chapter 21: Time is a good Healer

Today, Tess felt good and decided to do some shopping. It has been a while since she bought something for herself. Everything she has was gifts from Stan, he really love buying things for her, spoiling her. She remembers him saying, it's his way of showing his love to her. She sighed, that is why he bought so many things for her. She even has things she hasn't used yet. If only his gifts were truly his love, he would still be with her. Now she has to begin to buy some new stuff for herself, maybe it will help her forget him. But most of the items are so expensive, with her salary she can't get something like what Stan would buy for her but she needs to buy something. She smiled when she remembered the things she was doing for herself now, especially with the payment of the flat, she is growing up and taking care of herself. Of course, she can't afford such luxury of a place but with a roommate, she can handle it.

The tip this week was good, so she can afford to get something nice for herself. As she entered the shop, she noticed a red dress, it's pricey, but she had a good feeling that it was worth it. So, she bought it. After the dress, she couldn't buy anything else. This standard of living is only possible if you have a rich boyfriend or husband. Without Stan, Tess chose to treat herself to good stuff, even if she has to buy one each year. She smiled as she left the mall and was pleased with her purchase.

The directors at the hotel have publicly announced the change of ownership of the hotel. They introduced the new Boss Mr Stan Weng, President of the Weng Group of Companies. When they were talking of Stan, Tess felt both Joy and pain. Joy for his accomplishments but pain for her loss. No one here knows this man was her ex, only Katie did. As they were talking about their new boss, Katie was looking at her friend and feeling her pain. After the announcement, Katie went to comfort her friend.

"it's going to be okay Tess, love will find a way. Trust whatever you guys had will be strong enough to pull you through" She offered her friend a weak smile as she held her hand tight. Tess trust Katie will keep her relationship with Stan a secret. She is a good friend.

After work that day, Katie took Tess out for some ice cream to cheer her up.

"I know what you need, it's another boyfriend. Remember how Stan helped you forget Fred, maybe what you need is someone else to help you forget Stan" Tess smiled

"where will I get a rich boyfriend better than Stan?"

"Maybe in the hotel, you know some rich people do louge there."

Tess knew Katie was just joking and trying to cheer her up and she played along for the fun of it. "Please, next time such come into the hotel, let me know", and both of them laughed.
