Victory?
The body of the mud monster splashed over the cave and Sassy fell hard on the ground with a few burns on her skin.
"THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!" Both Kai and James voiced out as Kai's duplicates began to dissolve.
"Hahaha! I really messed up! What kind of attack was that?" Sassy said as she remained on the ground, unmoving.
"You guys are really impressive! The next generation are really growing beautifully." Teresa said as a smile appeared on her face but it quickly disappeared upon seeing the mud starting to gather behind Kai.
"KAI!! BEHIND YOU!!" She warned as the monster tried to attack Kai from behind.
"Shit.. I don't have any mana left!" James said and gritted his teeth.
Hearing the sister's warning, Kai immediately engulfed his hand in flames and swiftly turned, about to punch forward. But that was unnecessary because the monster was already frozen in its tracks and covered in snow.
"You..." Kai said as his gaze shifted to the person responsible.
"I'm going to make the person who did this to my brother pay. But first I must pay for doing as he said and not thinking for myself." Noah said with a sour expression as he looked at the sorry state of his brother before turning to Kai.
"Your names is Kai, right? My brother and I have committed many heinous crimes, I'm tired with my current way of life and this is one of my ways for atoning for my sins. I'm turning myself in." Noah said in a single breath.
"Sure" Kai just voiced out.
"After I've served my term and have been set free then I'll." Noah paused mid sentence as if thinking of his next words while narrowing his gaze down.
"You don't have worry, I'm sure people will like you. Also, thanks for helping me!" Kai said so with a soft smile on his face.
Noah was surprised by Kai's words before saying, "Thank y---" Noah stopped mid sentence as he fell on the ground.
"Huh?" Kai wondered why Noah suddenly fell to the ground and saw the reason why. Noah didn't fall on his own, a bright light like lance impaled his body, causing him to fall. In other words, he was attacked.
"What is that light? An enemy?" Kai thought as he shifted his gaze towards a bright source of light in the air.
From what he could make out of his vision, he saw two silhouette in the middle of the light and they were standing on a black oval object floating in mid air.
"What the? This magic power is off the charts. I've never felt this powerful!" James thought as he stared at the bright silhouettes.
Without warning, a white lance suddenly impaled James' hands and legs.
"What? I didn't see anything!" James thought as he fell on the cold ground.
"JAMES!! What the hell happened?" Sister Teresa voiced out in shock.
"KAI! Come this way!" She called out and Kai responded with a nod before arriving at her back.
She immediately manifested a huge mana barrier around them to protect them from the spells. However,
The barrier immediately shattered as several light lances penetrated through and impaled the sister.
"Old Sister!!"
"Old Hag!!"
Kai and James voiced out at the same time as Kai swiftly rushed towards the sister's side. Looking at her condition, Kai frowned.
The lances impaled through her forearms, legs and her stomach. Her condition was quite serious as she was profusely bleeding from her wounds and blood was flowing from her mouth.
"Hey! are you okay?" Kai asked worried about the elder lady.
"Don't.... worry about.. me, I.... still have some life.... left.... in me." She responded with a weak smile but that just made Kai enraged and his forehead twitched in anger. Not her though, but the unfortunate bastard who suddenly attacked them.
With a fierce look, Kai looked towards the enemy who was nonchalantly standing in the black oval object floating in mid-air.
Now that the light has disappeared, he could see their faces and he immediately recognized one of them.
Standing in the left on the object, was a a lean built man within his mid 20s with wavy grey hair and he was wearing the white hooded robe of the Night Eye. Kai recognized this man as the spatial mage that attacked the city.
By the other hand, he didn't recognize the young man standing beside him. The man looked like he would be around his early 20s, he had effeminate, bushy silvery-white hair, dark green eyes and a black tattoo above and under his right eye. He was wearing the same white hooded robe of the Night eye but he didn't wear the hood.
What Kai considered was that the mysterious white haired man was carrying Sassy like she was a princess. But that wasn't the problem, the problem was he was able of carrying her from her initial position without any of them noticing. Therefore,
"Who the hell are you?!!" Kai asked with a shout. It wasn't only a question but also a demand.
"How rude of me... I haven't introduced myself yet, have I? The white haired man said before adding, "My name is Micheal, the leader of the Night Demon Eye!!"
"You're kidding, right?" Kai's words came out as a whisper. To think the enemy's leader would suddenly reveal himself.
Micheal shifted his gaze from the group below and fixed upon his comrade in his arms.
"You have suffered this much pain.... Sassy, I'm so sorry." He apologized.
"My Lord!" Sassy mumbled as Micheal's hand suddenly touched her cheeks.
"She said she wanted to visit her old laboratory, so I sent her here. But I had no idea things would turn out like this." Miguel explained to his lord.
"You don't need to feel responsible for this, Miguel." Micheal said before adding, "Unexpected situations like this occur no matter you do, Even so it doesn't affect our plans." He stated calmly.
Seeing that the men before him were just nonchalantly chatting, Kai knew this was his chance to strike. Kai slowly charged up a ball of flames in his right palm while hiding his hand behind his back.
Ready, Kai took a throwing position, ready to unleash the fireball in his right palm. But
"Like that would work!"
A voice suddenly spoke out behind him, he recognized the voice and it surely wasn't Teresa or James voice. Looking backwards, he saw Micheal behind him.
"How did he appear behind me without me knowing" Was what the dumbfounded Kai was thinking but a beam of light suddenly slammed into his back and sent him flying, snapping him out from his thoughts.
