Captured and Hungry -2

My hand stopped in front of the doorknob. I put my hand by my side and straightened my posture. I laughed, "Who're you to talk to me that way?" I asked. I heard another student awaken. The guy questioning me laughed. "Who am I? I'm the son of the CEO of Ethereal. Who are you?" He sneered

"Your worst nightmare," I say, looking back. "Oh, is that so? Would you like to test your luck, you low life?" The boy said. I chuckled, "Where and when?"

"Tomorrow in the main gymnasium. I challenge you to a duel." The boy stated. A sudden pop up appeared.

< High-Level Enemy Wishes To Duel Tomorrow, Do You Accept

Rewards: Instant Level Up, Mystery Box + Mystery Box Key, Random Weapon Augmentation, and/or Morph

Penalty: Embarrassment In Front Of The Whole School>

[Yes][No]

'Yes,' I thought, that should've been obvious. That weapon augmentation will come in handy. Maybe I can morph the weapon to compliment my BB punch? Maybe a compressed dagger to compliment my dash. Both good ideas. Both would be quite expensive normally, especially the compressed dagger. The dagger itself is much better than the sword. With the augmentation, I can give it a high-level toxin effect, or maybe even a fire one. However, this was all banking on if I won. My target most likely had years of martial arts practice while I only took basic classes in high school. I'm going to get my ass kicked. One well-placed punch could change the tide of battle though.

I decided to get out of the room. You could cut the tension with a knife. I was met with bright hallway lights when I opened the door. I stepped into the hallway and closed the door. Before I closed the door I said, "You bet I'll be there, duel accepted."

I didn't want to seem weird going through the menus in the middle of the hallway so I decided to head towards the cafetorium. It only took me a few minutes to spot signs pointing to the cafetorium but also classes. There was a lot. Fortunately, it only took me a few moments and some quick guessing on my feet and I was in the cafe. It seemed they served food 24/7 so there wasn't a worry that I would need to be here at a certain time to eat if I got hung up at classes.

I was kind of indifferent towards all of this. I didn't want to be here, but being here wasn't all too bad. Maybe I could learn some martial arts, and earn some experience. I sat down after grabbing a plate of food and looked down at a sudden beep. There was an indicator on my hand. One of those fancy toys that some of the top schools had that had power levels, money, and even built-in chat. You could call your friend in the middle of a fight. The watch showed the tiers. Mine was at a one.

I laughed. Of course, they would hide my true tier. Everyone would be in disbelief. Alas, I wasn't anywhere near the top tier. In terms of power, I was even less than a one. Well, that's interesting at least. Maybe if I get stronger, it will display something different? A bright one was displayed on my watch.

I sighed and decided to start eating. I think it had been a while since I had last eaten since my stomach was growling. Damn, I'm dumb. I never checked the time in the interrogation room earlier.

The food was great, but it just didn't taste good as of now. Like all its flavor was being overridden with this flavor of hate. I hated whoever put me here That thing, it is responsible for this.

I felt my body start to heat up as my anger boiled over. The table started to melt and my hands had begun to glow. Once I saw this I quickly tried to stop. I calmed down and after a while, ate the rest of my food. My finger's mold was stuck in the table. I would get pinned for this. After all, there were cameras stationed throughout the cafe. They would positively know it was me.

Might as well finish what I came here to do. I opened the shop. There were items of all values. From a 1 dollar snack bar to a 5 million dollar plasma sword. From what I could tell the shop has everything one could ever need or want. I searched the mystery box key. Only one result popped up. $400. It was a steep price, but the system told me to open the box. I bought the key and a notification popped up in the corner of my vision.

<Mystery Box Key Delivered To Inventory, Would User Like To Open Mystery Box>

[Yes][No]

'Yes,' I thought.

<Mystery Box Opened

Assassin's Boots Granted: User's Footsteps Are Muffled, Attacks To The Back Do 50% More Damage, User's Speed Has Been Boosted By 5%

Would User Like To Equip Assassin's Boots>

[Yes][No]

'Yes,' I thought. I felt a change in footwear. When I looked down I saw the boots. They were unlike any type of boot I had ever seen. The had a sort of fiery look to them. I smirked. These would be of great help tomorrow. I got up and brought my tray to the dishwasher and left the cafe.

I wonder if the gym is open? It's worth a shot. Maybe if I work out all night, I can gain a few skill points? I followed the signs and found the gym. To my surprise, there was someone else in there. I decided to just leave them be and headed over to the treadmill when something caught my eye. A testing machine. My interest was piqued and I walked over to it.

My heart dropped when I saw the screen. "Out of order, will be repaired shortly."

I was hoping to see my progression but I suppose not. I continued my walk over to the treadmill went I sensed something flying quite fast towards me. I turned and saw a ball flying right at my face. I crouched down as fast as I could. 'Dash'

I ended up half a gym away in the blink of an eye. The ball hadn't even hit the wall and I was this far away from it. My boots seemed to have increased the effectiveness of dash. I pivoted off my foot and was facing the person who had thrown the ball at me. They were about 2 meters away. I stood up from my crouch and looked at them. Her mouth was agape.

The woman was thinking that the lower level one was going to get hit with the ball. What she didn't realize was this was one of the most powerful level ones she was going to meet. He could go toe to toe with her. In terms of speed, his was much greater than hers.

"Ah, hello. That ball was quite fast." I said breaking the awkward silence. "H-how?" She asked.

"How what?" I asked. I looked at her wristwatch. It said 2. So, this girl was a tier two god system user. Interestingly, if she meant to hit me she would've. I'm guessing that that was just an accident. I laughed, "So, what're you doing out this late?" I say, after hearing no reply.

"Practicing my kicks." The girl said, still in disbelief.

"Ah, ok I will leave you be then" I say, walking away. I walked over to that treadmill. Right before I got to it I felt a chill go up my spine. 'Dash'

I dashed and my feelings were correct. The girl was behind me trying to go for a punch.

<23/25 Dashes Remain>

Okay, at least the system, keeps track of them. Everything was happening in slo-mo. Punches were flying at me faster than I could predict. I took a few hits and she was coming at me like a lightning bolt, even after I had dashed.

<HP 30/34>

Each punch took off one point of health. I kept dodging. Finally, I'd had enough of dodging since there was no end to her punches. I blocked one of her ounches and pushed her arm to the side. 'Bone Break Punch!'

I hit her where I knew she would take the least damage and sent her rocketing off to the other side of the gym where she hit the wall. She fell over in a heap and slumped down. I think that punch was overkill. I looked at my fist and then dashed my way over to the other side of the gym where the girl laid. "Shit," I say. She wasn't looking too god. I think I broke some of her ribs, and she was bleeding from her mouth. She was internally bleeding. I picked her up and ran out into the hall.

I looked for the signs to the doctors office. I dashed my way there as fast as my body could allow. Each dash brought me closer to the office until I finally reached it. I pushed the door open and the doctor in charge looked up with a smile. His smile faltered when he saw the girl.
