Destiny's Observer

Leo is a 33-year-old office worker who has been plagued by recurring nightmares for the past month. In these nightmares, he witnesses the enigmatic world of Elysium through the eyes of a young orphan cultivator, shunned by society. However, Leo's life takes an unexpected turn when he dies on Earth and reincarnates as the very same boy he had been seeing in his nightmares, thanks to a mysterious oracle system. Equipped with the power to predict the causes of events that shape destiny, Leo embarks on a journey within the world of Elysium. He uses the oracle system's predictive abilities akin to a skilled gambler, seeking to uncover the underlying causes behind the events unfolding around him. With each successful prediction, Leo grows more powerful, harnessing the system's assistance to identify the factors responsible for reshaping the fate of cultivators and other influential figures. As Leo observes the triumphs and downfalls of the inhabitants of Elysium, he maintains a detached mindset, refraining from interfering in their affairs. His sole focus is on survival and leading a cautious, steady life, steering clear of the tumultuous struggles that grip Elysium. Despite witnessing the grandeur and the tragic consequences of the world he now inhabits, Leo remains distant and indifferent, harboring a resolve to navigate this unfamiliar realm without being drawn into its conflicts.

Reaching The Living Quarters

After the disciple and master duo left him alone, Leo took a deep breath and tried to relax. But the anger within him wouldn't go away. "Because of that damn nightmare and Derek," he thought to himself, "my other persona has awakened." Leo felt uneasy about his other persona, who didn't value his life the way he did. Unlike Leo, his other self only cared about fulfilling his desires and didn't care about the consequences.

In his previous life, Leo had managed to control this other persona with medicine, but he wasn't sure if it would work in this life. He doubted that the medicine available in this world could compare to modern medicine and pharmacology. Perhaps it was just a placebo effect, but Leo didn't have high expectations from the medicine in this world.

After a while, he grew bored and decided to leave the medicine hall. He walked down the corridor to his room, which was located at the end of the hallway. As he walked, he noticed that there were no other rooms nearby, which explained why no one had heard him and Derek fighting. This realization brought him a sense of relief. He didn't want to be known as the person who had threatened the peak master.

Once he left the medicine hall, he saw a stone path that led somewhere, and he decided to follow it. As he walked, he took in the sights of the Heavenly Immortal sect. The mountains around him were vast and towering, reaching up to the clouds. He counted twelve peaks in total, each with its own specialty. He recognized them as the mountains where the peak masters resided.

The sect hierarchy was both simple and complicated. There was one main peak mountain where all the important facilities of the sect were located, and the sect master resided there. The remaining eleven peak mountains were specialized Qi faction places, each devoted to a particular aspect of the sect's practice. These included sword, spear, saber, wind, earth, fire, water, wood, lightning, ice, and metal peak mountains.

Each of these peaks contained mystical realms that led to specialized planes rich with the corresponding Qi of the mountain. For example, the ice mountain peak housed the ice peak mystical realm. Despite the simplicity of having separated mountains, the sect's hierarchy was complex. All the masters of these peaks could only be controlled by the sect master. Matters that needed resolution during the sect master's absence were often left with indecision.

Each disciple had the freedom to explore any part of the sect, but there were certain distinctions between the different groups. The inner sect disciples, for instance, were the only ones permitted to reside in the affiliated mountains and utilize the specialized training grounds located there. On the other hand, the outer sect disciples lived in open fields that were surrounded by mountains. It was to this area that Leo was headed - the outer sect living quarters.

Leo made his way towards his living quarters, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling sect around him. He saw numerous disciples in green robes - the outer sect members - as well as the occasional disciple soaring through the sky in blue robes, having achieved flying after reaching the core formation realm. The sect was alive with activity, akin to a modern city, and Leo weaved his way through the crowds of people. After a short while, he came across a picturesque lake, and beyond it lay his humble abode, nestled atop a small hill. The row of buildings housing the living quarters stood in a straight line, giving the place a sense of order and harmony. which Leo liked.

Leo arrived at the outer sect living quarters and began his journey to his own house, located at the very end of the housing area. To his surprise, there were no other buildings within a five-kilometer radius of his humble abode, which appeared to have been constructed in a separate location. Leo couldn't help but wonder if his status as a mortal cultivator was the reason for the apparent discrimination. Nevertheless, he found solace in the peace and quiet that came with the isolation of his home. Away from the hustle and bustle of the other buildings, Leo enjoyed the serenity of his living quarters.

Upon arriving at his doorstep, Leo took out the token that indicated his identity as a sect member, and placed it on the door to activate the basic lock array formation, granting him access to his house. As soon as the door opened, Leo stepped inside and began to tour his new abode. He saw that it consisted of one living room, one bedroom, one kitchen, and one bathroom. The design and architecture of the house were very simple, yet elegant.

As Leo entered his home, he realized that it lacked additional furnishings like couches or desks, but he wasn't surprised. However, when he compared it to the house he had on Earth, he couldn't help but feel that it looked poor and bleak. "At least there's a bed," he reassured himself. Leo searched for any belongings left behind by Young Leo, but he came up empty-handed.

Deciding that there was nothing else to check, Leo began to redesign his living space. He organized the furniture, which included a few items that looked out of place, and he also organized small items such as cup holders and utensil drawers in the kitchen. His OCD tendencies made it hard for him to ignore the disorder and clutter. Despite the extra work, Leo was happy to do it. He wanted his new home to be as comfortable and organized as possible, and he felt better knowing that everything was in its proper place.

After doing everything that needed to be done, he had finally called it a day. Then Leo headed towards the bathroom to take a shower and then sleep. After a refreshing shower, he made it to his bedroom and threw himself onto the bed. After all the happenings in this new world, Leo finally felt unoccupied and decided to sleep. Before closing his eyes, he checked the system one more time to see how much time was left until his launch. After knowing that the system would be launched when he wakes up, he drifted off.
