Chapter 18:Strider Meeting

"Now that everyone is gathered, let us begin with the emergency meeting, we have little time to lose if we want to get Brian back"

"Get Brian back?, What are you talking about Lemuel dear"

"I'm sorry Cleagia, everyone, I was with Brian earlier today when the military wanted to have a word with him, and even though they had ulterior motives I could not stop them from taking Brian away, look at this video, it'll explain everything".

Lemuel showed the family a recorded footage of  the conversation with Ramsey and everything that had transpired, immediately the video ended Andrew stood up from his seat with enthusiasm on his face

"Then what are we waiting for, let's go get brother back right now, did you see what they did to him!!?"

"Come down Andrew, indeed we need to act with urgency but we don't need to be rash"

"No you don't understand big sis, I don't think any of you here do, have you guys ever imagined what brother felt all these years, have you considered putting yourselves in his shoes, I know I cannot feel exactly how he felt but I know it was hard for him. I've always looked up to him, even when branded weak and shunned it did not put him down and he succeeded in everything he put his mind to, that's how much stronger than all of us he is. And now when I can finally get closer to him, to call him big brother and have fun together, another tragedy befalls him and he gets taken away from me again , but not this time, I'll do something about it, I'll not be idle!"

"Well said cus (short for cousin), even if they are the military we can't let them take one of us and get away with it, I'm with you!"

Everyone was moved by Andrew's speech that they all started to get emotional, they began to swear to bring Brian back no matter the cost.

"Quiet!",Lemuel shouted to get back the family's attention, "it's great that all of you strongly want to bring Brian back, but we just can't go knocking on the front door of the military for a fight, which is why I've come up with a plan and I'm going to need all of your support, in the first place I'm the one who put him through the most pain by making all of you ostracize him and I was with him when they took him but couldn't protect him because I underestimated the enemy, I'll bring him back for sure".

"Then let's hear your plan Lemuel", Douglas spoke up, he is Lemuel's younger brother and one of the five heads of the strider family.

"My plan is rather a peaceful one, I don't want any fights or complicated problems. Martin, Finn, Gilbert, Dauglas, what do you say about paying the world monarch a visit?"

"I see, since the royal family is obligated to help us with our needs as a result of our contract as their protectors, you're gonna make a formal request to the king to order the military to release Brain".

"Exactly you catch on quick Finn—."

"Wait, but the monarch can't interfere with the matters of the military"

"That's true, but he is allowed a veto in the situation of an emergency, in the case where we threaten to wipe out zone six's military, it will be seen as an emergency because it will greatly affect the balance of power among the zones."

"That's true, this plan seems like the most peaceful way to go, but what if it backfires"

"Then we go to plan B, I'm a patient man but if you take my son from me don't expect me to be rational, we'll give them hell to pay"

"I like the sound of plan B better, why don't we use it first uncle"

"Me too, but sometimes we gotta use our heads before our fists Jakin, for now everyone is staying here in the mansion".

  About a hundred kilometers into the crust, Brian strider was being held in the zone six military research base, Ramsey and a certain woman in military uniform that had been adorned with so many medals and badges were having a conversation while staring at their new guest who was afloat in a cylindrical glass tube .

"Is it really alright to put him in a gravity jail, commander?. He is already still suffering from some injuries, the pressure might be too hard on him"

"Are you questioning my judgement Ramsey?"

"No, it's just that he's still a child and—."

"You said the reason Julius chose him was because he is weak and  can't use the power to its max without a pulze ability, and that you're just going to destroy the meteor link".

The link cannot be broken unless the apostle dies, what did you think?, we'd just break the link and return him safely to his daddy, then we would not have had to use underhanded methods to acquire him, anyway I didn't call you here so you could question my authority, deliver a message to Dr. Russel for me, tell her we have found a perfect test subject for her".

"Dr. Russel?, Don't tell me it's the pulze extraction experiment, that will kill him!"

"And would that not be the desired outcome, after all he has to die so that we can get the apostle crest back, it's like killing two targets with one bullet, breaking his meteor link for Stacia and being able to extract pure pulze, we might as well tip the war in our favour with the developments we can make"...
