Chapter 50

Chapter 50 — Huge Improvement!

Ning Chen arrived at the Sunset Forest and he noticed it was beautiful and warm. However, it's sheer size and danger level couldn't compare to the Icebound Forest and Star Dou Forest.

He was able to quickly encounter some spirit beast after entering the outer area, but he ignored them because they were far too weak.

It was better for them to live and grow stronger for the future.

Ning Chen went to the inner area of the Sunset Forest and was able to meet a large Pit Demon Spider.

The Pit Demon Spider attacked him first and he fought back as result. He was then able to learn that Pit Demon Spider was great at controlling their webs.

He managed to severely injured the Pit Demon Spider at it's chest, but he decided to spare it's life because he currently had no use for it.

Ning Chen instead travelled deeper toward the core area, hoping to meet and spar with some powerful spirit beast to improve his combat experience and sword techniques.

After travelling for a few hours, Ning Chen finally arrived at the core central area while fighting against a Phantom Tiger and Armoured Unicorn along the way.

He then noticed a large mountain in front of him and quickly grew interested. He decided to head toward it, but then found a large formation surrounding the mountain.

Ning Chen didn't know why would someone create a protective formation around this mountain, but his curiousity quickly grew more as a result.

He touched the formation with his hand and felt nothing. However, after examining his body more carefully, Ning Chen saw something inside his energy pathways.

It was a deadly and also stealthy poison.

A poison that will target a spirit master's energy pathway and eventually destroy it.

Ning Chen continued to investigate the formation and saw it was only a poison formation with no detection or alerting function.

This meant the creator of the formation will not able to notice Ning Chen entering as long as he didn't tried to destroy it.

Ning Chen grinned largely and decided to enter this poison formation.

He slowly entered the formation and then stopped to make his body adapt to the poison.

His plan was simple and it was to slowly strengthen his poison resistance using the formation to enter inside without destroying it.

A stream of natural energy was absorbed by Ning Chen, nourishing his energy pathway along with his vigor.

His energy pathway soon started to wither because of the poison circulating inside, but quickly healed by two sources of energy.

After healing, his energy pathway gained some resistance toward this poison and it was also the same with his body.

Ning Chen continued advancing deeper inside the formation while doing the same pattern repeatedly.

It was an excruciating experience and people without a mind like steel can't even hope of withstanding this kind of pain. Especially, when the poison targeted the most sensitive energy organ of human — the energy pathway.

However, Ning Chen managed to exit the poison formation after spending two days inside it.

And thanks to his perseverance, his energy pathway benefited greatly. It became more sturdy and flexible while also becoming wider.

As a result, Ning Chen can now draw out a large amount of spirit power instantly without destroying his meridians, allowing him to release a powerful explosive attack instantly.

Ning Chen wandered around the mountain, looking for something while traversing difficult terrains.

Arriving at the very back of the mountain, he saw a dense poisonous fog covering the surroundings.

Fortunately, the poisonous fog didn't pose a problem toward Ning Chen with his great poison immunity.

Ning Chen walked inside the poisonous fog while breathing comfortably. He then arrived at the end and saw a large spring well with many beautiful herbs growing around it.

He frowned after arriving at this place that resembled a medicinal garden. The large well also contained two different liquids

A dense vermilion liquid with hot steams, resembling lava and a milky white liquid that felt cold.

The two liquids constantly restrained each other and Ning Chen felt something attracting him to the Well.

Ning Chen looked around the medicinal garden and was only able to identify a minority of the herbs even with his medicinal knowledge learned from Yu Qian.

However, he felt it was all expensive and also amazing.

Ning Chen inspected the herbs and was feeling lost. He wanted to take everything, but he didn't know the herbs and might also risk of alerting the owner of this medicinal garden.

If he somehow managed to handle the herbs wrongly, it might get useless and will not able to prove much uses to him later.

Ning Chen also have to consider on how to store all of it since there was chance it would quickly wither without the proper care.

Thus, he decided to just examined the things that attracted him and he soon found a single immortal herb.

It was a fantastic immortal herb with it's stalk and leaves all finely combed. At the top was a golden dazzling tulip that released a heavy fragrance of splendorous and majestic feelings. It's scent was also capable of expelling the poisons coming near it.

Ning Chen nervously touched the tulip with his hand and contemplated whether or not should he pull it out.

But if he kept over thinking about it like this, it would not get him anywhere and so he decisively gathered his courage and pulled the tulip out.

Fortunately, nothing bad seemed to happened to the tulip and Ning Chen sighed in relieved.

