"Nggh, yawn..."
Wang Shóu slowly woke up from what felt like a deep sleep, struggling to open his eyes as he yawned.
"Yawn... what happened?..."
Still yawning, Wang Shóu sat up and looked around, noticing the rocky walls surrounding him.
"Hmm, am I in a cave?"
He mumbled, but then his eyes widened as his brain finally registered the situation.
"Where's Xiong Yong and Zhuzhu?!"
Wang Shóu immediately tried to stand up, but the deep injury on his stomach caused him to wince in pain.
"Ouch!"
[Please do not overreact. Xiong Yong and Zhuzhu went out to scavenge for food. However, do not move your body too much. Even with your Pokémon physique, it will take some time to fully heal your injuries.]
Hearing this, Wang Shóu sighed in relief. "That's good to hear... By the way, how long was I out?"
[A whole day.]
"I see, so not too much ti—wait!" Wang Shóu finally reacted. "Did I just speak??"
He held his throat in surprise. Finally speaking after several years was a huge shock that he hadn't expected.
"Hey, system. Why am I able to speak?"
[Because spirit beasts that reach 10,000 years of cultivation are able to speak the common language known as Spirit Language.]
"Huh? How does that even work??"
Upon reaching a certain cultivation age, allow you to automatically speak a brand new language? That...does not really make much sense.
[The Creator God of the Douluo Dalu universe set a rule that all lifeforms would be able to speak Spirit Language, hoping that every race would live in peace together. So, after a creature surpasses a certain limit, it automatically learns this language, though it does not stop conflict between people.]
"...Explain humans who can learn it from a very young age then."
[The Creator God particularly "favors" humanity, so their first language happens to be Spirit Language.]
The system bit on the word "favor" heavily, as if disapproving of the Creator God's favoritism, but Wang Shóu didn't notice and just nodded.
That certainly explained why every creature could communicate with each other.
Well... if one ignored that Douluo Dalu was initially a book created in China, so it wouldn't make sense for the author to include different languages.
"But seriously, students back on Earth, especially myself, would kill for this kind of benefit." Wang Shóu couldn't help but get a headache when he remembered the time he had to learn Spanish and French in his past life.
"So, anyway. If each of my Pokémon reaches level 50, they'll automatically be able to speak it despite being Pokémon?"
[Precisely.]
"...Huh, okay. The system is pretty awesome... Of course, you're already awesome. This just makes you more awesome!" Wang Shóu quickly added, not wanting to provoke the system.
"Anyway, let's just rest and wait for Xiong Yong and Zhuzhu to come back."
Wang Shóu then rested his head against the soft ground but he thought of something and immediately sat up.
"I've reached level 54, so I should have already unlocked the new privileges, right?"
[Yes. After reaching level 50, you unlocked two new privileges.]
"Two? That's fewer than last time." Wang Shóu had a thoughtful expression. But since they were unlocked after reaching level 50, they must be good, right?
"So, what are they and what do they do?"
[The two privileges are the Item Shop and the Sixth Pokémon Slot.]
[The Item Shop allows you to purchase any items from the Pokémon world using BP. It has six categories: Held Item, Evolution Item, Food Item, Medicine Item, Battle Item, and Special Item.]
"Ooh, that's very good!"
Wang Shóu's eyes lit up. Items from the Pokémon universe were magical and useful objects that would definitely help his strength immensely.
From the names of the six categories, Wang Shóu could already deduce what they were.
Held Items are basically items that Pokémon hold, with effects that vary widely but are extremely useful.
Evolution Items are obviously for Pokémon that have special requirements to evolve.
Food Items should include Berries with various magical effects, often used as Held Items. They can also be used to make Pokéblock. The Food Items should also contain various ingredients from the Pokémon universe.
Medicine Items are used to restore Pokémon's health, energy, and cure status effects. They should also include Vitamins, which are extremely useful for raising a Pokémon's stats. And more importantly, Rare Candy, which allows Pokémon to level up!
Battle Items are consumables used during battle to boost a Pokémon sharply.
As for Special Items, it's unclear what type of items are included, but Wang Shóu guessed they were probably related to Legendary Pokémon or one-of-a-kind items.
"With this, my companions and I can grow much faster!"
Wang Shóu pumped his fist, but then he looked at his BP. "Only 5,000 BP from killing that Soul Saint..."
