hear the footsteps walking towards the door suddenly.

I make my quick way toward the bed just like before and lie down just as sick as I was before.

Three…Two…One… That's it…

The door opens!

Ashlyn is there with a golden antique jug and a glass. She walks towards me and pours water into the glass and hands it over to me.

"I was just pulling your legs before. You can ask anything that you would like to have," she says. I nod my head.

She moves her eyes to the bedtable and looks curiously at me.

"Simon got you a phone?" she asks.

I gulp the water before I say, "He said I can call him if I need something."

"Oh! If so then, I will save my number in it too. You can call me instead," says. She picks up the phone, saves the number, and hands it over to me. I take the phone and smile as I hand her a glass.

"You wanted something?" she asks. I am shocked to hear that.

"No…Not anything but why did you ask?" I ask. As per her facial expression, she knows something is weird in the room. What did she know? My heart beats a bit faster in fear that she might know about me.

"I see your footprints on the floor and my wolf can smell the best in the whole pack after that of Alpha. She can smell your scents on the floor. You walked from here…to …the mirror?" She swings her index finger while pointing from the spot below the bed to the spot in front of the mirror.

She has an amazing sense of smell and that means there is no use in lying to her.

"Yeah! I wanted to look in the mirror," I say softly.

"Oh! But with those legs?" she scrutinizes my face walks towards me throws away the duvet from my body and pulls up the lower part of the maxi.

The wounds are still there, still the same as before.

"Oh! You simply must have been crippled over there. It must have been difficult for you. Don't worry when I return I will bring a hand mirror for you. Also, It's snowing outside, so wear these. This is a jacket for you and here are warm woolen boots. I know you might not need them but still, you can use them once you start to walk," she says. She unfolds them and places them near me.

And then she suddenly smiles. It's my first time seeing her smile since we met. I wonder what exactly made her smile like that.

"Oh! I am sorry. I don't know why but my wolf likes you a lot. She says you're gorgeous. She has never seen a beautiful girl like you," she says.

"She does?" I ask. I loved it a lot when father and mother, chatted with their wolves. I don't know when I am shifting but I would love to do that too.

"So, how did it feel to shift?" I ask.

"Uhm… Kind of painful… But that's a start. The pack trains us so hard that it is much more painful than that," she says.

"Oh!" I say.

"I am glad you're not of this pack. If you had been, you would have to train like hell," she says. I am happy that I am not of this pack too. I can't tolerate that heartless and cruel Alpha.

"But was Simon the one who saved me? Wasn't there anyone else?" I ask.

"No… When the door opened Simon was the one who was behind the door with you," she answers.

But how could it be? That's impossible. I mean I saw Alpha in there. He was there. He pushed me and swam away from there. But…How could Simon be there with me?

That's a wholesome of mystery but more than that I have something else to focus on now.
