Vampires vs. Spawns.

"Scrutiny has been activated." The system informed her the moment she activated the skill. quickly, she began scanning the humanoid silhouettes surrounding them.

name: High-level vampire spawn.

category: Undead.

Evolution: possible. [ A spawn can evolve into a vampire after drinking the blood of the vampire who originally turned it into a spawn.

vampire spawns are created when a vampire slays a mortal with its bite. The spawns are controlled by the vampire who created them and are usually brutish, strong, and stupid.

After reading the information about the spawns, she realised a vampire was behind this attack. She only had one person in mind who she felt was capable of something like this.

The spawns started running forward,seeing this the others began hauling out different attacks, trying to injure as many as possible before they closed in on them.

Elena was engulfed by a white shining light as she equipped the dragon set Armour. On her hand was the sword of flames. As she took a battle stance, the blade of the sword was covered with flames.

The guards were already engaging the spawns. The vampires were outnumbered greatly, rushing forward two of the guards with similar ability squatted while placing both hands on the ground. Activating their abilities, the ground underneath the feet of five of the spawns began sinking like quicksand. In just a matter of seconds, all five spawns were completely buried without a trace. and then they proceeded to harden the soil once more.

Emiera was fighting without a weapon. All she had on was a blue armour set, one that was made from steel and stone crystals. she created a wind blade as she moved in to attack. Seeing the incoming attack, the spawn placed both hands in front of its head, creating an x shape.

when her wind blade made contact with the spawn, it cut into its hands, creating a deep wound. seeing the little blood that came out of its body, the spawn lept forward in a desperate attempt to attack Emiera.

Carefully calculating her next move, unlike the spawn, Emiera activated her ability at the perfect time,creating an invisible wind blade, she cleanly cut off the head of her opponent, killing it right on the spot.

At another area, not too far from where Emeira's battle was taking place, Elena and Aruh were both using fire attacks to take on their opponents. Swinging her sword of flames, she ran into the midst of 4 spawns who were trying everything possible to reap her apart, while engaging with the three in front of her, one had latched onto her leg from behind, trying to bite her with its fangs.

Alas, her armour set was perfect for countering external attacks.so she ignored the one that had attached itself to her leg knowing fully well it will be unable to penetrate her armour,if anything the spawn was just a great annoyance to elena and nothing more.

Thrusting her sword forward, she used her flame sword to pierce the head of two of the spawns together.the moment she pierced through their skulls, their entire bodies were engulfed in flames.

pulling out her sword, she bent her body slightly, facing the back she created raw vampiric energy, she then proceeded to send forth the energy blast toward the spawn that had latched onto her leg, as the energy blast made contact with the spawn, it blasts the spawn several feets away, smatching it into smithereens.

Quickly returning her focus on the opponent in front of her, she could see Aruh had already used his flame whips to trap the spawn. The body of the spawn was slowly being consumed by Aruh's flames.

Not waiting for a moment, she ran into another place where the spawns were concentrated in the moment. she made her way towards Zareth and Xen. All though they were both great fighters, fighting so many spawns at once without the use of an ability will tire them out quickly, as they would need to depend solely on their vampiric energy to fight.

Right now, Zareth had created a giant mace like weapon from condensed vampire energy, he was swinging it from side to side, with precise aim and the right calculations he was able to land clean hits on the spawns using the spike edges to pierced their skulls.

Xen, on the other hand, had sustained quite the injury as she didn't put on any armour for reasons best known to her. currently, she was bleeding from a cut mark in her thighs. Though the cut was deep, she continued fighting relentlessly.

[Whoosh] "Blaze has been activated." elena activated her skill and began blazing through the battlefield with her sword stretched outwards, cleanly cutting through the heads of any and every spawn she came across, in less than a minute she had decapitated more than thirty spawns.

Due to her current speed and agility level, when she was using the Blaze skill, her figure would be a complete blur, cutting through the winds like lightning bolts. by the time she stopped running, the battle was almost over. It looked like a one-sided massacre.

Almost all the spawns were lying lifeless on the floor. Apart from the last few spawns, the team was still engaging. After a short while, the place where they had fought was completely silent. They were all exhausted. They needed to rest and regain their lost energies. For those in the mage ranks who had used their abilities in fighting earlier, they were low on mana, so they all decided on taking a quick rest in other to be on their full strength just incase they came across another creature.

Elena on the other hand,couldn't relate to either of them, she had relied mainly on the boost in strength,speed and agility her armour and weapon had given her, if anything she would conserve her energy and mana unless she really needed to fight with her life on the line.

They all sat together, not wanting to be far apart. while they were resting, Zareth had a troubled look on his face as he stared at the device on his hands. Elena was about to ask him what was wrong when she got a system notification.

Alert!!!

Emergency quest has been issued.

Quest description: Due to the loud battle noise earlier, your team has awaken a Lengendary beast.

Quest : Survive and try not to die.

Quest rewards : 1 instant level up. +1 stat point in all attributes. upgrade of any skill of choice.

seeing the emergency quest left a sour taste in her mouth, her strength has increased greatly, and with all the weapons, skills, and power she had, the system was simply asking her to survive.

Was the system joking or what? does it mean all of them put together would be unable to face one legendary beast and come out victorious? these were the questions bugging her mind currently.

"Guys! something is coming." Elena said in a loud voice. She said nervously, with her eyes moving from one spot to another, obviously trying to locate the legendary beast.

Hearing Elena's words, everyone stood up, adopting a battle formation, those without abilities were placed in the middle, while the guards and the students who had reached the mage Rank all formed a circle around them.

They had all drawn their weapons, including Emiera, who would normally fight with her ability only. no one wanted to be caught off guard.

not quite long, the ground began quaking, with each footstep from the beast the ground would quake, it was safe to say they were all scared. whatever was responsible for this would be difficult for them to kill. They could already tell even before seeing the creature.

with their sensitive hearing, they could hear the sounds of trees falling in the distance. Whatever was coming was strong and powerful enough to bring down several trees without stopping. and from the look of things, it was heading for their location quite quickly.

Elena wanted to suggest they outrun the creature, but what would that solve? the system had asked her to survive and not run. what if the creature had other means of catching up to them, wouldn't it be a waste of time running.

In a matter of seconds, the trees around them were thumbling over. They could see two giant tusks towering several feet above the trees that were still standing tall. with giant yellow eyes looming over them from above. seeing the tusks reminded elena of Elephants back on earth.

With a swing of the creature trunk, it uprooted the remaining trees, flinging it toward the vampires. They all managed to escape the incoming attack by narrowly escaping. only then did they get a clear look at the creature that was standing in front of them.

The creature looked a lot like the regular elephants back on earth with few visible features present in it body that the regular elephants didn't have.

four one thing the creature was as large as a six storey building. it had skin that was covered in furs. It had six legs, a long trunk, two tusks, and a spike like horn at the top of its head.

mere looking at the creature was sending shivers down their spines.the creature was different from what any of them had ever seen before. To make matters worse, it was super fast for it size.