He then saw Kel'al, in its tiny state, appearing above his palm while still being sheathed.

It soon hovered around the tulip like a curious child.

Ning Chen was interested seeing this and didn't stopped Kel'al from moving around.

Swiishh!

Kel'al suddenly released a blinding nine-colored light as a small dragon emerged and coiled around it's sword body.

"Roar!" The small dragon let out a roar and then charged toward the tulip, devouring it completely.

Ning Chen was quite stunned, but then heard a joyful dragon roar and a delightful whistling sound echoing inside his head.

He stared at his sword and then saw something happening toward the pure white scabbard.

Several gems with different colours appeared at the middle of the scabbard and then arranged into a straight vertical pattern.

There were only three gems at the start with them being red, brown and blue. However, a green gem suddenly condensed and formed the pattern with rest of the gems.

Ning Chen unsheathed his pink crystal sword and saw it also changed.

It's crystal became transparent yet still shining so brightly. It's thin edges also became extremely sharp.

The dragon-shaped handguard between the handle and blade also appeared to become ferecious with its sharp gaze becoming bloodthirsty.

Ning Chen felt his mind receiving new information that came from Kel'al itself and learned that his sword experienced a minor evolution.

Kel'al had now the additional effect of absorbing blood to replenish his stamina and vigor as well.

Absorbing a large amount of blood will also have the chance of recovering his body and continued absorption will strengthen it.

It wasn't only his sword that evolved, the same was for it's scabbard.

The scabbard gained another ability, nay, to be precise it unlocked the ability Ning Chen didn't awakened in the past.

It was the scabbard's true second ability which was linked to his Green Dragon Spirit Ring.

The reason this ability couldn't be unlocked before was because of Ning Chen absorbing the wrong type of spirit beast.

However, he couldn't be blamed because the requirement was harsh and something he wouldn't think about.

The requirement was to absorb a plant type spirit beast and not just any normal plant type, but immortal herbs! It was rare and difficult to find.

The second ability of the white scabbard was called, Breath Of New Spring Wind.

It's effect was strange because it didn't affected Ning Chen despite still being a supporting type ability.

He was only able to use the second ability on other people and there was also a limit to it.

It was two times per year.

This ability can basically allow Ning Chen to unlock people's potential to it's maximum limit, but if by chance they went over that limit, shocking changes will occur.

It was a change, new path, a new fate — An evolution of existence!

Ning Chen was stunned and excited after learning this ability's effect. He could now after all make his father's wish come true!

The wish to evolve their spirit into the legendary Nine Treasure Pagoda!

Ning Chen was feeling happy. He was sure his family will also feel happy after learning this truth.

He was delighted, but soon calmed himself down because he still wasn't finished here yet.

Ning Chen looked toward the Well, feeling it attracting him. He wasn't able to feel any danger and just instead felt many benefits about it.

"Hmmm, let's see if my instincts are telling the truth," Ning Chen muttered and walked toward the Well.

He went toward the middle of the Well where he saw the hot Yang and cold Yin coexisting without mixing with each other.

Ning Chen started undressing and placed all of his belongings at the ground. Standing completely naked, he stared at the Well.

Splash!

He soon entered the Well, the vermilion and pure white water swallowing each half of him.

Ning Chen immediately felt the effects of the Well. Even with his monsterous body and great resistance, he was able to feel the poisonous Yang invading his body, burning him from the inside out.

The lack of air wasn't a problem since Ning Chen was able to breath inside the water albeit it was a painful sensation for his air passageway.

He then felt a cooling sensation entering his body and the cold Yin invaded his body this time.

It rapidly turned into a bone-chilling sensation that tried to freeze him, but It was soon suppressed by the hot Yang.

A raging war was currently happening inside his body as two opposite energies fought for supremacy over his body.

Ning Chen felt himself slowly about to get mad because of this intense pain and even losing his consciousness despite his strong mind.

He could have made things easier by not allowing the Yang and Yin energies invade his body, but it wouldn't give him the desired benefits.

In the end, Ning Chen decided to concentrate and allowed the two energies to invade him, refining his body.

Ning Chen could feel his cells dying by freezing and then burning completely, but it soon regenerated with stronger cells at incredible speed, his body showing it's powerful adaptability.

An uncertain amount of time passed and after his body adapted enough, Ning Chen gathered all of his spiritual force to control the two energies forcefully, keeping a balance between them.

The two energies quickly resisted fiercely, but Ning Chen's eyes transformed, becoming draconian, causing a powerful suppression to appear.

Four spirit rings also appeared around him, rotating slowly and suppressing the Yin and Yang energies.

