Duma's forces close in

"Landing in 14 seconds," the Intelligence program says.

"They're coming after us," Trunks says, while keeping his barrier up.

Goku and Pan brace for a battle.

Duma frowns as they land on the mountainous area:

So, what are they trying to do? He wonders.

"Go after them. Don't lose sight of these guys," he orders.

Some of the 7 shuttles accompanying his land on the surrounding mountain tops while the others surround the team's shuttle.

Duma's forces rush toward the team, and their shuttles start firing at the barrier Trunks raised.

"That's one tough barrier," a soldier says. He turns on a communicator that sends his report to a device Duma's holding in his right hand.

"Commander Duma, sir we can't bring that blasted barrier down."

Duma frowns, "Get me down there now!" He orders the pilot.

Meanwhile inside the shuttle, Goku senses that the strongest of them is quickly approaching.

"Shuttle has sustained minor damage," the intelligence program announces.

"Why are they still firing at us?" Bulla asks as she sweats, "We're not attacking them, so why aren't they just leaving us alone?"

Some of his forces run into the barrier and explode, causing some cracks in the barrier.

"No way," Trunks' pupils dilate.

"What is it Trunks?" Goku asks.

"These guys are crazy," he replies.

Pan confused asks, "Huh? What do you mean?"

"They're self-destructing, to bring the barrier down," he explains.

"They're what?" they ask in unison.

"You mean..." Bulla panics.

He nods, "They're killing themselves to break the barrier."

"These guys are nuts!" Pan says.

Meanwhile, Duma descends from the docked shuttle, hovering above his rushing army.

"These idiots are finally putting some effort," he frowns.

That barrier is sturdy. They must be incredibly strong to keep it up when I've lost so many demons.

"I guess it's all up to me, as usual," he aims his opened palm at the barrier-protected shuttle, "This should open it up."

As he readies to fire, Trunks turns super saiyan to strengthen the barrier meanwhile Goku uses instant transmission.

Duma fires but Goku deflects it.

"Impossible!" Duma's pupils dilate and his jaw drops.

Incredible. So this is Trunks' super saiyan Pan's eyes quiver.

"Why are you coming after us?" Goku asks Duma.

This is ridiculous, before me stands but a child...

"Who are you?" Duma asks, "Are you getting in my way, protecting those in that shuttle?"

Goku frowns.

"What are you doing on this planet? You don't look like the Rai, how long have they been sheltering you?"

Goku remains silent.

"Answer me!"

"Tell your men to stop firing at us, then we'll talk."

"What? You are a member of that shuttle's group?"

"I told you: tell them to stop f--"

Some of the demons shoot at Goku, but he dodges them.

"Hurry and tell them to stop, now!!"

Duma begins to smile, "Bring down that barrier," he points at it.

The demons cheer and rush the team's shuttle, and suddenly explosions start ringing all around.

Goku frowns and his clenched fist starts quaking slightly, he turns and yells, "Sto--"

Duma attacks him with a jab, but he manages to block with his forearm.

"Focus on your opponent, child," Duma smirks.

Goku turns super saiyan and the shockwave from his aura push Duma back a few meters and trips the demons below.

"Wha-- Did that twerp do that?" One of them asks.

"Who cares?!" another shouts, "Our job is to blast that shuttle to smithereens! Let's go!!"

"Yeah!!" They shout in agreement.

"Grandpa's keeping their leader occupied, but those other guys are coming for us," Pan says.

"We need to get out of here," Bulla says.

Meanwhile a distance away from the mountain where this battle is raging, an alien boy in the village which seems to be experiencing winter notices that smoke is rising from that mountain:

What's going on there?

Meanwhile, an elderly alien journeying up the mountain feels the shockwaves of the explosions and the loud cheers:

Oh dear... What could be going on up there? Sounds like a war.

However, on a distant part of the planet in a busy urban area, a group of aliens are discussing an intelligence report .

"So, Duma and his demon forces are in our solar system?" One of them says.

"We have been preparing for this, since three years ago," Another replies.

"True, but with 12 shuttles, we can't really hope to win."

Another alien rushes into their meeting and yells, "Duma's forces confirmed to have reached the planet!"

"What?"

"When?"

"A few moments ago."

"Where are they?"

"They appear to be engaged in a battle, 7 hour journey hence."

"Engaged? By who?"

"Unidentified, sir."

"Scramble the infantry."

"Get eyes and ears on the ground."

"Ready laun--"

"That's too drastic! We must get further intel beforehand!"

"These are Duma's forces! There's no time to waste."

"Hasty decisions could be suicidal!"

"Enough," one of them yells and silence settles in the meeting room.

"Duma's still engaging, right? Then, gather the infantry," he says.

"But elder..."

"We're dealing with Duma, true, but we have a protocol that's effective for a different situation than what's going on. So, we must ready our response for the envisioned situation, not jump the gun... Right?"

