Diary of a Teenage Alpha

Big-hearted and witty, Samantha Kingsley is the Alpha's daughter who grew up learning to meet everyone's expectations. But Samantha isn't a pup anymore, she's in high school now, and is just about to discover that her life is written by her choices. Not by dreams, or prophecies, or even the moon goddess. This girl is going to protect the happiness of her pack and everyone she loves. Read her diary here. Updated every night. Mon-Sat Volume Synopsis VOL 1 It's the first week of school. Despite my failed attempt to make a friend, I somehow ended up surrounded by a handful of wolf classmates, got accepted by the human "cool" girls, and became a vampire's guard dog? VOL 2 I think I'm just starting to get the hang of school. From navigating school halls, new friends, vampires, and school clubs... Back home it should have been the usual drill, but things started shifting. And I urm...might have been messing around where I shouldn't. VOL 3 I had to miss a couple of school days this week due to my ah, long term bout of "anemia". It's been pretty intense at home. My alpha position was challenged, rogues burnt down our home, I rescued my first fight dog, discovered the Lorent's secret oracle, almost rescued my mate...and accidentally stumbled into my Alpha Dad's secret. VOL 4 My worlds collide as some members from my pack come to my school to sell concert tickets. And when Grandpa Alpha shocked us all by dying, my dad's family comes together to pay their last respects at the Night Forest Pack. VOL 5 It's February and the Vampire Queen is celebrating her birthday. Would Rebel's plan to escape work out? Meanwhile, I'm stuck in school dealing with high school drama, an evolving wolf, and a new human sister. In the Red Packlands, war nearly breaks out. (This might have been a very little bit my fault.) VOL 6 It's the week of Valentine's Day, but I've got a highschool play, Lorent drama, Vampire slaying training, and an underground army to deal with first. And then warlock weather threw an extended snowstorm at us. The whole of Green Packlands goes into lockdown - but what about Valentine's Day? VOL 7 Exams are a week away, and it feels like my time at Winderhill is really coming to a close. I'm trying to be a good student, but there are paparazzi camped outside my school, I ran with rogues (I'm shocked too), Maria just had to enter her dark cycle in school...My life is too exciting to study for exams. VOL 8 It's exam week, but I've got far greater problems brewing at home. The prophecies are merging. River's stone had unlocked warlock trouble, the rogue king has moved in, and then there's Uncle Louis' economical problems... one at a time. Just let me survive Code Black and figure out what's going on at Heller's first, and I'm sure everything else will work out somehow. VOL 9 Its the last week of school and the exams are over. Its like for better or worse, all the big bad things are over now. At home, My pack works to clean up the aftermath of the rogue war, the warlock's defeat, and Jude's betrayal. In school, everyone treats me more or less the same... like a freak. Meanwhile, our school play is in dire straights, and as the Last Hurrah's debut draws near, I get ready to say good bye to Winderhill for good. VOL 10 We follow Dad to the past to stop the traitor (AKA Jude), from ever stepping into our Packlands. It would've been a good plan too - if it didn't change EVERYTHING. Now, I can't help but feel my life is ruined. Nobody understands me. Is it selfish of me to wish none of this ever happened? Why does my world have to be so magical?

WHAT FLYNN DIDN'T WANT ME TO BE EXPOSE TO

9 FEBRUARY, TUESDAY, CONT'

"Alpha, perhaps, we might use the next room to talk." Stephan gestured politely to the next door and Titanium opened it.

I followed Flynn and Titanium into the room. Stephan and Theo followed respectfully behind me.

We left Owen and EJ in front of Mate's banged up door. The men seemed to believe that the white wolf sleeping in the room was capable of making a bloodbath of the entire Underground population.

It did make me wonder what in the world happened to give them such an impression, but there was too much to see. I was in THE UNDERGROUND. So like, whatever.