Ning Chen was soon able to create an equilibrium and managed to contain both Yin and Yang inside him perfectly.

The two energies became gentle, slowly tempering his body and increasing his immunity to Yin and Yang. Although it was gentle now, it was still a painful experience for him.

Ning Chen slowly descended deeper inside the water with his spirit rings floating around him.

He then had the thought of also cultivating natural energy to make the body tempering effect better.

The natural energy slowly flowed toward him like a small stream and nourished his entire body, but once it came contact with the Yin and Yang, it showed some reaction.

And the reaction wasn't definitely good...

"What...!?" Ning Chen was startled to sense the surrounding natural energy suddenly becoming fierce and rapidly flowing toward him like a raging river.

The natural energy fought with Yin and Yang which also resisted, causing the water inside the well to also rapidly enter his body.

All of them were in a berserk state, fighting each other for supremacy again.

Ning Chen felt his body starting to break down after receiving too much berserk energies that fought with each other inside his body.

He tried to control them, but it was a futile attempt.

"....!" Ning Chen could only struggle painfully underwater as blood oozed out from his pores along with black wastes.

Crack!

Crack!

Ning Chen was then terrified to see his skeleton slowly crumbling apart, making his entire body go limp.

He was barely alive with his spiritual force, vigor, and spirit power keeping him alive.

It wasn't only his skeleton that broke apart — his veins, tendons, muscles, nerves, and meridian were also being destroyed.

At this point, the pain was so overwhelming that Ning Chen lost his consciousness swiftly after experiencing a complete body destruction.

However, his body soon got healed quickly by the several different energies, but only to be destroyed by those same energies.

It was like they were toying with Ning Chen.

Ning Chen experienced a total of nine complete body destructions and nine body rebirths.

Fortunately, the energies soon stopped destroying his body after his physical body became terrifyingly strong as a result of their action.

Ning Chen slowly woke up from his slumber and was glad to be alive.

He then started inspecting his body and realized he was completely different after surviving this calamity.

The delicate nerves travelling around his body were now very tough and super high-conductive.

His muscles was also more denser and permanently compressed together, making him have a strong muscular, but perfectly lean build now.

His body was now made out of pink muscles that didn't discarded flexibility, but instead reinforced it.

Ning Chen's bones also evolved to become tougher and even denser now. It was the same for his tendons to properly connect his muscles and bones together.

His meridians and various accupoints were also opened completely, causing his spirit rank to drop toward rank 40, but his spirit power capacity was now terrifyingly huge.

If a rank 40 spirit power capacity was like a small pond, then Ning Chen's own capacity was like a sea or ocean.

This was the result of all his meridians being opened and free of any impurities.

Ning Chen then realized that he had experience the so-called heaven-defying body reformation.

His entire body was changed with more higher, perfect quality parts which were free of any impurities.

He now had the most perfect, flawless constitution for wielding a sword and combat.

He also possessed an unlimited potential unlike the other species which had limited growth.

Ning Chen's perfect physique was even something all gods would feel jealous and covet.

He then summoned his four spirit ring and they all glowed brightly.

Ning Chen noticed that after obtaining immunity against Yin and Yang, his resistance toward fire and ice elements finally reached 100%.

This also caused his other elemental resistance to reached 100% because they all complemented each other.

The spirit rings entered back inside his body and he soon went out of the Well.

Ning Chen stood completely naked at the ground while still being wet. He felt his vigor flowing through his body vigorously with his dragon bloodline rising another level.

He looked around and then saw a faint four-colored fog covering his body and he immediately know what it was.

It was the prestige of a mighty dragon, The Dragon Aura.

It was the physical manifestation of his vigor or blood essence.

And it was also the next step after the instinct awakening of Ancestral Regression. However, Ning Chen's situation was a bit complicated.

It was better to call it as Bloodline Creation.

His Dragon Aura can make his attacks more domineering and also boost his physical capabilities.

It also raised the effect his Dragon Spirit Rings by 20%, but only the attributes enhancement.

Ning Chen examined his appearance and was slightly stunned to see his body. It looked flawlessly beautiful with perfect proportions.

He then took out a mirror from his spatial ring and saw his face being more sharper and handsome compared to before.

His short pink hair was now glowing brightly with his few white bangs becoming more apparent and filled with deadly cold Yin.

At this moment, Ning Chen can now proudly declare to the world that he was the most handsome man alive.

It wasn't also an exaggeration to say that he might be even more handsome than the God Of Beauty himself.

And if such a position truly exist, Ning Chen would like to sit on that throne

Foreshadowing? Perhaps.
