Chapter 7

Inside a large library Eleri woke up with her head lying on a desk and she slowly sat up straight as she rubbed her eyes

Stunned she saw that her surroundings were filled with books and bookshelves which seemed to be a library

She couldn't help blinking several times as she muttered "Am I in heaven?"

'Ahhhhhh! There's so many books I love it!'

Finally she couldn't stand it and immediately went to collect books

She always had a thing for books especially for novels and now seeing that she was in such a large heaven like library she couldn't resist the temptation and immediately went to pick out books

Humming happily she picked out the books of William Shakespeare and Dazai Osamu when suddenly she noticed an old book that was out of place

Picking it she saw that it had a black cover with golden lines and letters with the title [Story of Zeus]

'Zeus? The greek mythology God?'

Curios she also placed the book in her pile of books

Draven: [Are you perhaps forgetting something?]

Hearing Draven's voice Eleri was nonchalant and tried to think what he meant, the moment she realized it she froze and could only say "Fuck…I forgot I was still in a game"

[Haha she is hilarious is she really an anchor?]

[She actually forgot that she was still inside a dangerous game]

Suddenly seeing a bullet screen she was stunned and asked in her mind 'What are those?'

Draven answered [Those are the bullet screen of your live broadcast]

'My live broadcast?'

Draven: [Yes. You are now currently an anchor of the game where other players watches you journey of each game, unless you die then the screen will immediately turn black]

'Then will they see everything I do and happens?'

Draven: [Not necessarily, there will be times when the broadcast would be blocked by the tower if it is private]

Eleri sighed a relief as she heard this but still frowned and clicked her tongue as she thought 'How annoying'

-Ding!

-Every dreamer please gather at the center of the library in 20 minutes for the announcement of the game!

Hearing the mechanical voice prompt Eleri was annoyed but still walked away trying to find the center of the library whilst holding a pile of books in her hand

Eleri stopped on her tracks as she suddenly saw a faint black small silhouette running

Frowning she followed the silhoutte

Just as the silhouette turned right she followed behind but then--

Bump!

"Oww…"

Eleri held her temple as she opened her eyes and saw a boy with slight curled black hair with bangs covering both eyes as he wore a beige colored school uniform

At the corner of her eyes she saw the small silhouette running away farther and farther away until she couldn't see the back anymore

Eleri thought 'It got away' she then stood up and picked up the books as she helped ythe boy stand up and said "Sorry I wasn't looking at where I was going" in sincere tone

The boy waved his hand as he said "No it's fine really"

Staring at him she asked in her head 'Is he a player or an NPC?'

Draven: [He is an NPC of the game]

'I see'

"Uhm, are you familiar with this place by any chance?"

Hearing this the boy looked at her and hesitantly nodded

Eleri smiled as she scratched her cheeks and said in an embarrassed tone "If you don't mind, can I ask where is the center of the library?"

"Ah sure. I can also lead you there since I'm gonna pass by it anyway"

"Really? Thanks a lot"

The boy smiled and nodded as he said "You're welcome, come on"

Eleri nodded but had a hint of doubt in her heart

There's something about this NPC that makes her feel something is amiss

'Draven, what kind of NPC is he?'

Draven: [Sorry but information is invalid and cannot be told]

Eleri sighed regretfully in her heart but followed behind the boy.

Several minutes later they finally arrived at the center of the library and Eleri said "Thank you, if it wasn't for you I would've been lost there"

"It's nothing really and it's a pleasure to meet you, Ms…?"

"L, you can just call me L" Eleri stretched out her hand

"Dion" He said as he shook hands with Eleri

"What a unique name"

"Yeah I get that a lot"

-Ding!

- 5 more minutes before the quest ends

Hearing this Eleri bid well to Dion and so did he as they both left in opposite directions.

As she walked she saw that there was still a second floor with two wooden stairs as people were gathered in the center

Seeing her coming Kyle waved his hand to her as he said "Took you long enough"

Eleri smiled lightly as she said "Got lost"

-Ding!

