Thugs

They exited the building as they heard barking and growling from the stable direction. Realizing it was their wolves Gorbin and Gabbie took off running in that direction.

Adrian hurried to follow them not knowing what was happening. 'Were they supposed to pay to house their wolves or something? Did they get in a fight with other animals inside?'

They ran over to the stables to see a group of men grabbing the wolves trying to drag them away. Gorbin rushed forward as he jumped in the air punching one of the men in the face who was grabbing his wolf.

"The fuck are you doin!" Gorbin yelled as he began to ease the wolf's anger.

Gabbie and Adrian run up and try to drag the other men away from her wolf as they begin to curse "Who do you think you are!? Quit grabbing at our wolves!"

Adrian pushed one of the men away as he said "Fuck off!"

The man paused as they gathered up, eventually being forced away from the wolves. "Do you know who we are? We are part of the Lightning Gang! We are grabbing those wolves for our boss so scurry off!"

"Nobody knows your stupid lightning gang!" Adrian said

"Lightning Gang? More like- " Gorbin struggled to find a comeback so he opted to give the group of men two middle fingers.

"You are disrespecting our gang? Our boss will make a meal out of you all! Although goblins are sure to taste like trash" the man said

"Lets just fuck them up and take the wolves!" one of the lackey's said

The man nodded before he pulled out some brass knuckles and said "Alright last chance to leave of your own volition, otherwise you will be leaving here on a stretcher!"

"Last chance for you to rethink your life choices, you chose a very shitty career path" Gabbie said with a frown.

Adrian casted his Berry Bomb as he prepared for a fight. The two goblins jumping on their wolves.

"Try not to harm the wolves too badly, we still need to give them to the boss" the man said as he charged towards Adrian's group.

Adrian quickly used inspect and noticed these men were all average thugs none of them being over 0 rank 5 stars of combat power, however they did outnumber them.

Adrian quickly threw out his berry bombs, two of them landing on the thugs causing them to scream in pain, holding their chest. The other missed but that was bound to happen.

Gorbin charged towards one of the thugs, this one a more burly beastmen as he hopped off his wolf. The wolf pounced on top as Gorbin flew threw the air landing right on top of the beastmen's face kicking it full force.

Use of weapons inside the city was not allowed, so although they had their weapons if they used them they would get a lot more than just a fine. Although fighting was also outlawed they couldn't just let the wolves get stolen now could they?

Gabbie took a more tactful approach as she had the wolf attack the two thugs that Adrian had already injured, hoping to remove them from the fight. As she was running past the leader though he turned sideways punching the wolf in the side with his brass knuckles causing it to yelp in pain.

Adrian threw three more berry bombs all towards the leader and he blocked two of them hitting his arms as he grunted in pain. Three other thugs began to surround Gorbin as another one helped the boss to attack Adrian.

Things were really looking bleak as they were all starting to get surrounded. It was not surprising considering there were eight thugs and they outnumbered Adrian's group two to one.

"Stupid goblins should have just given us what we wanted," one of the thugs said as he punched Gorbin in the face, another holding his arms back as a few were trying to hold down the wolf.

Adrian tried to summon more berry bombs but the boss had already approached him and swung with his fist saying "Dumbass magus, you should know close combat is your weakness! Our boss is much stronger than you!"

The fist landed right in Adrian's gut causing him to groan in pain as he crumpled to the floor. As he fell he heard Gabbie grunt as she was most likely just beaten as well all of them were taken to the floor. There were just too many enemies!

"STOP RIGHT THERE!" A shout was heard as the clinking of armor approached their position.

"Shit! It's the guards, let's scatter!" a voice was heard

"Grab those idiots and let's run!" the boss said as the thugs grabbed the few of their companions who were unable to move as they ran away from the approaching guards disappearing into the alleyways.

The crowd that was now watching this scene began to part making way for the guards approaching Adrian's position.

"What happened here?" a guard asked, looking at Adrian and company who were crumpled on the floor.

One of the bystanders who had been there since the beginning explained what happened and the guard looked at Adrian who was starting to stand up and said "Take them into custody for fighting in the city."

The other guards closed in on the group as they put them all in cuffs even the wolves were not spared as they were placed in chains as they began to be led away.

Adrian coughed still feeling the pain from his earlier fight and said "We were defending ourselves!"

"Doesn't matter! If you had any issues you should have called the guard to solve them. There is a strict no fighting policy in the City"

They were slowly dragged as they headed towards the city prison.