The Move Shop was very expensive, with prices ranging from 500 BP to 50,000 BP! It is likely that the Item Shop may be even more expensive.
"Drat. I'm so poor..." Wang Shóu sighed, wondering if he'd accidentally signed up for the "Lifetime Membership to the Poverty Club" in this life too.
"Let's choose my sixth Pokémon. I don't want to think about depressing stuff anymore."
Shaking his head, Wang Shóu asked the system, "System, show me the list of Pokémon I can choose for my sixth slot."
A second later, a blue list appeared, just as short as last time.
Looking at the list of Pokémon he could choose from, Wang Shóu couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.
"Well... This is certainly a nice surprise."
There were only ten Pokémon to choose from, but their identities are extraordinary!
"System, show me their information."
[Affirmative.]
Ten blue panels quickly appeared in front of Wang Shóu, and he began to read through the information.
[Dragonite]
[A Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon. It is a gentle and kind-hearted Pokémon, but not one to be messed with due to its immense power. [Tyranitar]
[A fierce Rock and Dark-type Pokémon that shares a striking resemblance to a certain Kaiju. It is practically a mobile natural disaster known as the Desert Tyrant, capable of changing the landscape with the quake of its footsteps. Tyranitar's raw power is almost unmatched, with just one hand capable of making mountains crumble. Tyranitar can Mega-Evolve, making it so powerful that it can shroud an entire continent in sandstorms.]
[Salamence]
[A Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon that achieved its dream of flying. Because of its desire to fly, Salamence's cellular structure changed to gain wings. However, it is prone to fits of rage, destroying everything in its vicinity until it tires itself out. It can Mega-Evolve, tearing through everything in its path.]
[Metagross]
[A Steel and Psychic-type Pokémon. It is a unique creature with four brains. Combined, Metagross can compute faster than a supercomputer, making it one of the smartest creatures. However, it is as ruthless as it is intelligent and is not to be provoked. Metagross also has the ability to Mega-Evolve, heightening its intelligence and power even further.]
[Garchomp]
[A Dragon and Ground-type Pokémon known as the Mach Pokémon. Despite its Ground-type, Garchomp can jump very high and glide with its arm-wings. In midair, Garchomp's speed rivals that of a fighter jet. It is also a constant competitor of Salamence for food. It can Mega-Evolve, allowing it to slice through anything.]
[Hydreigon]
[A brutal Dark and Dragon-type Pokémon. With its three heads, Hydreigon can bite through anything, devouring everything in its path. It is a Pokémon that knows almost nothing but destruction and is considered the incarnation of evil.]
[Goodra]
[A Dragon-type Pokémon that is very friendly and loves the rain. It is a very slimy Pokémon that attacks with its retractable horns and thick tail. Despite its friendliness, its horn and tail can attack with the force of 1,000 tons, making Goodra a force to be reckoned with. It is said that long ago, Goodra had a different form, wearing a large metal shell and possessing the Steel-type.]
[Kommo-o]
[A Dragon and Fighting-type Pokémon. It is a powerful territorial Pokémon, and when it detects enemies, Kommo-o rings the scales on its tail to threaten them away. A legend says that Kommo-o is covered in glittering scales to drive away a great darkness that once covered the world. Kommo-o has an exclusive Z-Move called Clangorous Soulblaze, which unleashes devastating sound waves while raising its stats simultaneously.]
[Dragapult]
[A Dragon and Ghost-type Pokémon with a unique way of fighting. It keeps Dreepy, the initial evolution stage of Dragapult, in the holes of its horns. In battle, Dreepy are launched faster than Mach speed, making them very dangerous. Dragapult can make itself and even the Dreepy in its horns invisible at will.]
[Baxcalibur]
[A rare Dragon and Ice-type Pokémon. It can blast out cryogenic air from its mouth, capable of freezing even erupting volcanoes. In battle, it recklessly launches itself at enemies by flipping upside down and spewing cold air, freezing the ground beneath it. Baxcalibur then slides upside down towards its enemy, finishing them off with its large dorsal blade.]
"I didn't expect that my sixth Pokémon would actually be a Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon."

A/N: Sorry for posting the chapter late. There was no wifi for a while due to its being unstable, so I wasn't able to write in the mean time. I hope you don't mind it. Anyway, comment to choose which Pokemon you want as MC's sixth slot.