Specifically, we were now in the much larger room next door, and it was better lit, but still cold. I noticed Flynn, Titanium, Stephan and Theo all had warm jackets on. I guess heating wasn't a priority when setting up underground armies. Flynn and Titanium had on Night Leaf warrior jackets, the new navy blue armored ones that were issued this year. Very cool looking.

I looked around the room, if I had to describe it, I would say it was the top secret underground strategy room.

The centre of the room was a table, and there were maps nailed into the walls, and rosters, and stuff. There was even a chalk board. The table top itself was painted black and had chalk layouts.

SO COOL!

"Okay, Sam." Flynn decided somebody had to be the responsible adult, "You're dream-walking right? I can't smell your scent."

Stephen tensed. He did not seem to find Flynn's comment acceptable. I guess it was rude to sniff at alphas, oh and females who aren't yours too. But Flynn was my friend and teacher for a long time now.

"Dream travelling." I nodded and smiled so Stephan would chill.

"Right. Dream travelling." Flynn nodded, "If you wake up right now and go back home to your parents, I won't tell them you came."

I flared. Stephan tensed again.

And then I shook my head, "I'm here for official business!"

Flynn raised a brow at that, "So your parents know you're here?"

I shook my head again, "Of course not!"

Flynn crossed his arms, "I thought so."

"But I'm the Alpha..." I tried to explain.

Flynn cut me off, "And does your Luna know you're here? Sam, this is an army base, not a tea party. It isn't somewhere for young girls to wander around in heels and pretty dresses... This is a place for tough guys."

Okay, seriously? Since when had I wandered around in heels and dresses? I should just set Stephan on him...except I was also aware that I was really wearing heels...and a really tight white dress under my coat too. So I just kept quiet.

Stephan had enough of it though, "Sir, Alpha Sam has every right to be here... and wear heels and dresses...or whatever she pleases."

The heels and dress part of it seemed to throw him off though.

But I'm the alpha. I have the right to wear whatever I want!

"It's not about her right, Captain, it's her safety." Flynn answered, and then turned back to me, "Why do you think Titanium, Hank, and the other guys volunteered to come here away from our pack and mates?"

"Cos it's cool" probably wasn't the answer so I kept quiet.

"When your dad asked for volunteers, Hank and I spoke to our mates, we were all going to support you in this. You've saved our lives, but it wasn't just that. You're our future Alpha. You're a girl. You're precious to our entire pack. Not just ours, but the future of the entire Green Packlands is depending on you. You need to be protected. This army is a double edged sword. If they are well trained and disciplined they would keep our packlands and you safe. These guys are potentially the strongest wolves I've ever trained. But if they get out of hand, it's going to get ugly. These guys are also wild, violent, and some of them are really messed up."

"They can't help it." I said, "They're wolves and they had a difficult past."

"That doesn't mean you should be exposed to them." Flynn said.

"I'll be fine." I said. I was the Alpha, something that Stephan seemed to understand better. Stephan was at this point frowning at Flynn.

I smiled at Stephan, "Did you ever have a teacher who trained you from when you were a pup, and after you became Alpha, continued to nag and worry about you?"

Stephan paused, "Yes, Alpha. I did."

"What did you do with him?" I asked.

"He became my advisor. When I was at the fight cages, he continued to faithfully serve my pack. When I returned, he was the one who came out to meet us."

"Does he still nag at you?" I asked.

Flynn was making a face now.

"Yes." Stephan answered in his usual factual monotone. He nodded respectfully at Flynn who opened his mouth and shut it again.

"I guess Flynn will always be nagging at me then." I feigned a dramatic sigh.

"I understand now, Alpha." Stephan answered seriously.

Flynn narrowed his eyes at me, "Don't change the subject Sam. You shouldn't be here."

He was not going to thank me for getting Stephan off his back? Or at least be impressed at my own Lorent Style side narrative? Oh well.

"But I'm the Alpha." I said.

"And we will take care of it for you." Flynn said.

