Chapter 7 - Boom?

The forest in which Arius had been staying in's peace had come to a short pause. This pause was due to loud explosions that would echo through the forest in sporadic intervals, Thai had continued for the last half a day.

Somewhere close by on a tree branch, someone was watching a counter jump every so often.

"This is working super well Bro! I'll be done in no time. The hardest part now would be to kill the chief." Arius had planted mines in the forest surrounding the goblin encampment, and each mine could kill anywhere from 1-3 goblins patrolling the forest around their encampment.

Such bombs yielded good progress but, Arius is unable to find the remains of many of the goblins. Resulting in a loss in SP. this method was inefficient to say the least and downright wasteful to say the most.

The commotion caused by such violent, unwarranted, and randomly occurring explosions had made the goblin chief on guard. The goblin chief's first response to this problem was to send out scouts, this ended poorly. The conditions the scout came back in were none, they never came back. Tracking down their bodies would bring you to a small crater, with three charred corpses at the bottom.

(Goblin speak)

("Who would try to bring ruin to me! They should DIE, DIE, DIE. Sholu, my champion, go find and kill the one turning us into black bodies!")

("Yes… Chei~f") the one named Sholu responded to goblin Cheif Orbiz.

The preparations for the final act were almost done. Arius was currently zipping from one tall tree to the next and noisily dropped before a group of goblins. "Oops… hi, um didn't see you there"

"Just save yourself." Bro sighed at this situation.

Arius had been practicing jumping to and from the trees to stay quiet and stealthy. This had just now backfired right as he started to get the hang of it.

("Kill filthy human!")

A group of 4 goblins, uncoordinated but together, charged Arius. They even had catchphrases such as "for the chief" or "Please don't kill me back" but the best battle cry of them all was "I don't want to get hurt so please die!". The ferocious battle cries had little effect on Arius as he notched an arrow.

seconds later the goblins were either on the ground or halfway there, all having arrows out of their necks or hearts.

The last goblin of the four, before touching the ground screamed an unintelligible cry. But nothing screamed back.

*that's odd. Wonder if there was a reason for it.*

Going back to practice after retrieving his arrows Arius zipped off.

'Shake, Shake'

Moments later Sholu emerged from a nearby bramble. Casing the area with his eyes Sholu could only find four copies of his lesser brethren.

"Chei~f will be proud, of 'our' achievement" Sholu slurred out with a smirk. Moving to further shade his prey Sholu charged a path threw the forest.

"Hey Arius, I think we should calm down for today. finish the mission tomorrow." Bro suggested to a know tired Arius.

"No… I must keep… 'deep inhale' practicing" Arius was frantically practicing almost as if he was on a timer or in a race.

"GO to SLEEP, please" Bro was worried that Arius would hinder his practice if he practiced too much! Arius was giving himself almost no time to rest.

"Fine, fine… but after I complete the mission I'm heading into the city, you know Orario." Somehow Arius had wandered into the topic of a nearby city.

"And how do you know of this city?"

"One, it's on the extremely poorly labeled map I got, plus I read the manga for this world," Arius stated matter of factly. "Anyways, where's home?"

"Go northeast" Bro responded, " I think"

It was a beautifully lit night with a luminous moon hanging in the sky. Or it could be considered beautiful until an ugly 104cm tall green, Goblin Champion named Sholu appeared.

He was about 7 meters from a cave, Arius's cave. And slowly creeping forward.

'Snap'

A loud sound echoed in the cave, which was close enough to be grabbed, as Sholu stepped on a branch.

"Oopsie didn't mean to big snap." Sholu said imitating the way 'lesser' goblins speak.

Arius was awoken with this laod snap
