Ch. 65 'The Mastery of Purple Knight'

Scarlet glanced at Edward and Kazuto's wrists only to see the same ice bracelet wrapped around the men's wrists.

The three of them followed the direction of the tug. After exiting the room, they were surprised to see Izzy and Yuki were standing there. Izzy's hair color was purple and was playing a song with her flute.

So it seemed the enchanting melody came from Izzy's flute. Is this the power of the purple knight? Then how about the ice bracelets that wrapped to their wrists?

Seconds later, Scarlet saw Yuki raised one of her hands. She snapped her fingers once, and the ice bracelets evaporated in the air. Scarlet was stunned watching this. The mastery of the colorless knight was ice maker? What is wrong being an ice Elementalist? Why does Yuki hate her power so much?

She had no idea the true mastery of Yuki was far beyond she could imagine.

Once Izzy finished playing the flute, she immediately stored the pipe in her astral, and her hair color returned to normal.

"What happened?" Scarlet asked.

"I should have asked that. What are you doing to make your identity exposed like that?" countered Izzy.

"I'm sorry. It was all my fault." Kazuto regretted it. If only he didn't lose control, they wouldn't be exposed.

"No. I chose to help you. That is not your fault. Besides, I lost control the minute I heard he killed Ren."

Scarlet was angry at Tora at the same time was mad to Kazuto. He should have told her about the boy! She already considered Ren as her brother, and he knew that, yet the man spoke nothing.

She wanted to meet Ren for the last time. She wanted to attend his funeral. Above all of that, she wanted to give Kazuto comfort and solace. Regretfully, Kazuto did nothing. He let himself mourning alone and kept his graveness by himself.

Why does this man love to torture himself like this? Couldn't he share his burden with his family? He had friends for god's sake! What is the use of a friend if he always sits in the corner shutting everyone else out?

"Why didn't you tell me? You should have told me about this."

"..."

Silence engulfed surround them, making Izzy feel awkward. She was not a person who like complicated things. Her head would be dizzy if she overthought, so she decided to speak up first.

"Before you blame each other, look inside first. Everything is going normal as if nothing bad happened."

"She's right. Everything went as usual." Edward's words dispelled Scarlet's reverie and immediately peeked through the door, which Edward opened slightly.

"You don't want to see it?" Izzy felt confused by Kazuto's attitude, who did not move from where he stood.

"I don't care what you did. I only know you helped us, and I appreciate it." Only then, Kazuto walked away, not caring about a thing. He wanted to be alone where no one could disturb him.

This was what irked Scarlet the most. Kazuto prefers to be left alone whenever a problem occurred rather than discussing it with his friends.

"What's wrong with him? He walks like a living dead. Is he a zombie?" said Izzy with a satire tone.

Scarlet closed the door and asked for an explanation from Izzy. Strange enough, she did not feel as upset as she was when she heard the boy's death. Could this be one of the purple knight's mastery?

She felt calm as if something soothed her raging heart.

"Izzy, please tell me, what did you do to those people? You didn't hurt them, did you?"

"Jeez. What do you take me for? I'm not a sadist, okay. I just help you guys so nobody would remember what had happened. I manipulated their memories, so your identities as an Elementalist knight is safe again. Am I awesome?" asked Izzy proudly.

"Really?"

"Yup. Except for one person, though. I felt a great hatred from that person. It was kinda hard to seal some of his memory. For now, his hatred toward Kazuto was forgotten but only temporary. Kazuto should avoid that person as much as he could so that his memory won't be triggered."

"You did that? I don't know what to say."

"How about a thank you?"

Scarlet smiled genuinely. "Thank you. Thank you very much."

"No problem. I don't like fights anyway. If you want me to stay here, then I don't want even the slightest fight."

"I understand. I also hope we can stay here in peace."

"But what will happen to them? Is there any kind of effect?"

"They will be fine. They only had some memory loss. Aside from that, they are fine."

Scarlet's mouth dropped open in disbelief at what she just heard. "I didn't know you possessed that kind of technique."

Izzy's face made a proud smile. "This is the mastery that only a purple knight has."

"I thought you were a potion expert? Toxins, drugs, or something like that."

"Yes, I am. Only I don't need to make my concoction. Just by playing my flute, I will get whatever potion effect I want."

"I don't know whether I should amaze or scared. Never mind. And you..." Scarlet looked at Yuki, who was shocked at her cheerfulness attitude. "Your elemental energy is ice! What a very rare mastery!"

"Thanks." Yuki was indeed smiling to respond to the compliment. But the smile showed sadness that was not too obvious.

Why was Yuki be concerned about her elemental energy that much?
