"How much more must I wait for her to wake up, doc?"
Dietrich stared at Niena's unconscious form lying on bed. Dietrich's breath was still uneven as he sat beside Niena's unconscious form, his mind racing. His promise to her echoed in his head.
He'd sworn to bring Elise back, but now, with each passing minute, it felt like he was slipping further away from her. He couldn't let that happen.
But, Elise also said to wait for her to come back. What should I do, mom?
The door creaked open, and Julian, his most trusted shadow guard, stepped inside. His expression was grim as he approached Dietrich.
"Your Majesty," Julian began, his voice low. "We've uncovered something you need to know. Sulphisix and the others are waiting downstairs."
Dietrich's jaw tightened. "What is it, Julian?"
Julian glanced at Niena, still lying unconscious on the bed, and hesitated. "It's about Elise… and GREED's plans for her."
