The fight (1)

"Gasp-!!" Nico woke up from his sleep, inhaling and exhaling heavily. He could barely breathe at the moment and there was a slight pain in his chest. After a while, when his heartbeat became normal, he calmed down and thought of drinking some water.

"Ugh, why am I having these dreams? I don't want to recall those painful memories." He closed his eyes, trying to calm his mind. "Just wait… Henry" His body radiated a murderous aura.

He got up from the ground and jumped from the roof of one building to the other. If a player witnessed him doing this, they would probably think of him as a ninja from animated series and movies, but to Nico, it was nothing much.

Soon, he arrived outside a large building that was heavily guarded. Carefully observing the guards' movements, Nico waited patiently for the right moment and swiftly went behind the guard at the back gate, using his stealth skills to avoid getting detected.

Summoning his spirit shackles, he strangled the guard, not letting him make a sound. Soon after, the guard's soul left his body and his corpse fell to the ground.

Nico inserted the key he got from the guard in the keyhole and slowly pushed the door open, not making a single noise. He stepped inside, only the spot several guards walking around. He stealthily went upstairs, arriving at the first floor. The area was massive, with a lot of facilities. There were luxury items placed everywhere to work as decoratives. Just by looking once, one could tell that it was a place for the rich.

Nico slowly walked upstairs, arriving at the second floor. There were not many guards here, however, it was still risky to freely roam. Slowly, he explored the area, trying to look for any clues. He wanted to find Henry's room. This was the perfect time for him to assassinate Henry.

After finding no clue, he walked up to the next floor, which was the third and the last floor of the building. 'Henry's room must be here somewhere…' Nico mumbled to himself.

For 5 minutes straight, he kept searching for Henry's room, but to no avail. Just as he was about to give up on his plan, someone opened the door of a room and came out. It was a middle-aged person who was insanely familiar to Nico. Suddenly, murderous intent filled Nico's eyes, but he immediately suppressed it. He didn't want to be found out.

He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself, and then looked back at the man. One thing was bothering him for a while now. 'How the hell is he still alive… moreover, why is he still the same as he was back then? Shouldn't he be an old man by now?' Nico thought to himself, his expression was that of a shocked person.

Henry started approaching him, completely unaware of Nico's presence. Nico clenched his fists, ready to strangle him with his chains. His eyes were fixed on Henry.

As soon as Henry walked past him, Nico jumped out of his cover and summoned his spirit shackles, aiming at his throat. Nico became relaxed as he saw that Henry didn't respond to the attack. 'Heh, you're weak.' He thought in his mind, a smirk forming on his face.

However, Henry suddenly whipped around, his smile sending chills running down Nico's spine. Instinctively, Nico retreated a few steps back. Even though he was confident in his power, he still trembled upon seeing Henry's face. Maybe it was his childhood trauma kicking in?

"Oh my, who sent you here to kill me?" Henry asked with a chuckle. Nico looked at his face for a moment before realizing, 'Oh… he doesn't recognize me anymore…'

"Hahahaha… So you've forgotten me, huh?" Nico laughed out loud. He retreated his chains back, preparing his next attack.

"Hm? Have we met before? Say your name, I don't have time to remember worthless fools." Henry replied, raising an eyebrow. He observed Nico's face but he was still unable to recognize him.

"Hah, I didn't think you'd forget about me this easily, Henry… After killing my mom, how could you forget me? But yeah, it's not your fault, it's been centuries after all…" Nico chuckled, sending his chains flying at Henry.

"Oh, you've got some skills…" Henry barely dodged the attack, taking out a sharp dagger. He swiftly leaped into the air, aiming his dagger at Nico's throat, but he was stopped mid-air by the spirit shackles.

"Struggling is futile! You can't escape now!" Nico tightly gripped Henry's body using his spirit shackles, not giving him any space to move.

"Hah, these toys can't stop me!" Henry's body suddenly disappeared, escaping from the shackles. Nico's expression turned from confident to shocked. How could Henry escape his chains? He was in utter disbelief, however, he quickly regained his calm composure, observing the surroundings and trying to find Henry.

He was prepared for a surprise attack from any direction now. Suddenly, Henry's body became visible again as he aimed for Nico's back. "Found ya!" Nico shouted, dodging to the side. He used his spirit shackles, trying to aim for Henry's throat, but Henry managed to dodge it.

"Hmm, you're a good opponent, I will say that." Henry said with a smirk. "However, you're still just a kid in front of me." He added.

"Oh, really? We'll see who wins, then." Nico replied, retreating his shackles.
