Chapter 14 - First vs Second [1]

Aither walked in the corner of the stage as he avoided unnecessary fights.

Then, he thought to himself. Whether it was just his intuition or not.

He should recruit that girl.

That is the reason why he didn't kill her.

But he didn't have any clue where she went and the match is still ongoing, so he cannot leave immediately.

(I'll just ask the general to investigate that girl and find her after this match.)

He thought to himself and the qualifying match of the third group continued.

There wasn't much difference between the first, second, and the current battle royal.

Except for the fact that only the 'third prince' was joining.

No one bothered to fight Aither.

They didn't want to get on bad terms with someone from the Imperial family, no matter his reputation.

Moving on, the fight ended with three other people except Aither winning the qualifying match.

They will moved on to the next round.

Afterwards, the fourth group will be next with the 4th princess finally joining.

And just like how it happened with the 1st and 2nd match, nothing significant occured.

The qualifying match ended with the Imperial family on top and along with others.

As the qualifying match ended the participants were allowed a 30 minutes break before the round of 16.

Aither took that time to talk to the general and ask him about the girl.

"Oh, you mean that pretty girl who fought with you? She did seem pretty good for someone her age."

"I felt something from her. Though it's just my intuition, I had the urge to recruit her on the spot."

Aither replied with the thought he had and the general began thinking.

(A genius's intuition? Perhaps there is something special about that girl.)

(Although, she lost to Aither.... But on the same level, she could at least in theory go toe to toe with the second prince.)

"So, could you please find her for me general, I want to try recruiting her."

As the general was lost in thought, Aither spoke up.

"Okay, I'll try finding her and investigate some stuff. Also, this is good you're now trying to gather your forces."

"This will be beneficial to you later on, kid."

"Thanks, I'll head back first general. It seems that my opponent is a little blood thirsty."

"No worries, kid and good luck. Don't lose to early in the match."

(Well that won't happen anyway.)

Or so the general thought and left the area and began looking for the girl.

"Shade."

The general called out and soon a man in black appeared out of nowhere.

"What information would you like general?"

The man spoke, no idle chats and straight to the point.

"You see the girl that masked imperial fought with?"

"Yes."

"Find her."

"Understood."

Their conversation was brief but it was expected for a transaction with the most secretive information organization in the continent.

"The Round of Sixteen will be starting now after the 30 minutes break."

"The opponents of each round has already been selected randomly."

Aither's opponent was called Fleyer and he was one of the person he saw killing his enemies without mercy.

Not only did he killed them, he killed them in the most brutal way.

Aither was somewhat disgusted by him but he knew there are all kinds of people in this world.

Plus, enetering this tournament...

One should expect himself to die at a moments distraction.
