Mu Hanxia had been standing silently beside, until the room finally quieted down. Lu Zhang turned his head to look to the side, not at her. But Mu Hanxia noticed that his cheeks were somewhat red; he likely had been drinking too. Mu Hanxia thought, so that was why he was so moody just now, one moment scolding her, the next defending her and yelling at that girl?
Mu Hanxia walked over to him, squatted down, and looked up at him. Lu Zhang's fingers, in the dim light, twitched slightly.
"Lu Zhang, what happened that's making you upset?" she asked gently.
Lu Zhang was silent for a moment, then turned his head and happened to see her clear, water-like eyes. The fire inside him, all the resentment and violent emotions, suddenly couldn't come out, and were stifled in his heart.
"It's nothing," he answered softly.
Mu Hanxia continued to watch him, and after a while, he felt a sense of inexplicable embarrassment and averted his eyes, no longer meeting her gaze.
