After sighing, Elena narrated all that had happened while she was in the maze. She had omitted some information,like when the sidhes had told her they were carrying out Alacads order.

she also didn't talk about the staff she had gotten from the sidhes. as for Zareth and Arwin, she simply told the instructors she had crossed part with them while in the maze by luck. She didn't want to leave them there to die after seeing their condition, so she decided to bring them back.

"What about the portal?" someone asked, turning her head to the side. She saw the person who had asked, it was the vampire with silver hair.

Elena stared at him for a while before responding, "I don't know how the portal came to be, I saw an opening and I decided to see where it lead to,anything was better than being in a confined space like the maze." she said with a tired expression on her face.

"I see. Well, thank you for bringing back my ward. the Antoine family and all of the first city will remember the great kindness you've shown towards Arwin today. In the future, if there's anything you need, don't hesitate to let me know."

It took a while for Elena to process what the vampire was saying. He was referring to Arwin. She was sure of this, not zareth. that means the person standing in front of her was none other than Lord Antoine, the Lord of the first city.

Looking at him closely, he looked more like one who was in his early twenties. but if elena had learnt anything since she arrived at zastlevania,it was the fact that looks were deceiving.

Another thing she noticed while looking at Antoine was the fact that she couldn't feel any aura from him, it was like he wasn't there, this was different compared to other vampires that had reached or evolve above the mage Rank.

they usually suppressed their auras in order not to overwhelm the lesser vampires around,but even at that,one could still feel the lingering presence of their auras.

But in Antoine's case, Elena felt nothing. with a simple glance,She knew he was special, even though she couldn't tell why.

"Elena, are you okay?" Gerald asked, hearing Gerald voice finally brought Elena back to reality. She had been staring straight into Lord Antoine's eyes without realising what she was doing.

Em, em I'm okay. she said with a forced smile. "I was only thinking about what I was going to ask for. I think I'll call in on the favour later in the future, how about that?"

Lord Antoine simply smiled before responding, "Anytime." Walking away from Elena, she decided to use her scrutiny skill on him. Her eyes had a crimson colour glow while the scrutiny skill was activated.

seeing the question marks Elena was convinced there was something special about Antoine,why couldn't the skill give her any valuable information about him? this was some of the questions bugging her mind.

Elena, you should go over to the healers as well to get yourself checked up. since we know what we are up against, we'll be able to save the other students in no time. Instructor Gerald instructed.

Elena stood up and made her way back to the V.i.p. students' living area. She was fine. Visiting the healers would be nothing but a waste of time.

right now, she needed to check the several system notifications she had received earlier. Entering into her massive room, she lay on the bed before opening up her system screen. Reading through the notifications with a wide grin on her face.

seeing this, she was elated. She was about to pick the yes option when she heard the voice of dracula. "You might want to drink your feel of blood before going through an evolution phase. Also, you need to lock your door properly as you would likely be in a vulnerable state while evolving."

hearing this piece of information elena moved out of the bed and locked the door and windows properly, before taking out two blood flasks from her storage device, she gulped down every last drop of blood from each flasks.

setting both flasks on the floor, she finally picked the yes option.

the host wishes to evolve. system will commence evolution in 1,2,3..... the system kept counting until it got to one hundred.

The system will scan the host body in order to choose the best possible part of evolution. Seeing this, she was confused. for one thing, she thought evolving simply means she would become a vampire mage with a random ability. but here, the system was talking about choosing the best evolution part.this means nothing was random, sucking in a deep breath, she hoped for the best.

Best evolution part detected. the host is advised to remain in a fixed location while evolution is in progress.

with the finale advice, the system's screen went blank, and she was beginning to notice a rising feeling of intense heat on her chest. it was as if someone had lit a fire in her chest.

the pain was severe. She was biting down her tongue so she wouldn't scream out loud and draw attention to herself.

Elena kept holding on, bearing through the pain, until the bones in her body began making a cracking sound. It was as if every bones in her body was being broken down and being rearranged at the same time.

this kept on for hours. She kept screaming at the top of her lungs,she was tossing and rolling around, at a point she rolled off the bed, hitting the ground with a loud sound.

but all of this was useless, as she could barely register what was going on around her, the pain was too much for her to take, she had never experienced anything like this, even when she was turned into a vampire she didn't experienced or felt pains of this magnitude.

After holding on for hours, elena finally lost her consciousness. she was out cold during the remaining hours of her evolution phase.

it was safe to say, since she became a vampire, she had a very high tolerance to pain,but the pain she had gone through was on another level even with her new found strength and tolerance to pains and attacks.
