Diary of a Teenage Alpha

Big-hearted and witty, Samantha Kingsley is the Alpha's daughter who grew up learning to meet everyone's expectations. But Samantha isn't a pup anymore, she's in high school now, and is just about to discover that her life is written by her choices. Not by dreams, or prophecies, or even the moon goddess. This girl is going to protect the happiness of her pack and everyone she loves. Read her diary here. Updated every night. Mon-Sat Volume Synopsis VOL 1 It's the first week of school. Despite my failed attempt to make a friend, I somehow ended up surrounded by a handful of wolf classmates, got accepted by the human "cool" girls, and became a vampire's guard dog? VOL 2 I think I'm just starting to get the hang of school. From navigating school halls, new friends, vampires, and school clubs... Back home it should have been the usual drill, but things started shifting. And I urm...might have been messing around where I shouldn't. VOL 3 I had to miss a couple of school days this week due to my ah, long term bout of "anemia". It's been pretty intense at home. My alpha position was challenged, rogues burnt down our home, I rescued my first fight dog, discovered the Lorent's secret oracle, almost rescued my mate...and accidentally stumbled into my Alpha Dad's secret. VOL 4 My worlds collide as some members from my pack come to my school to sell concert tickets. And when Grandpa Alpha shocked us all by dying, my dad's family comes together to pay their last respects at the Night Forest Pack. VOL 5 It's February and the Vampire Queen is celebrating her birthday. Would Rebel's plan to escape work out? Meanwhile, I'm stuck in school dealing with high school drama, an evolving wolf, and a new human sister. In the Red Packlands, war nearly breaks out. (This might have been a very little bit my fault.) VOL 6 It's the week of Valentine's Day, but I've got a highschool play, Lorent drama, Vampire slaying training, and an underground army to deal with first. And then warlock weather threw an extended snowstorm at us. The whole of Green Packlands goes into lockdown - but what about Valentine's Day? VOL 7 Exams are a week away, and it feels like my time at Winderhill is really coming to a close. I'm trying to be a good student, but there are paparazzi camped outside my school, I ran with rogues (I'm shocked too), Maria just had to enter her dark cycle in school...My life is too exciting to study for exams. VOL 8 It's exam week, but I've got far greater problems brewing at home. The prophecies are merging. River's stone had unlocked warlock trouble, the rogue king has moved in, and then there's Uncle Louis' economical problems... one at a time. Just let me survive Code Black and figure out what's going on at Heller's first, and I'm sure everything else will work out somehow. VOL 9 Its the last week of school and the exams are over. Its like for better or worse, all the big bad things are over now. At home, My pack works to clean up the aftermath of the rogue war, the warlock's defeat, and Jude's betrayal. In school, everyone treats me more or less the same... like a freak. Meanwhile, our school play is in dire straights, and as the Last Hurrah's debut draws near, I get ready to say good bye to Winderhill for good. VOL 10 We follow Dad to the past to stop the traitor (AKA Jude), from ever stepping into our Packlands. It would've been a good plan too - if it didn't change EVERYTHING. Now, I can't help but feel my life is ruined. Nobody understands me. Is it selfish of me to wish none of this ever happened? Why does my world have to be so magical?

THREE ALPHAS IN ONE DAY!

1 FEBRUARY, MONDAY, 4PM

"We've been in major chaos all day!" Lizzy started, "I mean, we were supposed to be preparing for Alpha Silas' memorial service, right?"

"And then suddenly Alpha Gunter drops by for a visit." Savy said. These two like to talk like a tag team when they were excited.

"Yeah, officially, he came to pledge donation towards the Princess town, but unofficially, he came to warn your parents about blue wolves." Lizzy said.

What about blue wolves? I mean, other than the fact that there was a vampire coven looking for one.

"Alpha Gunter's soulmate was a blue wolf. She died in a dream. If you die in a dream, you will die in real life." Lizzy said, "Plus Mum has been researching blue wolves and so far that seems to be the pattern. The blue wolf appears, usually during times of war or crisis and creates amazing breakthroughs, but all of them have also died young, while dream travelling. Alpha Gunter's wants you to know that you can die in your dreams."

"But you weren't supposed to tell her that she will die young." Savy said.

I will what now?

"I mean, it might not happen for Sam. The other blue wolves were just too reckless." Savy said.

"Yes, and our Sam is a paragon of caution and safety." Ben smirked.

"Shut up! You'll upset Savy!" Lizzy hit Ben.

To us she said, "Yes, Sam just needs to be careful. Like Alpha Gunter's mate didn't know she could die. He didn't know either. They thought she would just wake up. But now we know, so Sam, you can't do anything dangerous in your dream, okay?"

Ben growled, "Don't tell her what not to do Lizzy. Sam's the alpha."

"All the more she can't die." Lizzy argued.

"Anyway, after Alpha Gunter left, Mum had this major meltdown about you dying." Savy said.