Soon, muttering fills the room.

"We agree. We were not thinking strategically. Sorry, elder."

The elder gets up, with his hands behind him, he looks off toward the battle at the mountainous area:

Duma... So, this is what Nedra has decided: eliminating us?

Meanwhile at the battleground, the demons start climbing over the barrier and explode, weakening the barrier.

"Damn these crazy guys are slowly wearing the barrier down," Trunks says, "Bulla, are we ready to go?"

"Working on it..." she replies.

"If only we could knock them out," Pan says.

"Yeah, I know, but Goku doesn't want you getting hurt out there Pan, so you have to stay put, ok?"

"Ugh, why doesn't grandpa trust I can hold my own?"

"It's not really about that Pan."

She frowns and clenches her fist and runs toward the exit.

"Hey, Pan... where are you going?" Trunks asks.

"Don't worry, if they manage to break the barrier, I'll blow these jerks away."

These skinny jerks won't destroy this spaceship. We need it to go on the rest of our adventure!

"Shuttle, are we ready?" Bulla asks.

Meanwhile, outside the barrier-protected shuttle, a few mages in the force start a ceremony to teleport one of their warriors into the shuttle.

They chant and the magic circle glows and the warrior standing in it vanishes and appears right in front of Bulla.

Her eyes open wide as she lets out a loud shriek. As he's about to punch her, Trunks gets between him, but his barrier falls apart and the exploding demons severely damage the shuttle.

Goku hears the louder explosion and turns around to see the shuttle heavily blown:

What happened? Pan!! Trunks, Bulla... No!!!

"I told you to keep your eyes on me!" Duma lands a cross on his face and Goku falls to the ground, where the demons pounce on him and explode.

"Trunks... what happened?" Bulla asks as she tries to stand.

"I forgot to concentrate on the barrier. Sorry," he apologizes, "You're ok, though, right?"

"Yeah."

"The damage is too severe, we won't be moving for a few days," she says.

"Then, let's find Pan and get away from here."

"Right."

Goku transforms into Super Saiyan 2 and blows the rushing demons away.

If they could do this much damage, then... Pan!

As he flies over to Pan, Duma blocks him, "So, you had even more power?"

"Tch... I don't have time for this—move!"

Goku lunges at him.

"My men have their orders, and I'll have my fill: defeating a child with power that possibly rivals my brother's."

Duma rushes to attack, too.

"You guys have done enough!"

During their exchange, the demons nearest the shuttle are blown away.

"You jerks!!!" Pan yells.

The demons laugh and rush toward her, but she starts to charge energy causing the mountain to start quaking and some of the demons move as if in a vertigo.

"The hell is she doing to us?" Some yell.

"She's not doing it to us, she's causing some sorta earth tremor that's making it hard to stand," a demon explains.

"Mages! Do something!" One of the demons nearest the mages instructs.

Goku uses instant transmission to get in front of her and blasts them away with a single attack.

"Pan, stand down," he tells her but is focused on the laughing demons, "You go with Trunks and Bulla and get to safety."

"Grandpa, I can fight."

"No, Pan," he yells and sensing Trunks and Bulla coming out of the shuttle, he calls "Trunks!"

"Sorry Goku, one of them seemed to teleport into the shuttle itself and tried attacking my sister. I got sloppy."

"Don't worry, get them outta here. I'll handle these guys."

"Right."

"But grandpa, you need ba--"

"Enough Pan, stay with Trunks."

Trunks, while carrying his sister turns super saiyan 2, "Come on, Pan."

Duma fires an energy blast at them, but Goku flies and deflects it.

"Get outta here!!" He tells them.

Behind the demons, the mages activate a position-swapping magic circle after chanting.

Before they take off, Bulla's switched with a demon.

"What??!" Trunks is startled.

"Mmwa!!" the demon attempts to kiss him, while it explodes in his arms.

Trunks is able to block the surprise attack and falls on the ground among the demons.

"Thanks for coming back to us, hot stuff!" they laugh at him.

"Tch," he frowns and grates his teeth.

While Goku's fighting Duma and Trunks is warding off the demons' relentless suicide attacks, the mages shackle Bulla and take her into one of the dungeons.

One of them telepathically informs Duma, "We've captured one of them. She's now in the dungeon, sir."

"Good," he replies.

"Little one," he smiles at Goku, "We've captured one of your friends. I'm honestly surprised that one of you got captured by those weakling mages."

"What are you talking about?"

"Trunks, what happened?" Pan flies over to him.

"They tricked us... somehow, they were able to kidnap Bulla!" He tells her.

"What, they got Bulla?" she frowns and flies overhead and calls out, "Bulla!!! Where are you??"

"Help—Pan, Trunks," Bulla yells from one of the shuttles.
