Jacob shrugged, "I have never thought otherwise. It's clear as day to me."
Aria looked at him in surprise and Jacob continued in a non-chalant tone, "It's just some things you do and say. Doesn't matter."
Aria waited for him to continue, and sighed when he didn't, "Jacob, I really don't remember my past. And I think it's best I forgot. It couldn't have been anything nice if I was abandoned in a river."
Jacob shook his head and mumbled, "I thought we were friends."
"What?" Aria asked, not catching it. "Nothing. I'll talk to Harper." Jacob shook his head and stood up.
"Wait." Aria caught his sleeve and said, "Jacob, do you trust me?"
Jacob stared at Aria and nodded.
Aria sighed, "Then wait. Wait Jacob. I've never promised anyone this, but I'll say it to you. I'll tell you everything you want to know. But.....not now. One day. So, wait. Okay?"
Jacob sighed and sat back down, "I have been waiting Aria. Waiting for the day you finally trust me enough to open up to me."
Aria: "It's got nothing to do with trust. I am something that no one can accept. But I'll tell you, one day."
Jacob frowned, "You are something? What is it that 'you are'? That nobody can accept?"
Aria looked at the sky, the one or two clouds floating against the blue sky, "Everyone has a chapter they don't read out aloud. Everyone."
Jacob said nothing as he also looked up.
"Yeah. And you are mine." He sighed internally, turning his gaze on Aria.
Aria suddenly clapped her hands and stood up. She said, "Hey Jacob? You don't mind picking up Helen, right? I've got an errand to run before breakfast. I'll meet you there if I have the time."
And before Jacob could reply, Aria had flown towards the North tower. Jacob sighed as he got up, "I wish I could fly like that. I would probably stop walking if I did."
Aria flew to her room and tied her hair in a low ponytail. She then descended the tower and walked to Harper's room.
Harper answered as Aria knocked. She was in the middle of getting dressed as her hair were half done and she had a comb in her hand.
"Aria? What's wrong? Did something happen?" Harper asked.
Aria shook her head, "I just wanted to know which one is Stephen's room."
Harper's face broke out into a smile, "You're going to talk to him?"
Aria also let out a kind smile, "The sooner the better."
Harper seemed a bit uneasy as she told Stephen's room number to Aria.
"What are you worried about? I'll not be able to convince this Stephen?" Aria frowned.
Harper shook her head, "I've never seen you fail at anything. I'm just worried that you'll have to deal with Stephen. What with your beauty and talent."
Aria chuckled, "Don't worry about me. I'll break his arm if he tries to touch me. And his legs if he tries to follow me around."
Harper giggled as Aria said goodbye to her and walked towards Stephen's room.
