Fall of the Montrose's

After a brief discussion with Ian, Natalia hung up and re-entered the building. She was led upstairs to the PR team, and pitched her resume and qualifications. Once the interview was over, the committee adjusted her papers nicely and handed them back to her.

"Ms. Rose, your qualifications are good, but why do you have no prior work experience? We're afraid that without it, you won't be able to keep up with the others."

Would you really like me to give my real resume? Do you want to know how many companies I've destroyed or how many people I've killed?

Instead, an understanding smile spread across her lips. "I had some family issues in the past that prevented me from getting out into the working world. I also understand your concerns. Thank you for your time, I'll look elsewhere for an entry-level position."

With that, she turned on her heels. Just as she was about to exit, Sebastian entered. The committee jumped to their feet.

"Boss, to what do we owe this pleasure?" the Head of the PR department inquired.

He ignored them, and took his wife's hands in his, shocking the onlookers. "How did it go?"

"It's not the right fit for me. I don't know much about the latest devices, so I don't think I'll be able to promote them to their finest. Perhaps... I'll go back to S City and meet with Maxwell's shareholders. See if I can get on at White Rose Investment Group."

He sighed. "Makes sense. I'm sorry for wasting your time."

Natalia shook her head. "Not at all, Sebastian. But it is lunchtime already."

Getting her cue, he turned to the PR hiring committee. "Excuse us, I'm treating my wife to lunch."

Their eyes bugged. Wife?!

She smiled and walked out of the room, hand-in-hand with her husband. Once they were gone, all six of them dropped into their seats.

"Wife? How did we not realize Ms. Rose was Madam? If Boss learns we shooed her out, how will he punish us?" the Head of the PR department bemoaned.

One of the committee members reassured him. "Sir, she covered for us just now. I don't think Boss will find out. But, we are indebted to Madam."

Everyone sighed and shook their heads. "We've really done wrong this time."

Under the excuse of visiting White Rose Investment Group, Natalia left Z City and was driven to S City by Mr. Parker. He dropped her off in front of the company, and she walked inside. A few minutes after he had gone to park, a pitch black SUV pulled up. She exited the building and climbed into the car.

But little did she know that Martin had ordered Mr. Parker to keep an eye on her. So, he followed her. When she caught on, her eyes narrowed.

Sebastian, she thought. Don't think you can get away with lying to me.

Her eyes flashed up at the driver. "Ian, lose him."

"Yes, Ma'am."

They drove all over S City, down alleyways and on the highway. It took over an hour to evade the silver car. With the sliver of time they had, he took the quickest shortcut out of the city and up into the mountains. When they finally arrived at the compound, he parked the car in front.

The two of them entered and headed for the main hall. Just outside of it, she stopped.

"This is it. The final piece of my revenge. Who knew this ending could be so sweet?"

"Ma'am, they're inside, waiting."

She nodded and pushed open the doors. Immediately, she saw her two elder brothers facing the empty throne-like chair, kneeling with their hands tied with thick ropes behind their backs. Strolling forward, determination set in her eyes. Ian followed a couple steps behind. As she passed her brothers, they raised their heads only to see her straight, regal back. She climbed the dais, turned around, and sat down on the chair. Ian positioned himself on her right.

Her eyes fell on Alex and Spencer Montrose. "Well, well, well, long time no see."

Alex glared at her. "Natalia! What do you think you're doing?! Where are Mom, Dad, Mira, and Lulu?!"

"All of them?" she asked innocently. Then, her eyes hardened and her voice turned cold. "They're dead."

Spencer's eyes widened. "Dead? How do you know? Natalia, do you realize this is the headquarters of the Black Rose syndicate?"

"I know where we are. I know this place like the back of my hand. I also know that Maxwell, Adrianna, Mira, and Lulu are dead because I'm the one that had them killed."

"YOU WHAT?!" Alex raged. "B*TCH, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!"

"See?" she said innocently. "You all treated me so horribly as I was growing up just because I was illegitimate. It's the twenty-first century, how have you all not evolved yet? Don't think your scorn wouldn't turn me into a vengeful person. I vowed that one day, I'd pay you all back ten-fold for the transgressions."

Spencer seethed. "Father should've had you thrown out onto the streets when he had the chance."

"This is what I'm talking about!" she cried as she pointed at him. "I've never heard a kind word from anyone in the Montrose family, so why would I let you hypocrites go? When I joined the Black Rose syndicate three years ago, I started my revenge plan."

Both of her half-brothers' eyes widened as they breathed, "You're a member of the Black Rose?!"

She scoffed. "I'm not just a member of the Black Rose. I'm its Head."

They couldn't believe what they were hearing.

"Hence why I could order my people to kill your family. Because they're not mine. Not anymore."

Alex fumed, always the more headstrong one. Spencer, the more sensible one, started to put the pieces together.

"You mean to kill us too."

Natalia smirked. "But of course. You two know who I am. I can't let you reveal that to the world."

"Does your husband know of your secret?"

She shook her head. "Until he pisses me off also, he won't be finding out. Ian."

"Yes, Ma'am?"

"Take them to the Snake Pit and feed them to the pythons." As she stood, she added, "We're done here."

He bowed respectfully. "Yes, Ma'am."

"Natalia, HOW DARE YOU!" Alex roared. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS IN THE AFTERLIFE!"

"So what?" she asked. "I'll get to watch you be tortured in Hell too."

Spencer said, "Natalia, do you really think Sebastian Black will stay with you once he learns of everything you've done?"

"So what if he doesn't? I don't need the Black family. I don't need their wealth or status. As the Head of the Black Rose syndicate I'm richer than them and have loyal people at my beck and call. Who needs to bask in the light, when you can rule the shadows?"

Then, she strolled past her brothers and out of the room, never looking back once.