"And my parents came because my mum had been studying blue wolves." Lizzy said.

"You've already said that Lizzy." Ben said.

"And then suddenly another Alpha came." Savy said.

"Alpha George." Ben supplied.

"As in Henry's dad?" I asked.

"Yes. He had bad news." Ben said.

"Really bad news. Oh, it was so bad." Lizzy said.

"Lizzy, don't interupt." Ben said. He continued, "The Ciara Coven near his packlands had unusual activity recently. He had sent a covert operation, and they returned with report that the vamps are searching for a young blue she-wolf. Naturally, he thought of you."

I nodded, "Yeah, they've been looking for me. I was careless. Their Sire saw my face."

"You knew?" Ben asked.

"You knew?" Lizzy asked much louder, "And it didn't completely freak you out? Cos it totally freaked Ben out. He nearly didn't want to go for his driving test today, except that your mum told him he had to go and pass so that someone could pick you up from the train station."

"If you f***ing knew, why the hell were you still shopping at the station?" Ben asked. His wolf was furious, and then he deflated immediately after, "And why the hell didn't you say anything?"

"I had a lot on my mind okay?" I said.

Ben dropped his head, "Sorry."

"I was going to tell you guys." I said.

"And then Savy had a meltdown and said that she would just die of sadness if you died." Lizzy said.

"I didn't say it that way." Savy pouted cutely. I patted her head, "Awww... So cute."

"Don't do that!" Savy protested. She ducked her head away.

"I'm not going to die." I said.

"That's exactly how you're going to die." Savy scolded.

"I'm not going to die." I said again.

"Yes you are! You're going to die and everyone will cry and cry and cry!" Savy suddenly burst out.

"I hope that isn't a prophecy." I grumbled.

"You'll be fine, Sam. I'll be there to take the hit." Ben said.

"And that will be how you ended up with a bullet in your stomach." Lizzy scolded. I think we were all remembering the prophetic dream Ben had about being chained to the dungeon walls and me cutting him open to retrieve a bullet.

Grrr...

"Look nobody is going to get hit." I said, "It's going to be fine."

"Yeah?" Ben asked, "What do you have in mind Sam?"

"We've got time, it's Queen Vamp's birthday, maybe a week. Less if Mate gets back home to us." I added under my breath even while I was realizing it. Okay, we might not have time.

"What's this got to do with your Luna?" Ben asked. Good question.

"The vamp looking for me is Bell's master." I said.

"Oh great. He's going to come home and lead him straight to us." Ben said.

"No, it's going to be okay. Get a grip, Ben." I said.

"What the F***." Ben pulled at his hair, "I just got my license too."

"You did say you'd die happy once you've driven a Lambo." Lizzy pointed out.

Savy became silent.

"Okay, chill. It's going to work out." I said, "Trust me."

Yeah. Trust me. What the hell was I talking about?

"And Uncle Louis?" I prompted. I did a quick scan for him. He was in packlands. 15 wolves, mostly warriors. Nothing gets past Wolfie. (Yeah, right.)

"Oh yes, and then if all that vampire talk wasn't bad enough, Alpha Louis and his Luna suddenly decided to attend the memorial service tonight." Lizzy said, "Oh my goddess, it's really been one alpha after another, all bad news."

"What bad news did Uncle Louis bring?" I asked.

"We think he is here for your ring, Sam." Ben said, "Not that he's likely find it."

We all looked at the pink unicorn on my bed.

Hmmm... That would be bad. Actually that would be the most eminent threat right now. The ring was radiating magic, which I could sniff out, could other wolves smell magic? Or was it just me?

That, coupled with Uncle Louis' gift of insight, no matter how half baked it was, could only spell trouble.

Lizzy sighed, "Three Alphas in one day! It's just one Alpha after another... Every visit would stir up the entire packhouse from the kitchen to the Alpha Office, and then end with the Luna in tears."

Mum cried. Oh s****.

I hated it when that happens.

Savy rubbed my back, "There is one more thing."

"What?" I really didn't want to know.

"You need to make a eulogy later this evening." Savy told me.

She had got to be kidding.

"It's either you or Savy." Lizzy said.

I looked at Savy. I've got an early death warning, a coven of vampires and a crazed uncle on my plate, and you want me to make the eulogy?

"It was Delta Charlie's idea." Savy said, "And we figured if you did it, it would give you an excuse to not sit near Uncle Louis."

That's true too. Sparing me from his gift of insight. I remembered how Grandma Luna had to look at me before she asked about the Uncle Andre's fight with Mate. So they had to look at me to gain insight?

"Okay." I said.

"What? You're doing it?" Lizzy said.

Savy grinned, "I knew you would."

I picked up Sir Sparklalot, "Ben, you got time?"

"I've got till 6." Ben said, "Then I've got to be in school to set up."

"Okay. Drive Sir Sparklalot to Ki, tell Ki to keep him for me till he comes back." I said.

"Right. Do you want Harv's speech too? He has a slot too." Ben offered.

