Time Passes and Stuff Happens

Friday, 27th July, Year 1349 of Fifth Epoch.

Early Morning.

Inside the Hendrix Residence.

We can see brown haired charming young man finish reading a book while wiping a tear out of the corner of his eyes. He then sits in silence like he is contemplating the mysteries of the world. He is very well dressed and is elegant like a nobleman with every gesture of his. Every action of his is perfect and calculated.

He then takes out a cigarette from his inner coat pocket. The cigarette lights itself and the man takes a puff of it and then relaxes, he then releases the sweet smoke into the air. If a normal person was here that person would find the smoke sweet but if the person releasing the smoke wishes that smoke can turn into a violent godlike calamity.

Obviously, the man described here is Maximilian Hendrix. He is sitting in the living room after reading something from his old world. The cigarette he is currently smoking is an Artifact he created called "Cigarette of Calamitous Destruction" corresponding to Red Priest and Primordial Demoness. This cigarette has enough power to destroy the world but the man smoking it doesn't care about that. He just likes the sweet smoke that he designed this for.

"Humanity sure is something to be treasured." He mutters under his breath and makes a smile after that like he is remembering something fun.

A lot of things have happened in the past two weeks.

Klein was given a mission to find Queen Mystic and arrange a meeting between her and Max, and also to find any Cards of Blasphemy he can.

Tarot Club held two gatherings during this time. At the first gathering, some rules had been established like a reward system based on contribution. Of course, no betrayal between members was a no-brainer. Since now they can all see each other clearly and might know their true identity.

Benson and Melissa ascended to Sequence 5: Mysticism Magister and Astronomer respectively. They also joined the Tarot Club last week as Mr. Tower and Miss High Priestess.th

Moretti siblings also decided to move to Backlund during this time. And they are getting settled at Unit 15, Minsk Street in Cherwood Borough. Some things just never change.

And with Max's help, Xio and Fors also ascended to Sequence 5: Discipline Paladin and Traveler. Of course, it was not for free. He has gone on a couple of dates with Fors and Xio during this time and they had a good time during it. Fors herself asked for Xio to accompany them, so obviously Max didn't refuse. They have all grown close with each other but not too much.

Max's "friendship" with Evernight has deepened to a new height. They are now fellow comrades that appreciate good stories. Though their tastes differ now and then, but that only serves to deepen their bond. He meets her every day, and just now he was reading that book because of that. They discuss their thoughts with each other when they meet in Tenebrous Heaven while also enjoying each other's company.

Eva and Melissa have met each other and they get along quite well. Their passions are quite similar. While Eva likes the mystical aspects, Melissa likes the scientific aspects of things. They get along because of how passionate they are about some things.

He also stole Arrodes from the Church of Steam and Machinery. Arrodes was quite happy to be of help to Max. The mirror was quite instrumental in the setup of some crucial plans.

While he is reminiscing about the past few weeks and smoking, a maid enters the room and brings in the coffee and places it on the table in front of Max.

"Thank you Maria for the coffee," says Max to the maid with silver hair and crimson eyes.

The maid bows in respect and then leaves the room in an emotionless manner while maintaining her silence.

"My sister sure is into this stuff." He mutters to himself.

The reason he mutters that is because his created two robot maids to assist the siblings with household stuff and chores. Their appearance was based on the Einzbern homunculus, because that's a very beautiful template for a person. The reason Eva knows about Fate is because she entered that hole because of her brother's insistence. Of course she herself was interested in stuff like that as well.

The two maids are named Maria and Anne respectively. Maria is the personal maid for Max, while Anne is the personal maid for Eva.

Maria rarely talks and is usually blunt with her thoughts when she does whereas Anne talks too much, Max doesn't know why Eva designed their personality their personality like that but he doesn't dislike it. It's refreshing for him to see different personalities in different beings.

Speaking of different personalities, now he has the entire city of Backlund under his control from the shadows through his marionettes and parasitized people. Only a very few beings know about this, but the royal family of the Loen Kingdom is not one of them.

Max is now waiting for his plans to come to fruition so that he can reach the peak of the universe and obtain everything without much opposition.

"Unlike this book, my story is not compelling at all." He mutters while caressing the book that he was reading just a few moments prior. "But I think it's better that way, compelling stories usually require some sort of sacrifice from the protagonist and I am not in the mood for something like that. Whether my story is compelling or not does not matter at all, as long as I enjoy it. After all that's the only thing that matters in the end.

"Why am I talking to myself? I seem to be doing that a lot these days when alone. Anyways this book proves that Saber simps have a point too, her story route is quite compelling." He continues after putting down the book on the table with a title that read Fate/Stay Night: Fate route.

He proceeds to extinguish his cigarette and puts it back in his inner coat pocket. (A/N: This is just the result of me playing the FSN VN again just recently so please don't mind it, my mind is currently lost in nostalgia.)

Just as he is about to continue his coffee, his spirituality alarms him of some unseen danger.

So that was the chapter, hope you liked it.

I am going to finish this arc much faster than previously anticipated. I feel like I am dragging this too long and I have changed some of the plans for the story. Story is dragging too much in my opinion for an MC that is too overpowered.

Also this novel of mine does not promote smoking in any shape or form, I personally hate it. This idea for the item just sounded cool for a way of attack in my head so here it is.
