Mother-daughter talk

***Vesperion house, Elysia's room***

"So dear, how was the outside world?" asked Elysia her daughter.

"It's definitely interesting. Even though we didn't really have time to go sightseeing I have seen quite a few things." said Albedo.

"Such as?" asked Elysia.

"Well, I have seen the youkai's home and house Phenex's territory. I have also seen what fate awaits the defeated. I have seen people being erased from existence and being tortured until their mind breaks." said Albedo.

"What do you mean what fate awaits the defeated and who was tortured?" asked Elysia.

Albedo then proceeded to recount everything that has happened regarding the youkai and the suffering of the head of house Phenex.

"I wasn't expecting you to see such things on your first visit anywhere, but it was bound to happen sooner or later, so let me ask. How or what did you feel about seeing these things happen?" asked Elysia.

"Regarding that chamber that the youkai used, I was disgusted to the core by such a place, about the torture that Lord Kaiser did to the head of house Phenex. I wasn't bothered by it. I honestly think that he did exactly what had to be done. His actions may seem irrational to some, but to me, it seemed as if he just doesn't care about anyone who isn't like family to him. It didn't seem like he took pleasure in torturing the Phenex family head, but he still did it for the tears so he can give it to Harumi. The fact that he is willing to burn the world to ashes as long as he can keep those close to him safe is something that I find extremely attractive. The way anyone who attacked me was erased without proof of them ever existing gave me an indescribable feeling." said Albedo with a slightly crazed look at the end as she finished her small speech.

"Albedo? Are you alright?" asked Elysia.

'She probably relates to Kaiser's worldview. The only person who has ever been with her through everything is me. I kind of feel conflicted. My daughter might develop some kind of unhealthy obsession with Kaiser if this keeps going on, but on the other hand, I don't truly see a reason to try to prevent such a thing from happening. If she is happy, safe and loved then I'm content.'

"Of course mother. I just answered your question honestly." said Albedo with a small smile

"You said you found his behaviour attractive and he is also good looking. Do you perhaps plan on pursuing him?" asked Elysia.

"There are a few problems with that. Firstly I have no idea how to go about pursuing anyone, secondly, as I mentioned before he already has a partner." said Albedo.

"Those two things hardly qualify as problems. You just have to express your feelings as you two spend more time together to make your intentions clear and as for the second problem, a powerful man like him having multiple lovers by his side is not an uncommon thing." said Elysia.

"I think you are overestimating my worth mother. I'm not powerful, influential or knowledgeable like others around him such as Yasaka or Grayfia. He has no reason to accept someone like me." said Albedo.

'My daughter seems to have some self-worth issues. All I can do is help her become more confident to pursue the man who is slowly stealing her heart.' thought Elysia.

"You are the one who is underestimating your worth. Love is not something feeble that connects to power or influence. It is a feeling so strong that it could possibly overwhelm your entire being. You don't need to be any of those things to support him and give him everything that you are." said Elysia.

"For example?" asked Albedo.

"You can just be there for him when he needs someone. You can hold him during tough times and you can also give him your point of view on a specific problem, which could also be a big help. You can help him unwind when necessary and also make him focus when it is required. My point is just to support him in whatever way you can. You are perfectly capable of doing this. Your worth is nothing less than the other people around him." said Elysia.

"Thank you mother, I feel better about myself. I'll do as you suggested and shower Kaiser with affection to make my intentions clear to him." said Albedo with a determined smile.

"No problem dear and I wish you the best of luck." said Elysia.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Elysia went to open it. On the other side of the door stood Grayfia.

"I'm here to inquire on behalf of my master whether you are ready or need more time to pack." said Grayfia.

"We don't need more time, we are ready to move any time." said Elysia.

"Then please follow me." said Grayfia as she turned on her heels and started walking towards Kaiser's study.

Elysia and Albedo left the room and followed Grayfia.

After a short walk, they arrived at the door of Kaiser's study. Grayfia opened the door and let Elysia and Albedo enter before she entered herself and closed the door behind her.
