chapter 21- Ice Element

James and others were sauntering cautiously as they moving deep in the sewers, as usually James was taking a lead and giving orders to the group if they are allowed to move freely or they have to be careful. but so far they haven't encountered any rats and that was a good sign for a group but still, James hasn't stop himself from wondering

' where are the rats it was almost half of the hour passed since we left the group but we weren't able to see any mouse even we made a noise intentionally' They didn't stop walking as they tuned from a corner James froze on the ground

more than 10 rats corpses were laying on the groundwater and when they walk past them they noticed some of them have wounds of the knife on their heads and some of them was hit by ice small spears... James observed closely at the bodies of rats and concluded that Maggy another F-ranked hero was still alive if we could join forces then we will be able to beat the final boss... but again he thought where was she?

As they roamed furthermore in the sewer, James senses Some kind of strong aura coming from a dark corner, he quickly raises his hand as if he gave orders to other F-ranked heroes, do not make any voice. every other hero gawks at James in confusion but as he gave orders they fall silent momentarily

James took a deep breath pointing his hand toward that direction but before he attacked that direction he called out " Maggy is that you? "

In an instant, Maggy came out of the corner as she looked at others with a greeting smile on her face. James lowers his hands and smiled back as he lets out a sigh of relief

Maggy looks at him in confusion as she thoughts ' so he thinks he knows ice abilities better than me.' again smiled tampered on her face, she asked him

" Do you know anything about ice element or just trying to be cool in front of me "

" you only know few things like hand blast, frozen surface and last time you utilized ice for only a Few weapons creation and that ice spare is waste of mana, if I were you I would have used all different kinds of weapons and other abilities that came with ice element "

Maggy looked at him in curiosity, as she asks again " What do you mean by other abilities "

Don stops on tracks glancing at his shoulders at Maggy before walking again

" Did you ever created ice spikes?"

Maggy face left wide open, a simple thing like spikes she didn't use in her attacks yet

" No "

" instead of using spears and wasting your mana, start using spikes, there are other advantages of spikes, it will consume less mana and also you can use Spike wave on the ground level attack for any enemy or just create as many as ice spikes in the air to attack your enemy... it will be hard at first but if you practice enough then someday you could create anything from ice "

Maggy was staring at Don as he told her A hidden or most important secret related to her ability but again for a moment she thought in her mind how can he able to know a lot about these powers. I mean it's common sense to use like this but...

" Ever heard of a frostbite attack?"

Maggy said like she didn't understand what he means " No "

" It's an attack using your all the mana to turn a tissue or muscles of opponents in an Ice, "

" I know that attack it was really hard to do that only A, B or S ranked Heroes capable enough to do that ...they called it Frozen breath "

Maggy instantly replied but It causes Don to glare at her in anger

" Only A, B, And S ranked Heroes... if you held that mindset then you won't able to do it even you managed to get S rank in the future "

She stuttered after hearing his words, she was unable to understand the sudden mood swing of Don, she tried to stay calm " I... am sorry. I will try my best in... future "

Don lets out signs and walked away from her, Maggy again approached near him but didn't say any word

" it's not that hard... You just had to clear your mind and focus on your palms but the most important thing was the ice manipulation is a belief.. you have to believe in yourself no matter what.. just know it if others could do it then .. why not you " After understanding Don what wanted to tell her, Bright smile placed on her Cute face walking behind him...

Suddenly Don turns back and pulled Maggy into the Dark corner as he holds her close to him and glaring at the distance like he was protecting her from someone.

Maggy first startled but after she saw Don's handsome face was so close to her, soft redness tapered on her face but she didn't avert her gaze from Don instead she leans toward him

Don was peeking from the corner as he saw few people approached but suddenly he felt Hot breaths of Maggy on his cheek, he looks back at her instantly and saw Maggy and his lips were only a few inches apart from each other, his heart started beating faster pace as Maggy's lips coming close to his but someone Called Maggie's name out loud

Maggy switched gaze at that direction and Don's hand around her waist that was holding her so close to him, Don followed her gaze and quickly pulled her hand, Maggy smiled in his response

" James.. probably he sensed my Aura " as she went toward them with a beaming smile on her face

James smiled in response as he saw Maggy and the other guy was safe and were in good shape. Another big reason for James to felt relieved after seeing Maggy was he knew that he can't able to protect everyone alone. he needs someone strong like a Maggy...

" So you guys were finally decided to join us " Maggy lets out as she looks at others, other F ranked heroes also Became less pressured or now felt safer in the Another D ranked heroes presence as they greeted Maggy with a smile

" I hope we are not too late," James said glimpsing back at other Heros

Don came out from a corner with a serious expression on his face, James looks at his empty hands "where is your dagger?"

" I hid it in my storage ring "

" wow so you also have a storage ring even you are F ranked hero " James glances at Don in Calm gaze

there is a possibility that if an F-ranked hero needs a storage ring then the Hero association could provide them but for that, they had to pay money 10000 $ for a one-ring...

Don didn't bother to clear the misunderstanding, he ignored him because he was too lazy to give someone an explanation...let alone a stranger like James, Don looks at his inventory in front of his visions, and unfortunately, there is only one spot usable until Don decided to put his dagger on the inventory...