I shook my head, "It's fine. Oh, and please set a meeting for me tomorrow to deal with the vamp problem."

Ben nodded, "Got it. Anything else?"

"Ah..." I hesitated.

"Sam, I need you to talk out loud." Ben said.

I sighed, "Nobody tell Mum, but I left my phone in school."

"Want me to drive over to pick it up?" Ben asked.

I shook my head, "No time. It should be fine, just that you can access my texts right? Cover for me."

Ben nodded, "Sure."

He stuck Sir Sparklalot under his arm the way Ki had modelled it the other night and left the room.

"What can we do?" Lizzy asked.

"I'm going to take a very long shower." I told them. What could Lizzy and Savy do?

"Mindlink Mum and keep tabs on the situation for me. Avoid Uncle Louis in case he picks up any insight from you." In some ways, Uncle Louis was like a crazy mind-reading vampire right now.

No, no, he was my uncle. He was just working on the basis that I had stolen Grandma Luna's ring. Naturally, he would try to get it back by any means necessary. Not crazy at all.

Ah, that's right. I pulled out my diary from my dresser drawer, "I need a bag for my stuff." I had to keep my secrets on me in case anyone came to search our room again.

Savy pulled out the blue leather satchel. I stuffed it in, "Don't read it."

I picked up my clothes and headed for the shower.

Think, Sam, think!

I've got the ring out of Uncle Louis grasp. I doubt he would think to search the Lorent's packhouse. But I needed some kind of decoy...no, more like a lot of red herrings to throw Uncle Louis off scent. But nothing to elude to a pink unicorn...

If he couldn't find the ring when we were staying at his packhouse, he must have a reason to believe he would be able to find the ring now. So he would probably have something that could lead him to the ring. Or more likely, to lead him to magic items.

The best case scenario was that his search leads him to conclude that we didn't have the ring.

Of course the worst case scenario was that he finds the ring.

I could also just give him the damn ring.

Stupid ring was more trouble than it's worth. I don't care how much it's worth, don't argue with me on this!

Arughh... Who was I even talking to now? I think the stress was getting to me too.

Or I could catch Uncle Louis red handed. Yes. I could totally do that. I would need a lot more help though.

ME: Harvey! Where are you?

HARVEY: In school. May I assist you with anything? (Where the hell is Ben?)

Hahaha I could hear his personal thoughts.

ME: I sent him with Sir Sparklalot to Ki. My uncle is here. I think he's looking for it.

HARVEY: (Oh s***.) I see.

ME: How quick can you come over?

HARVEY: (Need to complete briefing the ushers, double check the slides and sound system, report to Principal Charlie, rehearse my speech...never mind the speech...) I can be over in an hour.

Grrr... I needed him now.

ME: Ben where are you?

BEN: Heading back.

ME: Can you go cover for Harvey? I need him now.

BEN: What can Harvey do that I can't?

For one thing, Harvey wouldn't be driving a Lambo.

ME: Nothing. But I need you there now. Make sure you finish settling everything and are ready to accompany me for the rest of the event.

BEN: Understood, Alpha.

I never knew what my Beta understood when they said they did.

ME: Harvey, Ben is on the way to you. Don't wait. Pass him your list of things to do and get here now.

BEN: I'm on my way, princess. (I'll mindlink Ben now and get Lola to help).

Then I switched links to Nix. I hope I could link him.

ME: Nix!

NIX: Princess? Seriously? Is it you?

ME: Yes. Come to my room now.

NIX: WHAT?

ME: Bring a trap, a tripwire, and ah... Are you a good shot?

NIX: I seldom miss, Princess.

-Bring your gun.

-Now princess?

-Harvey is leaving the school now. You can catch a ride with him. Go, go, go.

-What...

-Nix! GO NOW!

I turned off the shower and pulled on my clothes. Savy and Lizzy were reading manga in Savy's bed.

"What's happening with the adults?" I asked.

"Mum says that Uncle Louis had apologized about yesterday and everything seems normal, except that Aunt Jade is really nervous." Savy reported.

"I guess it's true, humans can't hide their emotions well." Lizzy said.

"Depends on the human." I answered.

Savy got off the bed and went to fetch the hairdryer. Lizzy automatically got up to collect a hair brush and Savy's box of hair accessories.

"Have you told Mum about Harvey coming over?" I asked.

"Harvey's coming over?" Lizzy gasped, "Hurry, we need to fix your hair. Omg, how's my hair?"

"Ah no, I mean about Ben leaving with Sir Sparklalot." I corrected myself. I had gotten confused with the multiple mindlinking. I had no idea how my Betas managed it.

"Opps no, we didn't think of it." Lizzy said.

"Good. Don't tell the adults. I don't want Uncle Louis to gain any insight about what we're up to." I said.

"Okay." Savy nodded.

"Sure," Lizzy said agreeably, "But what exactly are we up to? And more importantly, is Harvey coming?"