-Time limit is over. For those who did not arrive in time will be eliminated

After the words fell the sound of head exploding sounded but none of the people screamed. But that still did not made the fear of everyone still alive disappear, only Eleri and Kyle were indifferent about it

-Ding!

[Task: Survive for seven days]

[Side Task: Find out the truth of the story of the owner of the library]

Hearing the prompt Kyle furrowed his eyebrows as he said "The owner of the library?"

Eleri hummed as she said "Maybe among these books the owner of the library has put in his or her work"

Hearing this everyone present couldn't help having expectations in their eyes at Eleri thinking she might provide them some information

Eleri and Kyle neglected their gazes as Kyle touched his chin and said "Probably…By the way, what are those books?" he asked pointing at the pile of books in Eleri's hands

"Oh these? It's just some books I was interested in"

"You like to read books?"

Eleri hummed meaning to say yes and Kyle's eyes gleamered as he said "Me too! Who's your favorite author? Mine is William Shakespeare"

Eleri's eyes also gleamered in excitement as she said "Same! My favorite book of his is the < The Tempest > it was such a lovely novel especially that it includes magic and songs! What about you?"

Kyle snapped his fingers as he said "That's a good one too! But my favorite is still the most popular novel which is the < Romeo and Juliet >"

Eleri hummed as she said "Touche I mean that novel is just both lovely and tragic but I might say that Romeo is a little bit of a fool don't you think?"

Kyle hummed as he said "Hmm, I'm not certain since I haven't experienced love myself"

The audience and players who listened to them talking about books casually: "…"

The players who could only listen to them talk nonsense could only reluctantly walk away to search for clues

Once Eleri and Kyle were left alone Eleri was still smiling but asked coldy "So, why did you ask to pair up with me"

The atmosphere immediately turned tense and the audience couldn't help eating popcorns as they watched this

Kyle smiled as he said "Nothing in particular I just thought you were particularly interesting"

Eleri raised one eyebrow as she said "Oh? How so?"

"Back then in the train I smelled something from you and at first glance I could tell you are not ordinary"

Hearing his words Eleri frowned as she asked in her head 'Is this being filtered right now?'

Draven: [Yes.]

Eleri nodded as she said "How?"

Kyle didn't said anything but raised his hand as he said "Ability Activate: Beast Form"

[Ability: Beast Form]

[Description: Allows user to change any part of their body into a beast werewolf]

[Requirements: Ability only lasts 10 minutes]

Suddenly Kyle's right arm turned into giant claws with soft gray hair

Eleri was stunned and muttered "Werewolf?"

Kyle smiled as he said "Correct" and his hands turned back to normal

He then said seriously "Although you could've killed everyone in the cart you didn't despite your power, why?"

Hearing this Eleri said "Is killing everyone required?"

Kyle was slightly stunned as he asked "What?"

Eleri ignored his gaze and said while looking at the book "You see although humans are cruel that does not mean we should to- no to be exact I didn't need to kill them so I didn't that's all it is to it"

Kyle narrowed his eyes lightly as he said "Really? But, why could I smell that even before you became a player--"

"--You already killed countless of people?"

Whoosh

Eleri's eyes flashed a dangerous glint as she said "So?"

Hearing this Kyle smiled even more as he said "Oh? Then are you not denying what I said?"

"I'm not denying it, happy now?"

Kyle narrowed his eyes before he smiled innocently and said "It's nothing"

Eleri snorted coldly as she passed by him and said "I'm going to read now if you'll excuse me"

Just as she was about to go she stopped and said coldly with a smile "Also don't get in someone else's business will you?"

Saying that she left and went to find the a table.

Kyle who was left couldn't help laughing as he said "She's pretty bold huh"

In his live broadcast the bullet screen couldn't help sighing as they said;

[He's gone insane again]

[But he's right though that woman is pretty bold to speak to him like that]

[Or maybe she's just a fool]

[The one upstairs I doubt what you said]

[Based that their conversation was filtered it should be very interesting]

[No doubt this is gonna be an interesting game]
