Beginning of the canon story

Kuoh Academy...

A private high school where I go to. Although it made me feel a little strange going in the same school as the main characters. I guess fate liked to play games with me.

Hello, my name is Hikari Kenji. A reincarnator, and also a student at this school. It might sound really ridiculous, but believe me I don't know what really happened so I just decided to go with the flow.

I'm already a second year student, and I've already been acquainted with the main characters. I don't really actively seek them out, but they're especially famous and are in constant spotlight in this school. News about them spread like wildfire in a dried up forest.

For example, the perverted trio are having a conversation about Issei's imaginary girlfriend called "Yuuma-chan".

If my insignificant existence didn't cause butterfly effects, then at this time Issei's already become Rias-senpai's peerage member. He also got strange energy with him similar to her peerage members.

Of course the trio go back to their topic of conversation with some erotic materials and Yuuma was never mentioned again.

Looking outside the window, I witnessed a flash of crimson light. Down there a young lady is strolling in the schoolyard outside the classroom window. It was the crimson-haired beauty, the school idol whose features transcended human flesh. Her slim proportions weren't those of a typical Japanese girl.

It was afternoon and classes already ended for the day. People who had club activities will stay, and those who didn't join any clubs either hang out with their friends somewhere or go straight back home.

Meanwhile I went somewhere in an isolated building. It was dimly lit inside, ordinary humans wouldn't be able to see clearly in a place this dark.

I arrived in a room with a label Occult Research Club on it.

I knocked on the door three times and a while later I heard a faint 'please come in' from the inside.

I opened the door and saw a black hair tied in a ponytail Japanese beauty. She had a 10 points body and face. Overall she looked perfect material as a wife for any Japanese young men looking for marriage partners. Especially with her onee-san "ara ara" vibes she's giving off would make any man want to impregnate her on the spot.

"Good afternoon, Akeno-senpai. Rias-senpai called for me earlier so I came."

"Ara Ara~ Hello Kenji-kun. Please wait for a while, Buchou is still taking her shower. Please have some tea and cookies I've prepared."

I sat down on a couch and took a sip of her tea. It really tastes delicious, as expected of the main characters.

"These taste really great, Akeno-senpai."

"Ufufu, thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it."

After a while the sound of the showers was turned off and a girl got out of the bathroom with only a towel on her body.

"Oh, you're here too early aren't you Kenji-kun."

"Of course, I couldn't possibly make Rias-senpai wait for me."

"Well you should take it easy."

"Ha ha ha, thank you very much for your concern."

She changed with her clothes without even minding me here, a young man in puberty, in the room.

After she was done, she sat down on the club president's throne placed in the room.

"Currently there is a pressing issue that is happening to this town."

If I remember it right, it must involve something about what happened to Issei and that Fallen Angel.

"From the look at your face, I think you already knew about it." she smiled faintly.

"It's nothing, I just had a guess."

"There was an incident happening under this territory involving outside forces. Although we sent our familiars to do preliminary scouting, we still don't know if they're hostile or not. If things get handled poorly we might get into unnecessary skirmishes and at worst escalate it into a war. I don't really want casualties to happen when I'm here in this town." Rias briefly explained.

In the show, it didn't get explained every single detail about their actions and how they view the situation. Especially since it followed the perspective of the main character who is still quite insignificant in the larger picture.

"Is there anything I can do about it for you then?" I asked her and took a bite of a cookie. Ooh! these are delicious too!

"I want you to keep an eye on them and give me any reports about anything strange related to them."

"Hmm..." I rubbed my chin in contemplation.

Since this was something that happened in the show, I already knew what was going to happen and I could take advantage of it for the task. This job will be easier than most errands I do.

"Can I ask what degree can I have autonomy on this task?"

"Of course you can take any action you deem necessary, as long as the trouble isn't much I can cover it up." she said full of confidence.

Then this will be really fun.

"I get it, then I guess I better get moving now and get to work." I said and sipped all the remaining tea on my cup in one go.

"Are you leaving already? Can't you stay for a while and relax? It's not something you need to do in a haste."

"I'm fine really. I just discovered their tail right now, if I let the opportunity slip by. The task will be a bit more troublesome."

"Do you need reinforcements?"

"No need, I'll handle it myself."

Seeing that I decided to leave immediately, Rias-senpai and Akeno-senpai didn't force me to stay and let me leave.

I nodded and turned the doorknob and closed the door behind me and left...
