Seung stood amidst the ruins, his heart pounding against his chest. The wind blew softly, carrying the weight of the unspoken verdict that had yet to be revealed. His gaze flickered to the President, who approached him with a slow, measured stride. His expression unreadable, the President crossed his hands behind him, pausing at Seung's side.
"This place…" the President began, his voice low and contemplative, "used to be one of the most bustling neighborhoods in the country."
Seung's eyes followed the President's gaze. The ruins stretched before them, a ghost of the past—crumbling buildings, debris scattered across the ground, remnants of lives once lived here. He could almost imagine the laughter, the vibrant energy of the streets, now silenced by the aftermath of the first monster attack.
