The Z-Sword

On the world of the Kai's, Goten throws multiple fast paced strikes with weighted chains on his arms and legs while the Supreme Kai watches, amazed at how fast he has adapted to the gravity of this world. Kibito then joins him, amazed as well but still doubts the mortal.

"With all do respect, but do you really believe this boy can beat Demigra with the power he has shown us?" Kibito asks.

Supreme Kai just smiles.

"Take a moment and look at him, Kibito. Really look at him. The power that he is holding back, that is bubbling underneath the surface." Supreme Kai says.

Kibito looks at Goten for a moment, sensing the power he's been holding back.

"This boy may be mortal, but he has the strength, the will, and the heart to protect his world from the likes of Demigra." Supreme Kai says.

Kibito continues to watch Goten training, still being unaware of just how strong he is.

Meanwhile, Trunks(in his Super Saiyan form) his knocked through a forest by Super Vegeta. As the young Saiyan struggles to his feet, his father appears behind him, a few scratches on his face.

"I know the reason behind your frustration. It's because of Gotens improvement, right?"

Trunks eyes widen for a moment, surprised to hear this from his father.

"You've been the strongest between you two for so long. You were born with talent and strength, even stronger than I was when I was your age. But you have to understand, it's easy to improve when your a low level fighter."

Trunks clenches his fist out frustration.

"But... what makes him strong? What makes him better?" Trunks asks.

Vegeta sighs.

"The samething that made his father strong. He doesn't fight to be the best, or to hurt or kill his opponent. What he seeks, is self improvement and to protect others."

Vegeta then walks over and puts his hand on his son's shoulder.

"You must find your own reason to fight, my son. Don't chase after someone else's strength." Vegeta says.

Trunks thinks for a moment, before getting a determined look on his face and standing to his feet.

"Let's keep going." Trunks says, powering up his Super Saiyan form.

Vegeta smirks, jumping to Super Saiyan two and prepares himself for another round of sparing.

While that's happening, Gohan stands infront of Piccolo, who does the multi-form technique to surround Gohan. The Saiyan takes off his glasses and prepares himself. The many Piccolo's charges at him, with Gohan easily taking them out with fast strikes, causing them to disappear. One of the Piccolo's then fires a ki blast, causing Gohan to redirect it back to him. The real Piccolo then appears behind the Saiyan, going in for an attack, but Gohan cuts off his arm with a chop.

Gohan is caught off guard by this, being caught off guard by what he just did.

"Piccolo! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"

Piccolo smiles.

"It's alright, Gohan."

Piccolo quickly regrows his arm, causing Gohan to breath out of relief.

"You're as strong as ever. You've been training in secret, haven't you?" Piccolo asks with a smirk.

Gohan rubs the back of his head with a smile.

"Well, I have been keeping up with training a little, but not as much as I probably should. Honestly, I've been feeling guilty."

Piccolo is confused by this.

"Guilty?" Piccolo asks.

Gohan then sits on the ground and sighs.

"It feels like I've been selfish. Here I am, living my life almost without a care in the world, while my little brother has been putting his life on the line to protect everyone. He shouldn't have to take on these burdens- not while I'm here, right?" Gohan says.

Piccolo then sits next to Gohan.

"You're being too hard on yourself. You and Goten are different in a lot of ways. You never liked fighting. The only reason you started training in the first place was because you have to. Goten however, chose the path of a fighter. Just like Goku, he enjoys the challenge, and battling strong opponents... you both are allowed to do what you want in this world."

Gohan's eyes widen when he hears this while Piccolo stands to his feet.

"Come on. Let's go another round." Piccolo says.

Gohan smiles, standing to his feet and the two take fighting stances, while Vidal watches from inside the house.

At Capsule Corp, Bulla and Bulma work in the lab on a special suit for Bulla.

"It's nice, spending mother and daughter time like this. I was surprised when you suggested the idea of a power suit. Using Blutz Waves that are in a full moon like this, is a really good idea."

"Well, the Blutz Waves need to be kept to a minimum and in a concentrated amount. Otherwise I'll turn into one of those disgusting giant apes, dad told us about."

Bulma then notices a sad look on her daughters face.

"Hey, what's up with you? You haven't cracked a smile all day, you love this kind of stuff."

Bulla stays silent for a moment.

