"Well, I'm not really surprised." Professor Thomas continued, "Taking into consideration how untrained you actually are in a real battle. And it's not like you've been overtaken by rage so many times that you'll be used to it." he finished with a chuckle to himself, clearly intending to make a joke. Aria's breath hitched at the last part but she quickly hid her surprise.
"One of those?" she asked, wondering what had the Professor been talking about before he made the joke.
Professor Thomas frowned as he said, "It's weird that you don't know, but it's not unheard off. And seeing that you do not come from a family of warriors, it isn't surprising. I don't suppose any of your parents ever lost control." He asked, and Aria shook her head.
Neither Victor not Maria had ever been taken over by rage, nor had been her real parents, at least in front of her. Aria hadn't even known it was a common thing until it happened with Helen.
"Well you see, what really happens when you lose yourself to rage is that . . . . " Professor Thomas began, but he was interrupted by Miss Anhao walking towards them.
"Though you are the headmaster, the other visitors are starting to complain." she said, placing her hands on her hips. "And as much as it looks required, I am not going to allow more than one visitor near her. At least not now."
"That is a very good decision to make. One that I am willing to do anything to keep in force." Professor Thomas said as he stood up. He looked at Aria and his lips curved into a loving smile. "Get healthy again as soon as possible. And try to listen to whatever Miss Anhao tells you and not give her too much trouble." he said, patting her forehead with a feather like touch so as to not aggravate her wounds before flashing them a quick smile and walking away.
"Ready for the next one?" Miss Anhao asked, turning to look at Aria with a worried, apologetic sort of smile.
Aria offered her one of her smiles in return as she nodded. She had already taken the scolding from the principal of the school, what could be worse than that? Aria thought.
But what she hadn't taken into account that Professor Thomas was not a gossip, nor was he the most strict teacher in the school.
Aria had already been through a load of people just dropping in to ask her if she was actually the queen's daughter before lunch. Some of them had actually asked her for favors!! She had also already been visited by Professor Iris, who scolded her for her reckless actions a lot more than Professor Thomas and questioned her with a lot more intensity.
"I wish Miss Anhao would start screening the people she lets in." Aria thought to herself as she said, "Of course not! I can assure you with a hundred percent certainty that I cannot ask the queen to consider if your big brother can get a promotion in the army, Sally!!"
"I'm not asking for a promise. I just want you to tell her how much useful he has been for the queen and the kingdom ever since he joined the army." Sally, a classmate and friend, no, former friend of Aria said.
