Dominique lifts Christian into his arms heeding the burned ankh into the palm of his hand.

"Looks like Christian's existence here isn't just a coincidence here anymore…"

Several hours later Christian sits straight up in bed to have Dominique sitting beside him going through his phone, "So when were you going to share the fact you had a mark on your palm?"

Stunned Christian grabs his palm feeling guilty, "I didn't recall till recently."

Dominique switches legs stuffing his phone into his pocket, "How would you like to do more in the household Christian?"

His eyes light up being asked, "What happened to Alex and Alice?" Christian questions.

"He is in his room with fever and Alice is being treated as we speak, but you should not worry."

"Can I visit them please?"

"Not today…today we are exploring the mark."

"What do you even mean by that?"

"For that mark to even be remotely useful you need to be a vampire."

"Then why do you need to test it?"

Dominique gets up smiling, he clutches his arm, "This might hurt a little."

He digs his fangs into his palm; the blaze of fire activates encircling them both as he draws blood Christian's body weakens causing him to recline against Dominique, "Stop please…"

"Oh dear…he passed out instead of pulling out Gavyn or maybe there is more to this."

There is a knock on the door, "Come in."

Chara opens the door bringing Christian's lunch, "Oh you are taking blood Master Dominique?"

"I guess you could say so, how is Alex?"

"He awoke a few hours ago, but you were in the wrong you know."

Dominique lays Christian down on the bed to cross his arms, "What do you know?"

"That you aren't the bearer of that sword Master Dominique." She spouts angrily.

"Then I will change that Ms. Chara; bring Christian to her room tonight…"

"Master Dominique I question your judgment."

He drags the phone out of his pocket scrolling through to show her pictures of Alice from far blurred, messages, "I decided Alice will turn..."

Chara sets the food down pushing him on his back laying his head on the pillow, "Gavyn chose him Master Dominique…please respect his wishes to defend Master Alex."

"I always forget why you were chosen as a maid here Chara, but as long as I am second in line you must obey me isn't that right?"

She sighs, "I will bring him later to the room, but you must contact Melina for first aid after."

"I shall, please take care of him then, I trust you."

"Master Alex is sick, you are taking advantage of that it sounds."

"I won't be interrupted, how lovely."

Chara growls pulling her staff out aiming at his face, "I am instructed to deal with feral vampires."

He tips his pointer finger on her staff pushing it downwards only grinning, "I am far from feral."

"I hope Gavyn kicks your ass before the devil assistant mindset kicks in when Christian turns."

"Gavyn wouldn't dare."

Dominique says strolling out of the room with nothing more to say, she takes the chair sitting beside him straightening his hair and some of his bedding, "I am so sorry…"

Christian turns his head, "Sorry for what?"

Chara wipes her eyes, "You are covered in scratches and bruises from bites."

He laughs a little giving an exhausted look, "I have gotten used to it."

"Christian...do you know what is going to happen to you?"

He sits up confused, "Chara…is something going on?"

"It's Alice…"

"Dominique is turning her isn't he?"

Christian gets off the bed reaching for the door; Chara has a remorseful look in her eyes gradually closing the door behind them, walking to the furthest door at the end of the hall.

Unlocking the door she stands back letting Christian walk into the room slamming the door on him, he leaps up looking back, "Chara?"

He peaks into the nearly dark room at hand; his eyes take time to adjust to the scarce lighting.

Alice is heaped over the bed sleeping, "Alice?"

Excitedly he strolls over leaning down to make sure she is okay examining her body, she is bruised and cut but was patched up filled with bandages.

On the nightstand he finds pain killers and sleeping medication, "Is she having insomnia?"
