Goblin's Nightmare

Daniel lay inside the capsule, ready to press the start button and connect to the virtual world. He slowly reached out for the button and gently tapped it. A familiar voice rang in his head as always.

After a momentary wait, Daniel fell asleep and his consciousness was teleported inside the game. He was lying on the floor of his room in the inn. There were only 2 days remaining before he had to leave the inn or book the room once more. There was also a better option of buying a house for himself, but there was a problem.

The problem was his need for more coins. He had a lot of money in the real world, but money can't be converted into gold, but only vice versa. Daniel only had 1500 Gold coins inside the game, which was not enough to buy a house.

"Hmm… I need to buy a house…" He started thinking about it, but then he suddenly remembered that he had to leave this city soon. "Maybe I should save to buy a house in the next city." He concluded.

He was only 7 levels away from going to the next city, meaning he was currently at level 143. He quickly got up from the ground, greeted by Lumi's gentle voice.

"Nya~" she rubbed her body against his chest.

"I am back, Queen." Daniel giggled and picked her up, gently kissing her soft fur. Nothing in the world was as soft as Lumi's fur. Daniel just didn't want to let her go.

After a moment, he put her on his shoulder, rubbing his cheek with her cheek. He then walked out of the inn and headed towards the forest. He planned on grinding the rock cave dungeon all day before he could move to the next city.

"I have to level up faster, I am not even on the rankings." He thought, looking at the rankings after a long time.

He only bothered looking at the top 10 players on the rankings. He didn't care about the other rankers except the top 10. This was because the top 10 players were monsters. They were in a completely different league than the others. No one could take their position ever since the game was released.

"Time to go." He took out the teleportation book and picked the forest as his destination. Soon he was teleported near the entrance to the dungeon. He walked towards it and went inside.

Once inside, it became dark and hard to see much in the dim light. He took out a torch and lit it. With the torch burning, he could see his surroundings more clearly. That's when he spotted a bunch of goblins coming towards him.

The goblins rushed at him, waving their crude weapons. He gripped his sword tightly. The first goblin swung its club, but he dodged to the side. With one swift slice, the goblin fell to the ground.

More goblins charged forward. Daniel swung the great sword left and right, knocking them back. A goblin leaped onto his back, but he grabbed it and threw it against the wall. Another tried to stab him with a rusty sword. He acted faster than the goblin, piercing its chest in the blink of an eye.

The goblins swarmed in relentless waves. Daniel kept swinging his sword, slicing through the goblins' bodies. After a while, goblin bodies piled up around him. He had finally killed every goblin in the area.

He stood still, catching his breath. Goblin bodies littered the ground. He sheathed his sword and walked deeper into the dungeon.

The 2nd area was where the goblin warriors were. They were far stronger than normal goblins, but for Daniel, handling them was just a piece of cake.

He took out his sword, a wide grin forming on his face. Lumi was ready to fight as well. She cast buffs on Daniel and Curses on the goblins. Her strength wasn't to be taken lightly either. She could effortlessly kill the goblin warriors all by herself now.

Daniel had managed to level up Lumi to 25. He noticed that leveling up pets was several times harder than leveling up his character. He commanded Lumi to attack the goblins while he rushed at them.

Soon, he killed all the goblins in the 2nd area, making it to the boss room. He knew very well about the Hobgoblin's attack patterns and skills. It was going to be a piece of cake for him.

He gripped his sword in his hands, rushing at the Hobgoblin. After a few minutes, a notification rang in his ears as the Hobgoblin fell to the ground.

[Congratulations! You have killed the dungeon boss "Giant Hobgoblin"]

After this, another notification sound rang in his ears, which was supposed to be about the rewards, but it wasn't. He looked at the panel, slightly taken aback after looking at it.

[Congratulations! You have killed enough goblins to earn the title "Goblin's Nightmare"!]

"Woah!" only one word left Daniel's mouth after looking at the title description. He had never expected to get a title from hunting goblins. A 10% increase was a good buff for him when grinding in dungeons. He was in a really good mood now.

"With this, I am level 145, only 5 levels away from level 150!" He was determined to reach level 150 by the end of the day, so he went back to grinding once again.
