Prologue

In the year 2133 people had become normalised to the idea of implants and augments. The invention and distribution of augmentation devices was highly criticized, more so than implants. But what matters is implants. After the incident known as the 'The Departure', magic was ingrained into technology. On February 15th in 2105, the entire populous of the city Freyja disappeared, to this day no one knows if it was an exodus or extinction, natural or man-made cause. The people disappeared but the magic stayed. The city was put into quarantine for 3 years before government workers went in to assess the situation in the city. The air was safe to breath and there was nothing dangerous lurking in the city, it was deemed safe for re-population. Among the city, technology that had been sitting in the area had absorbed ambient mana particles, supposedly Naught but no one is sure. This magic enhanced technology was the key that researchers had been searching for to use in treatments for various diseases as well as advanced implants to enhance human abilities. Most people nowadays were 'chipped' by birth. The world saw a rise in life expectancy and overall well-being, the cause of The Departure was still being investigated. The magic enhanced tech was used in several logic and reason defying ways, many even tried to find the cause of other magic occurrences prior to the Dark Core event such as the blade of slaughter, the blue and black devils, as well as the owner of the Sairentorikyūru, Maria. Of course, none of these could be thoroughly researched due to all of them having been in Freyja at the time of The Departure and no longer existing. But one thing that scientists forgot was a very special lineage. The creator at the time, Yu Lpopo, had a daughter, Claira, who was not present at the time of The Departure. By now she was much older and has a child of her own. She is the current president of Freyja while her son, Lukas, attends school in Freyja and has been told little of his bloodline. But of course, tampering with magic from unknown origins is not always a wise idea.
