Distress Call

Adam meets his old university crush in a high-end restaurant and discovers her doing something unimaginable; trying to jump off the building. He manages to take her home and tie her down, in case she tries to do it again. However, when she wakes up, he discovers she was much different than the person she was while they were in university. Filled with renewed hope, he pursues her again and this time, he won't take no for an answer. Enter a serial killer into the equation, you know there's going to be drama. Warning; lots of angst and psychological elements but is still a refreshing read. There are also elements of capture so if you're sensitive to that, don't read too much meaning into it. Hope you enjoy it

Chapter 14

"Why did you leak my location?"

"Imagine my surprise after returning from my mission, learning you had brought a woman home and chained her to a bed. Twice. I was jealous of course. I knew you would survive so I used SOLEMN henchmen to try to get rid of her. That woman is like a cockroach, refusing to die"

"You tried to kill Giselle? Are you nuts?!"

"So, that's the cockroach's name. As repulsive as she is"

"How did you hire them?! Talk Isabella"

"Slow your horses boss. I talked to Adrien about my problem and he gladly lent me the men"

"Adrien knows about Giselle? What the hell is wrong with you?"

"If I talked to him, I was at least guaranteed to get her out of the picture so we could finally be together, Adam~~"

"So you're saying you put her life on the line because of some stupid infatuation you have towards me?"

"It's not stupid. I love you, Adam"

Adam stood up abruptly, his face darkening. He stretched his hand backward and the men there knew immediately what he wanted, handing him a weapon.

"Lower the chains"

"I knew you would understand. You would choose me over some stupid crush....AHHHH!!!"

Adam stared into her eyes as he clutched her throat in one hand and held the knife still lodged in her hand with the second.

"This is for betraying me"

Adam removed the knife and stabbed on another spot on the same hand, not too far from the first stab wound. With his hand on her neck, she couldn't scream and choked instead.

"This is for putting both my life and Giselle's in danger"

He removed the knife and stabbed again.

"This is for going to Adrien and telling him everything"

He removed the knife and brought it down for the last time, dangerously close to her major veins and arteries.

"This is for having foolish untoward thoughts towards your superior"

Adam's murderous intent swarmed out of his body like a tsunami and crashed into Isabella, who became truly afraid. Adam's temper was pretty good, that was why she kept messing with him and she had never really seen him angry. His furious expression sent her to hell and back. She peed herself in fear.

Adam moves away in disgust and asked the men to remove her from the chains.

"Take care of that arm and have them clean her up. Make sure her neck stays pristine for cutting if I end up finding Giselle in danger. You better pray she's safe, Isabella"

As Adam was about to walk out, his leg was grabbed and he looked down to see Isabella clutching his leg like a lifeline.

"Adam, are you really abandoning me? Leaving me for that black cockroach? Adam, we've been together for so long yet you abandon me for her! How is this fair Adam?"

Adam crouched and pulled her hair roughly, glaring at her with contempt.

"Neither you nor I are worthy of even touching her shoes yet you have the guts to call her a cockroach?! Just look at yourself Isabella, wallowing in your own blood and pee? Who is the real cockroach between you both? Stop being delusional"

"Adam….I love you" she sobbed. He kicked her hands off with his other leg. The look of utter disgust and contempt Adam have Giselle was enough to scale her pride out of this world.

"Don't touch me…...scum"

He slammed the door in her face. As he walked away, he wondered if that was how annoying he was when he persisted after Giselle. Looking back, it truly was the same.

"No wonder she doesn't want to go out with me. Ahh, I'm so pitiful" he said, slinking to the floor. He crouched there and reflected on himself.

Jellal who had come to report something important stopped in his tracks and looked on incredulously at his boss.

"B....boss, are you alright?"

"Oh, Jellal, it's you"

"Why do you look so pitiful? Please get up before you drive everyone nuts again"

"Tch, Fine"
