Chapter 1Binding and Death

My name is Aki. I am just about to meet my best friend Runar for the first time in many years. We have known each other since we were teens and have been best friends since. He has saved me many times and I have fallen in love with him and even though he knows and doesn't love me back nothing has changed between us. Today though I got him to agree to perform a magic ritual with me to bind our souls together so we will be together in every life we live. Even though I know magic isn't real I really want to try it out.

Later that night...

[Aki] Are you sure you want to do this? We don't have to if you are uncomfortable

[Runar] Come on it seems interesting. Also I like the thought even if nothing happens and we just wasted time.

[Aki] Alright then lets begin setting it up.

We both worked together to set up the magic spell. We drew a big circle with many runes around it and put candles around forming an 8 pointed star with us at the center. We lit the candles and began casting the spell.

[Together] Oh gods and goddesses of our world we call out to thee on this night. We ask you to bind our souls together so we may forever be together no matter what life we live. Twist our threads of fate together and let us never lose the other.

[Aki] Okay now here is the worst part. We need to cut our palms and let our blood drip onto the circle.

[Runar] Seriously?! You never mentioned that part

[Aki] Yeah cause I thought you would be afraid. That's why I brought some alcohol.

[Runar] Ugh alright fine but you owe me for this. Pass me the bottle and get ready to cut.

[Aki] Alright just let me know when.

Runar chugs half the bottle of whisky and holds out his hand as Aki slices his palm. Runar does the same for Aki after giving him a good smack on his head.

[Aki] Oww god did you have to hit me so hard?!

[Runar] Serves you right for not telling me before hand. Alright lets just finish this so I can bandage this and smack you again.

[Aki] God okay lets finish this as quickly as possible.

[Together] Oh gods and goddesses of this world we offer our blood to you in payment of our request. We ask you to hear our pleas and answer us.  So mote it be.

[Runar] Well that was a bust, now im gonna be healing from this for awhile.

[Aki] Yeah sorry, I shouldn't have wasted your time like this. Lets just go get some bandages and clean this up. Then we can play a game together.

Suddenly the candle flames increase in size to half a foot tall. We both hear a voice from above that sounds both male and female.

[???] We have accepted your offer and shall grant you your wish. Prepare yourselves because this will be painful.

Suddenly we both feel as if someone is ripping out our hearts and shoving it through a keyhole. Through the pain we both manage to see a small glowing orb floating over our chests. Then as if on cue the orbs both fly towards each other and begin to merge together. As this is happening we hear the voices start to speak again.

[???] We shall give you a blessing and grant you a seed. Make sure to grow and nurture it well.

Then what seems like a drop of golden sunlight falls from the sky and merges into our what I can only assume to be our souls. Right after this something unexpected happens. A crack in the air forms and sucks our merged souls into it. Right before we lose all consciousness we hear the voices speak again.

[???] Someone has interfered with this ritual?! We must try to save their souls! They need to live to help in the coming days.

After that it was only darkness.

Young Master's PoV: Woke Up As A Villain In A Game One Day

"Now you see?" she shouted in a mix of annoyance and disappointment. "You can't outsmart Scrients! They're the most intelligent beings across the two realms." "You're right," I muttered, averting my gaze with a heavy sigh. "I made a mistake. I was too arrogant to think that a mere human like me could fool them." —BOOM!! "Heik! Wh-What was that?" "Hmm? I'm not sure. Maybe you should go and ask the most intelligent beings across the two realms. Oh wait, you can't. I killed them all.” ______ My name is Samael Kaizer Theosbane. On the last day of high school, I got into a fight with a kid I used to bully. It was a stupid, pointless scuffle, and in the middle of it, I tripped and hit my head on a rock. That’s when the memories came flooding in - the memories of another life, of a different world. Suddenly, everything made a twisted kind of sense. I realized two things. First, I was in a game I used to play in my past life. Second, I was a villain. A villain! Not the cool and mysterious kind, either. No, my destiny was to be manipulated and die a dog's death! I was the worst type of cliché: an ungrateful, privileged, insufferable young master. The sort you'd find in those poorly written fantasy stories. The kind everyone hates — a snobby brat from a powerful noble family who thinks he owns the world just because he was born with a silver spoon lodged in his mouth. You know the type. The one the hero beats to a pulp to prove his worth. Yeah, I was that guy. And the hero? The hero was the kid I’d been bullying all this time. The same one I got into a fight with. He was the supposed savior of this damned world. A world teetering on the edge of destruction, beset by wars, calamities, and a grim future that only I knew. And at the end of it all, the final antagonist of the game, the undefeatable boss… the Spirit King, was waiting. But could I even make it to the end? Could I conquer a game where defeat was the only certainty? A game that was now my reality! “Ah, fuck it.” I had no idea if I could, but I sure as hell was going to try. Extorting extras, manipulating main characters, twisting the story to my advantage, stealing the hero’s cheat items, killing villains before they could become threats - nothing was beneath me. Would the main characters be affected? Who cares! Would the story change? Even better! All I cared about was me—my survival, my life, my choices. “I will live this life with no regrets.” …But as I soon discovered, fate was not easily changed. And the price of altering one's destiny was steep. ========== Discord Server: https://discord.gg/VjFQtDUaTR
