The closer the group of zombies approached, the more the tension rose in the base

even the bravest man would feel stressed, imagine simple civilians who only wanted to escape this disaster, fortunately, the bonds which united the members of the base were strong, some people even gave up their seats to others, the oldest leaving it to the youngest , a husband helping his wife and so on

it took a lot of courage to do this , to look death in the face and accept its embrace

but because of Adam's directives, no one knew who was going to be taken , so as not to cause panic, for example, if certain people knew in advance that they were going to die and not be taken into the trucks , they could undertake desperate acts

All civilians on the base were asked to prepare and wait in their homes, if there was a place available, they would be informed, it was once again one of Adams tactic to avoid losing the control of the base, by doing this, no mob would be formed and there will be less chance of a mutiny

the more time passed, the more stressed the civilians were, the adults shed silent tears not wanting to show it to their children, the soldiers who had chosen to stay to evacuate the civilians puffed out their chests, ready to face the unknown enemy, as for the members of the bronze brigade, they were already taking action, under the orders of captain dupont, they had already succesfully built a maze which surrounded the entire base

there was now only an hour left before the zombie tide swept over the base, the last truck was going to leave, all the people on board the last truck were relieved, they were not going to die, but at the same time a nameless sadness resided in them, what will happen to all these people, there were still many people who had not yet been evacuated

women, children, the sick and many others will probably no longer see the sun rise again

some people who were in the trucks cried loudly , they had abandoned their families, they were now alone in this cold and cruel world but at the same time, their will to live was also powerful , they had to make it , they had to live for their families

everyone in this truck knew that what awaited them was going to be hard but they still agreed to get in

once the last truck left, adams appeared and talked with the rest of the survivors, the fact that the president himself did not leave the base raised everyone's morale, we are lucky to have a leader like this, thought most of them

when Adams spoke, he used a microphone and spoke through the different speakers located in the base
