Chapter 7

I was woken up by tiny voices. A group of four entered the room with Skylar,leading Kate and some two other good looking dudes. I presumed they were talking about their basket ball game. Sitting up straight, I rubbed my eyes still feeling drowsed. These people were making too much noise for only four people. Skylar's smile died down as he saw me sitting in the couch. It was as though I suddenly popped another head. The other three stood back with a confused expression. Kate shrugged, dropping a grocery bag on the kitchen counter. She walked over to the couch and was about to sit when Skylar screamed.

" Wait!"

They all turned to looked at him more confused than before. He walked over to me and gave me the eye which indicated that he wanted me off the couch.

" The couch seems a bit unclean" he said brushing the couch with his hands, giving away a nervous smile.

The trio gave him another confused look but went with the flow. She sat down and took her phone. The guys also did. One guy sat on the couch by the center table with his legs crossed, the other dragged Skylar's study chair. I couldn't believe the human got me off the couch and standing for her to sit. I joined the guy who sat on the ground.

" We've got mechanics on Monday." the guy I sat by said.

I took time to study his features he had copper brown hair in icy blue eyes,quite handsome . Skylar ignored him and whispered in the ear of Kathy. She giggled at whatever he said. The guy on the chair gave them a stern look before speaking.

" Why don't you two share what's making you guys giggle?". The blue eyed kid nodded in affirmation to the suggestion. This guy had jet black hair and light brown eyes. Not bad. I could see that Skylar had good taste and looks about his friends.

" Could you pass me my bag,Josh?" Kathy asked the dark haired guy, ignoring his question. He frowned but still got it.

" Great. How about Josh and I start with our law project from class ,both you and AJ also start with your mechanics practicals?" she offered pointing at the blue-eyed guy.

The guys took out their learning equipments from their bags and opened them. Skylar took out his computer and scooted over to AJ, once again forcing me to leave my spot. I checked the time. 6:00 pm. 30 minutes after they began their work. Kate unbuttoned her shirt, taking it off. The guys stared at her expectantly. As if she was about give a strip show. She looked at the three and rolled her eyes.

" It's hot in here" she fanned herself with her on button shirt. " Could you switch on both AC's?"

Skylar nodded his head, took the remote and set the machines to 16°. I shivered when the cold air hit me, rubbing myself furiously. How could they sit in such extreme cold. Why didn't they just go live up in the Himalayas. I shook more when the AC was put on Swing.

" This place isn't freaking mountain Everest" I yelled, shivering.

" You're the one half naked" he said. The members in the room turned to look at him.

That was when realization dawned on me. I really was half naked. How stupid was I to forget. I wandered around the room,looking for where I'd dropped my hoodie before sleeping. I searched for a while till I found it. Well almost. AJ was comfortably sitting on it.

" Help me" I said shivering,at the same time trying to nudge him.

" I prefer you being this way. Get the hoodie yourself" he murmured under his breah so that no one would hear him. Excuse me?,seriously?. If he got me out only to kill me I was willing to go back to the graveyard.

I scanned the room till I noticed a blanket sitting comfortably in the second couch which faced the first . I had the urge to grab it. But I didn't want to,since I knew the blanket would levitate in front of them. I yelled again, earning an annoyed look from him. Was it so hard for him to help me?. Fine. If he wasn't going to help me then I'd help myself.

I got up shivering,walked towards the kitchen,glared wickedly at the counter. I looked at the messy bowl which I'd left on the counter after tasting the soup. I pushed it and it landed on the ground, shattering to pieces. The four snapped their head towards my direction. Skylar gave me a death glare. I used that opportunity to dash towards my hoodie. Heaven at last. They helped themselves gather up the broken pieces.

" You owe me " he muttered.

" I don't " I replied , poking my tongue out to tease him. " You refused to help me so I did". After some minutes,they continued studying . I watched them feeling bored with every minute that passed.

" I'm starving " Josh lamented after about an hour from the incident. Kathy looked at the time and sighed.

" I'll whip us dinner " she said, tying her hair into a messy bun .

She walked over to the kitchen counter and took out the items from the grocery bag. The boys in turn switched on the tv and played a match. She opened the fridge to take out some ingredients but brought out an almost empty plate I recognized. Uh oh. She scowled as she took another glance at the fridge bowl. I neared her, taking out a ghostly version of the plate she held.

" Where is my rice congee and where did my lemon cake go?" she shrieked. Skylar looked over at us alarmed.

" I ate the congee yesterday and you ate more than you think" he replied in response to the cake. He gave me an ugly glance. I nearly choked on the cake.

" Whatever. But never touch my favorite rice congee. Now I have to eat what I prepare for you guys too" she whined.

Did this girl had to have that much similarities with me?. Did she really have to be the owner of the food. I held my plate and walked aimlessly over to the boys who were involved in the game. I sat on the couch by Skylar and AJ, focusing on the game. Minutes later a heavenly smell wafted through the air. What was that divine smell?. I turned my head towards the direction of the kitchen. Seconds later the chef came in holding four bowls of noodles with braised pork and omelette on a tray. She served them and returned to the kitchen.

" Can I get my share?" I asked

" Yes"he replied

" Yes what?" Josh asked.

" Nothing" the human answered.

" You're invited" he said to me letting go off the grip he had on his bowl. I nearly touched the bowl when his friend replied.

" We all have a share so there is no need to actually invite us". That was the blue-eyed dude.

Kathy came back with four glasses of juice. Okay, his friends were really wearing me out. All I wanted to do was eat the food which looked promising. Was that too much to ask for?.

" Thanks" the boys replied simultaneously as she dropped the drink on the center table. I rolled my eyes and finally took out my version of the noodles and drinks. Sniffing once more,I swallowed a fork full of noodles. Forget about the soup. The noodles was awesome. I wiped the bow clean and gulped down the juice. That was when I noticed Skylar watching me.

" What ?" I asked. He only shook his head and kept on eating. After what seemed to be eternity they were done. AJ checked the time.

" I think we need to get going" he said. " It's 7:30 ". The others groaned as AJ said so. All four piled up there bowls in the sink.They packed up the place before leaving. Skylar escorted them. After a long while of staring and contemplating to do the dishes. I did.

The human bade me night as he entered his room.Seconds later he appreciated my efforts in making his room conducive.
