Danger Approaching

Ren starts waking up feeling his head hurts and he realizes he is on bed, he sits up slowly to find Rem sitting on a chair and drinking a cup of coffee.

"how am on bed? what happened?" he says still feeling a little out of balance.

"oh you are awake! you were unconscious for 2 hours!!" she responds joyfully while looking at him and holding her cup of coffee.

"What?! 2 hours?!" he says and looks out of the window and realizes the sun won't be rising this day and that he has to adapt to the situation.

"Ren!!!" she shouts!

"what?! I know the sun still didn't rise."

"No Ren!! your hair!"

"you finally decided to look a little less dull and add some color to your hair!!" she adds.

"huh?! what are you talking about, airhead! i was out cold for the past 2 hours."

"you have a white lock of hair though"

"it's just one thing after the other" he says as he is starting to get puzzled

"oh don't worry too much about it, i woke up with one too when the explosion happened" she responds.

"you say that now! don't you think that important information?!" he shouts

"hey, easy on me bossy dude.. i just thought i got too shocked or maybe i am growing too old"

he sighs and he starts trying to think about what's going on trying to figure out what is happening.

"maybe its radiation from the explosion that's affecting our bodies?"

"maybe this is all a military experimental weapon?!" he thinks loudly

"you watch too much movies man" she scoffs.

"i know right?!" he laughs it off

"but hey it's not like this is all normal...you have to start thinking out of the box.. cause we ain't in that box anymore"

"yea...you are actually right.." she finds what Ren says makes sense and she starts thinking what might be going on as well.

Ren tries to remember where he saw the necklace on that girl but his thoughts wanders in a different direction reminding him of something else.

"Rem!" he shouts

"what?!" she responds a bit scared and surprised.

"earlier you seemed worried about someone something in the hallway, is there someone else alive in the building?!"

"well i am not sure myself anymore.." she says while having her doubts.

"it went quiet for two hours following the explosion.."

"but then i heard some noise on the floor that got me scared so i went up to this floor..i am not sure if it was you who made this sounds or someone else"

Ren starts thinking quietly it's around the same time he reached the building but he didn't leave the stairs till he reached that floor they are in and he didnt make any more noise so he concludes that there's someone else in the building.

"i have a bad feeling about this.. we should start preparing ourselves and figuring out our next move" Ren says as he senses danger.

"but i wanna get some sleep it's unfair u got a lot of rest and i had to stay on the watch!!" Rem whines.

"There's no time for that...we will have to move anyway"

"so where are we going a convenience store to get some food?"

"No, we are staying on the building for a little more" he responds as he smirks

"huh?! i thought we should leave since there might be someone dangerous around!" Rem says not following what Ren is thinking.

He shakes his head and sighs at how dumb he thinks Rem is.

"you said you heard the sound on a lower floor so that means that whoever is around didn't plan to make it to the top yet or maybe ever especially we didn't hear the elevator make any sounds so far and we need to have a better look at the view from a higher point"

"look at what?!" she asks curiously

"our enemies." he smirks in excitement.

Ren starts looking around the room for all the weapons he can find while thinking about his plan, he manages to find a lot of equipment, a knife , bullets for the guns and for the sniper rifle and a protective vest and a heat vision eyewear.

"i think i am sure now this is not your room Rem"

"Did you seriously think i am an assassin?!" she exclaims as she watches him searching the room.

The image of a tall woman wearing black and looking scary pops up in his mind again and he looks at Rem and laughs "hell no"

"you do know how to use a gun though and your hits certainly packs a punch" he says in a serious tone.

"yea.." she responds awkwardly trying to hide her background as she looks away.

Ren knows she is hiding something anyway so he decides not to pry.

"okay i think we are ready to depart" he says carrying many stuff and throwing her a pack of bullets.

"aren't you gonna gimme the other glock pistol back?!"

"the glock pistol.." he narrows his eyes as he repeats suspiciously as he gets thrown off a little that she used this way of saying it.

"yea i mean the gun" she responds

"yea i know what you meant.. anyway no you already have one on you so i will be keeping that one for now"

"but you have the rifle and a knife! and all the cool stuff!!" she whines

"you wanna carry the rifle then?"

she stays quiet for a moment and then nods

"as suspicious as you are ,you act like a little kid" he says sarcastically and throws her the rifle case at her.

she catches it effortlessly as if it weights nothing, he narrows his eyes even more and stays quiet looking away.

"ok let's go" he opens the door slowly trying not to cause any unnecessary sounds and walks down the hallway as discreetly as possible going towards the stairs as Rem follows him.

"aren't we gonna use the elevator?!" she whispers

"no it isn't safe enough for that"

she grunts in dissatisfaction

Ren chooses to ignore her as they reach the stairs and sighs in relief.

"okay it's fairly safe to go up the stairs but don't make too much noise"

"you talk as if i am the one who is loud enough to get caught in the hallway"

he rolls eyes and they start walking up the stairs.