I crossed my arms and sulked. What kind of alpha needed so much taking care of and protecting?

Suddenly we heard EJ out on the corridor, "Hoi, hoi, Ruby! You're not allowed here!"

"Ladies, this tunnel is restricted area." Owen said more politely, "You need to leave."

"Or you'll what?" A woman's voiced challenged, "Hurt us? Rape us? Mutilate us?"

"Just give up already Ruby!" EJ said, "Luna isn't interested in you, and I know why."

"What does a brat like you know?" Ruby asked.

"Even if you drug him a hundred more times, he won't come for an old hag like you!" EJ crowed.

"Shut up, brat! When I become his mate, I will have you expelled." Ruby threatened.

"You should be the one expelled, your old hag!" EJ countered.

Stephan decided to ignore the ruckus outside, "We have been preparing for your visit Alpha. There will be a special assembly at midnight. Your Luna will introduce you to everyone there."

Flynn frowned at that, "I was not aware of this arrangement." He looked at Titanium.

Titanium shrugged, "You just arrived today, but yes, we have everything ready. I understand where you're coming from Flynn, but she's the Alpha who saved them. The warriors want to see her."

And then all four of them turned to look at me. Flynn frowned. Titanium looked perplexed. Stephan was still frowning from just now...Perhaps the crease on his brow was permanent. Theo made no expression.

What?

Now that we were silent, the conversation outside wafted in.

"This isn't getting us anywhere." Ruby's voice had taken on a seductive edge, "How about this? You two let me inside, and Jade and Emerald here would keep you company till I'm done?"

"Ruby, no. Leave." Owen's voice had taken a hard edge.

"Heeeeyyyy, don't touch there, it's sensitive!" EJ yelled.

The ladies laughed mercilessly.

"Should we go help him?" Flynn wondered aloud.

Stephan looked at Theo who said quietly, "He will be fine... probably."

By now I've completely lost track of what we were talking about. Outside was way too noisy.

"Okay, let's make a deal." EJ said.

"EJ, don't!" Owen sounded more than a little alarmed.

"All three of you strip dance and we'll let you in." EJ promised.

"EJ!" Owen scolded.

"Don't worry, Luna won't fall for them." EJ sounded pretty confident.

"There has never been a man I couldn't make fall for me." Ruby boasted. She said it in a really cool way too. Like it wasn't an empty boast, I had no doubt she had a lot of experience in her belt to prove it.

And then someone started playing music.

"Don't mind! I'm going to film this." EJ called out happily.

"No, stop!" Owen said.

"Just relax and enjoy the show." EJ told his friend.

I looked at the other men around me, they remained in pause mode. Stephan was still frowning, and I'm beginning to think that really was just his normal face.

Flynn bit his lip.

"Should we go out and stop them?" Titanium asked finally.

"Wait." Stephan said.

"Why?" I asked.

"We are bidding for time." Stephan dutifully explained.

I nodded. I totally had no idea what they meant. And then just for clarity, I asked, "They aren't really going to strip right?"

All 4 men froze at that, and then I heard the answer from outside:

"Don't take it off that fast!" EJ complained loudly from outside, "Do it nice and slow, or we won't let you in!"

"We aren't letting them in either way, EJ." Owen felt he had to clarify.

"It won't matter because I know something you don't know." EJ broke out in a sing song voice.

The music stopped.

"Alright brat, since you want to tell us so badly, what do you know?" Ruby sounded annoyed now.

"You're.really.not.his.type." EJ said then, "I've confirmed it myself."

"So he's really uninterested in women?" One of Ruby's friend asked.

"I knew it!" The other female said.

"I didn't say that." EJ answered, "Finish your dance, really slowly, and I'll tell you the rest."

But Ruby was not about to blindly dance to his tune, "Tell us what you know, and we'll reward you accordingly."

The guys in the strategy room looked to Stephan. He checked his watch and nodded, "Alright."

