CHAPTER 5

"Goodness, you never told me you had such a beautiful sister, David?"

"HEY!"

Hey, indeed, for standing before me was a gorgeous red-headed lass.

In all honesty, David, your mom is a total milf.

I smirked, one hand outstretched to keep a fiery Latino boy at bay from smashing my face in with his fist, while I casually gave a small wave. Gloria, David's mom, huffed the corners of her lips, curling up into a small smile as she said, "It's nice to see you again, Mr. Quin." I raised a finger, causing the buxom red-head to cross her eye for a moment as I tutted, "Nah ah ah, please just call me Quin, even though it does wonders for a gorgeous woman like yourself to call me Mr.~" A growl escaped David as he stared up at me with flames in his eyes, Gloria meanwhile giggled, one hand covering her mouth as she stared up at me with glee.

"Oh," Gloria said, cocking her hip to the side while also reaching underneath to push up her breast with a forearm, "It seems I still have game if my womanly whims are affecting such a dashing young man like yourself, Quin.~" Before I could reply to either her saucy words or the playful glint in her eyes, a short stake of a son barged between us, anger written all across his face as he stared at his mother with open mouth horror, "MOM!" I smirked, watching as Gloria raised an eyebrow at her son, the corners of her lips curling upward as she muttered, "What's wrong, David? Can't your mom attract the attention of a reliable and forthcoming young man?"

David's sputter nearly sent me cackling as he spun around and pointed a finger at my face, "Never! I will never allow my mom to be tricked and woed by this son-of-a--!" A fist smacked the top of David's head, causing him to grunt out in pain, as his mother stared down at him with a frown, "Watch that language, young man, don't make me get the chance!"

I chuckled, watching the mother and son duo enter the apartment. Gloria held David by the ear as he pulled him in. Facing my direction, David glared at me before raising a hand to flip me to the bird.

"Gloria, your son flipped me off."

David went starch white, eyes widening in disbelief, and before quickly turning purple when Gloria wrapped an arm around his head and started rubbing her knuckles against the poor lad's head.

"No seas un poco imbécil David!" (Don't be a little asshole David!)

"Maldito seas! Maldito seas, Quin! (Damn you! Damn you, Quin!)

Chuckling, I walked around the duo before gazing at the room.

Yes, the same room David spent weeks alone, his mom in the hospital, the rent stacking on as he struggled to make ends meet. Yet, in the end, he lost his mother; he lost the only person in this god-forsaken place who truly loved him. Not love from a partner, nor the kind you get from friends, the authentic kind, the kind that only belongs to the person that will forever be your number one.

A mother's love.

Confused, Lost, and Afraid, David quickly dwelled in a dark place. Eventually, the stress and heartbreak led him to implant the Sandevistan in his back, especially from a sleazy good for nothing fuc-

"Hey, you good choom?"

I blinked, reality coming back to me, as I glanced at David. The guy was rubbing his head, one of his ears a dark red, as he gazed up at me with questioning eyes. I smiled, reaching up to scratch the stubble across my face as I replied, "Yeah, just lost in my thoughts." David blinked, his face forming somewhat into a grimace.

"You sure?"

I felt my smile grow, my hand reaching up to ruffle the top of his head, getting a squawk of protest in return. "Yeah," I said, taking a deep breath before continuing, "I'm okay now that I get to stare at your hotty of a mom." I ducked back, avoiding the fist aimed at my face, before running around, a snicker plastered on my face as I continued to dodge each of his attacks.

"Stay still, asshole!"

I ducked under a swing, my eyes snapping up to see Gloria in the kitchen, a smile on her face as she gazed at both of us with eyes of warmth. Grinning, I charged forward, my arms outstretched as I grabbed the surprised woman in a bear hug. A squeak erupted from within my arms as I carried around David's mother, something which caused the boy to fume in anger.

"Get your hands off of her!"

"Nope.~"

So, that continued for some time, me dancing around David. The boy threw curses left and right in rage while the mother giggled and laughed in my arms, her slender appendages holding onto my neck. Sadly, the fun had to stop because a deep rumble echoed from within the room, causing all the occupants to freeze. I blinked, a cheeky smirk forming on my face, as I narrowed an eye at the blushing woman within my grasp.

"Miss. Gloria...Are you perhaps hungry?"

"N-No!"

RUMBLE*

"I beg the differ."

After placing the red-faced woman on the ground, David took advantage of her by throwing a fist into my side. The only thing he accomplished was bruising his knuckles and giving my side a nice, soft massage.

"Gah! What the fuck are you made of...Titanium!"

"Close...It's pure awesomeness."

"Fuck-"

"David."

The Latino boy sucked in air, his eyes fearfully looking over at his mother, who was staring at him with a playful glare. "C'mon, querida (sweetheart), let's make something." David nodded, not before sending me a glare; in response, I just flipped him off.

"Mom! He flipped me off."

"I didn't see anything?~"

"MOM!"
