Dragon Devourer System

Note: The main character is male. The novel is written in 3rd person. I never could guess life would be this terrifying. In the past, I was a high-ranked adventurer looking for riches and fame, fulfilling every request of the Adventurer's Guild and gaining a substantial prestige. I still remember the old legends from my hometown, the legends of dragons, absolute beings who even the gods fear. And now, it seems I somehow got reincarnated into a dragon. ------------------------------------------------------------- The artwork does not belong to me and if anyone knows the artists of this work, please let me know and I will credit them. The Impaler of Gods

Karma. The historians were divided on whether the Impaler of Gods carried out the orders from The Temple and beheaded the one hundred thousand children, but one thing was certain. After that day, her beliefs were shaken. There was no other plausible explanation.

The Empress, and in the future, the Impaler of Gods, was no longer the orphan who had devoted herself to the Gods.

One day, The Temple invited the Empress to visit one of the Gods's Shrines. It was the Shrine dedicated to the God of Forge. It was unknown whether the invitation was sent because The Temple suspected something was wrong with her.

Perhaps, they had already decided to get rid of her, and they were moving on to the next candidate. Whatever the reason, debating it was pointless, because although the Empress stepped into the Shrine, the person who left the following day was not her.

It wore the same luxurious clothes and had the same attractive face, but it was all stained with golden blood. The usual coquettish and attractive aura that she usually exuded were missing; in their place, killing intent adorned her expression, and a deep thirst for blood shone in her delicate eyes.

However, she was not alone. She dragged from the Shrine an enormous body with one hand, while holding a large spear in the other. A purple aura surrounded her figure as she silently walked toward the city's walls. Later on, this day would be known as the New Beginning.

Shortly after, the Empress made a shocking announcement: The Temple was banned. Even the sole mention of them or being seen praying to the Gods was punishable with death.

Large spears were placed on the outside walls, one of which was already occupied. The spear went through his insides to show the tip above his head, impaling a very tall and ridiculously handsome man. Under the man, the words "God of Forge" were glowing in a purple light.

Over the years, the wall of Karma was known as the Graveyard of the Gods. Many more spears became occupied, turning the gray wall of stone into a majestic but brutal golden wall.

Initially, the citizens were fearful, and some even fled the Empire to begin a new life in a more secure Kingdom. However, after the Empress revealed the many atrocities committed by the Gods and the way The Temple supported them, they became the main force opposing the Gods.

The Empire became widely recognized as the Enemies of the Gods, with their citizens feasting whenever their Empress added a new body to her collection. They even began to develop and produce divine weapons, forbidden artifacts capable of killing Gods.

Nevertheless, on a fateful day, the Gods and their mighty Divine Army descended into the world, beginning the mightiest battle that the world of Jamkar had ever seen.

The Empire's Army, led by the Empress, fought fiercely and valiantly against the Gods and their Divine Army, but their efforts were futile. After a battle that took ages to conclude, the Impaler of Gods was defeated.

She was not strong enough to fight all the Gods at once, let alone command her forces at the same time.

However, although the war ended, there was not a clear winner. Golden and red blood splattered across the battlefield, and dead bodies lay everywhere. The Empire was annihilated and destroyed. Not even the children were spared from such a fatidic fate.

The Gods who remained, although few, took the decision to hide the Impaler of Gods's body in the depths of the crater that was once the bustling city of Karma, never to see the light again.

Although they were not aware due to the Abyss's miasma decreasing their sight to the point of being blind, a group of sinister ethereal creatures had surrounded the little white dragon and the massive silver dragon.

A purple glow emanated from their bodies, as if they were spirits, and their shape changed constantly, resulting in bizarre figures. Fortunately for the pair of dragons, the spirits did not have any malice, instead following them merely driven by their curiosity.

They were the remnants of the Empire's Army soldiers, who had bravely fought and died against the Divine army. They had been cursed, their spirits forced to wander the Abyss for all eternity.

After descending for hours, finally the dragon scent became stronger, causing the Old Dragon to rush in its direction. A couple of hours later, a small light appeared on the horizon, and the silver dragon quickly dashed through it, appearing inside what appeared to be a cave.

The cave walls were of a dark purple stone, tainted by the miasma of the Abyss, but it also had large pieces of crystals that glowed with an intense but beautiful light. If the place was not inside the Abyss, one might think it was something out of a fairy tale.

The small light that Jacob and the Old Dragon saw from outside the cave came from the crystals that illuminated the cave, allowing them to regain their sense of sight and orientation.

However, they did not stop to rest, as the Old Dragon could smell a dragon's scent coming from deeper inside the cave. He wanted to quickly find the missing baby dragon and get out of this damned place as soon as possible.

Despite this, his mind was filled with doubts. He could not figure out how her egg ended up here. Even if her egg fell into the Abyss, it would not land in one of its caves, but instead would be crushed with its remains splattered across the floor when it reached the bottom level.

Jacob had remained silent the entire time, as he was told by the Old Dragon, fearful that something in the Abyss would detect his presence and kill him. But he was about to break his silence, because the System suddenly came to life and sent him several horrifying Alerts.

[Host has been detected to be in the Abyss. The System recommends Host to leave immediately.]

[Host is near the bottom level of the Abyss. Host is advised to leave as soon as possible.]

[The System has detected a presence rushing toward Host. Calculating danger level…]

[Level of power… monstrous. Danger level… divine. It is strongly suggested that the Host commit suicide.]

Hope you enjoy today's chapter!