"A few days ago- in the fight with Hatchiyack... I kept getting in the way. Dad, Trunks, and Goten had to keep protecting me. I didn't want to go through that again, so I started training with dad... but I'm not like the boys... I can't even talk with friends, not in the way I talk with you, or the way I talk to Goten... I'm not like anyone, both normal people or Saiyans. I don't want anyone to think I'm weird. What's wrong with me, mom?" Bulla asks.

Bulma sighs, putting her hands on the side of her face, whipping away her tears.

"Bulla listen to me, and listen well. That brain of yours... it's not a curse. You hear me? It's a blessing." Bulma says.

"Well I don't want to be like this. Trunks isn't like this." Bulla says.

Bulma smiles.

"Well, your brother takes more after his father. You take more after the Briefs. Sooner or later, you will find out that your intellect is one of your strongest assets. Never forget that. This project of yours, use it as an expression of yourself. As a canvas to illustrate your intelligence." Bulma says.

Bulla soon smiles at her mother's words.

"Right." Bulla says.

Back with Goten, he follows Supreme Kai and Kibito, confusing the Saiyan.

"Hey Supreme Kai, where are we going?" Goten asks.

Kibito looks over at the Supreme Kai, unsure about the samething.

"I am also puzzled, Master." Kibito says.

Supreme Kai smiles stopping for a moment and turning to Goten and Kibito.

"We're bringing Goten to retrieve the Z-Sword. It'll help him in the battle against Demigra." Supreme Kai answers.

Kibito is shocked when he hears this while Goten is confused.

"What's the Z-Sword?" Goten whispers to Kibito.

"The Z-Sword?! You can't be serious, Supreme Kai! How can a mere Saiyan do what the Kai's could not?! Not even you were able to free the Z-Sword!" Kibito yells.

"What's the Z-Sword?" Goten asks again.

"I'm fully aware of the Z-Swords power. And I'm certain that Goten is the right person to wield it." Supreme Kai says.

"But what is the Z-Sword though?" Goten continues to ask.

"Master, please. Have you really thought this through?" Kibito asks.

"I see no harm in trying, Kibito. Let's continue walking, Goten follow me." Supreme Kai says.

Goten is still confused about what exactly is the Z-Sword, but if it'll help him protect everyone, he doesn't care. As Goten and Supreme Kai fly away, Kibito scowls.

"He won't pull the Z-Sword out. I guarantee it." Kibito says before following them.

Soon, Goten, Supreme Kai, and Kibito make it to a giant rock pillar.

"We're here." Supreme Kai says.

They land on top of it, facing a sword that is plunged into the rock.

"This- Is the Z-Sword."

Goten looks at the sword for a moment.

"Now, try to pull it out. No one has been able to lift it. If you do, then you'll be the first." Supreme Kai says.

Goten kneels down, staring at the sword.

"The first one, huh? And what's supposed to happen when someone manages to pull this thing out?" Goten asks.

"The sword brings out its masters deepest hidden power. The two become one weapon, capable cutting down the mightiest of foes." Kibito answers.

The Saiyan smirks, preparing his hands and grabbing the sword, trying to lift it but can't manage to pull it out, causing Kibito to smile with satisfaction.

"Don't be too discouraged by not being able to pull out the sword. Others greater than you have tried." Kibito says.

"Kibito, we all had our chance to lift the sword, now give Goten his. Give it another try, Goten." Supreme Kai says.

At that moment Goten stands up, taking a deep breath.

"Nope, it's no good. I can't lift the sword the way that I am now." Goten says.

While Supreme Kai is shocked, and Kibito smirks, Goten powers up to Super Saiyan, surprising them both.

"Aw, this must be your Super Saiyan form. I've heard stories but never seen it in person before." Supreme Kai says.

"You might be stronger than before, but it still won't be enough I'm afraid."

Goten smirks, grabbing the sword again.

"Let's see." Goten replies.

He plants his feet, grits his teeth, and lifts with every ounce of strength he has. The rock begins to crack, stunning Kibito. With one last giant pull, Goten finally retrieves the Z-Sword, shocking Kibito.

"Goten! You did it!" Supreme Kai says.

"The Z-Sword is free!" Kibito says.

As Goten holds the Z-Sword, he has an exhausted smile on his face.

"Piece of cake." Goten says.