Then they all got up at once. I got up too.

"Oh, no you don't." Flynn turned around, "Stay."

And then he left with the other men.

I think I will promote Flynn from my trainer to advisor, just like Stephan said. So "stay" wouldn't be an order anymore, it would be an advice.

I waited for them to leave and then got up too. I wanted to see this Ruby for myself. EJ has called her an old hag, but she sounded anything but. To be honest, she sounded really sexy and badass. I felt a bit jealous.

Just as I stepped out of the room, Wolfie got excited.

{Mate}

He was awake. And if his feelings from our mating bond was anything to go by, he was getting increasingly irritated by the second. Hahaha.

I wonder what ruffled his feathers.

I snuck over to take a look. Outside his room was a small crowd of warriors, Titanium, Stephan, Flynn, and Theo... (In order of size. Lol.) They were blocking my way and I had to come even closer before I could see the three stunningly beautiful women standing there, their white cloaks lying like carcasses on the concrete floor. Their colouring was startling - like mine, but in different colours.

Immediately I could match them to their names. The one in the centre was Ruby. Her hair and eyes an unnatural wine red. On her left was a woman with very light colouring, her hair silver, her eyes was such a pale blue, it was almost white.

I looked at the third woman, with green hair and eyes. And I guessed that she was Emerald, you know because of the green, and that would make the white lady Jade.

It was like everyone looked up and saw me at the same time.

Flynn looked particularly unhappy to see me, the other men looked perplexed. The women looked openly curious. Only EJ looked pleased.

"Hoi, Hoi, Alpha." EJ called happily, "Come join our dance party!"

I came closer. Ruby smiled at me, perfectly poised, her white dress dipped alluringly in the front, her red nails perfectly manicured, her dark red hair was rested on one shoulder in a really grown up way, her red lips curled up in such sophistication, I envied it. Yeah, this was the kind of cool sexy woman I had imagined I wanted to be when I grew up.

And then once I did come closer to her, I noticed how her bare arms and cleavage, her neck, her legs, were all covered in thin white lines. Criss crossed in varying directions. The only parts of her unscarred was her face, but that could be the makeup.

Her friends were similarly scarred.

I felt something in my heart crack.

I flared.

"A blue she-wolf?" Ruby drawled, "Could this be the Sapphire our former master was hunting?"

I looked at them, they looked at me.

And then the banged up metal door opened, and Mate appeared in all his irate glory. Growling, hair wild and tousled, but clothed in his tailored navy suit, white button up shirt, and patent shoes as before. Only his tie was missing.

Another magic trick. Naked man = white wolf = dressed man. Hahaha.

Ruby growled appreciatively, "You're looking sharp tonight, Rebel."

Rebel paused and looked down at himself, it was as if he had not notice until now that he was dressed or what he was wearing, growling his further irritation, he ran his hand through his hair.

The movment caught Ruby's interest, she watched appreciatively. I watched her watching. Her eyes followed his hand in his hair, down his arm to his shoulder and chest where his jacket opened up.

"Hmm..." Ruby made a purring sound, "I always liked a man in a suit."

Me too? But Ruby said it like it meant something more.

I was beginning to wonder if I really wanted to grow up to be like Ruby. Tbh, she scared me a little. I cast mate a quick glance, just to make sure he was a safe distance away. You know, so he wouldn't be eaten.

Ruby looked hungrily at Mate in a way that made me feel very uncomfortable. Part of me wanted to stand in front of him to shield him from her sight. Another part of me felt this weird feeling I couldn't immediately place.

I wasn't angry, or scared, or excited, but I was just suddenly very aware of the blood surging in my veins, and my heart thumping, steady but a tad too loudly.

I swallowed a growl or a whimper, I'm not sure what would have come out. My fists were clenched, my hair was sizzling but not right up in the air, just shimmering a little by by sides. At this point, I felt sure something was about to happen, but for the life of me, I couldn't say what.
