She's heart-broken and continues working on the birthday party that her company is in charge of organizing when she meets her ex's boss. Adonis 'Havocbringer' Kane is not someone people cross lightly. He's the youngest Mafia boss and hides his dealings behind his extremely wealthy and thriving family business. He's not one for parties and is known to go to any lengths to get what he wants. He has many enemies but no one dares engage him because of how quickly he's known to deal with 'problems'. When Leah first sees him, there's an undeniable pull she feels toward him. He's strong, charismatic when needed and extremely possesive as their meetings become more frequent. Leah doesn't want another relationship and doesn't trust him but it makes seeing her ex in the same premises for the next two months so much more bearable.

Chapter 67

Clara had slung her bag onto her shoulder full force and her tall heels were making loud noises on the floor as she rushed to the door.

"I'm coming to pick you up."

There was a confused pause on grandfather's end.

"What?"

"I'm coming to pick you up, Grandpa."

"Wha- me?"

"Yes, you." Clara swung the large door open herself and stepped out, her security personnel rushing to aid her.

She waved them away before motioning to one to bring her car out to the front.

"I need to see you, grandpa. You're safe with me."

There was another long silence on the phone as Clara Kane walked swiftly to the elevator at the very end of the corridor. Her attendants flew forward to press the button and several others rushed down to make other arrangements.

Grandfather was still on the phone, "Of course I am."

Clara knew there was a smile on his face.

"I can't wait to see you, my little angel."
