Shi Nian'an found that only her mother was at home, without even a maid, which made her feel a pang of sadness. She put on an apron to help out, "Mom, why didn't you hire an auntie? Didn't I tell you not to save money?"
Shi's mother smiled warmly, "You're here? I don't need to hire an auntie, I can take care of myself since I'm able-bodied, and it's quieter living alone. Where's your boyfriend? Left him outside by himself? Let me go have a look."
The mother and daughter came out of the kitchen to see Lao Hei sitting up straight on the couch.
Lao Hei wasn't completely clueless about manners and socializing, and stood up to greet her, "Auntie."
Shi's mother had seen him before when he helped Shi Nian'an move, and she had that feeling back then. She didn't expect he would really be her future son-in-law, even though back then Shi Nian'an hadn't started dating him.
