Escape Room

Click!

Jiu Li heard a faint clicking sound coming from the door. He paused for a moment, his hand hovering over the doorknob. He wasn't sure if he was ready for what might be waiting for him on the other side.

But Jiu Li knew that he didn't have a choice. He had to keep moving forward if he wanted to find Wei Feng and escape this warehouse.

Jiu Li gathered his courage and turned the doorknob. The door creaked open, and he stepped into the room.

The room was dimly lit and filled with various objects. Jiu Li's eyes scanned the room, searching for any clues that might help him find a way out. As he walked further into the room, he noticed a piece of paper on a desk.

Jiu Li cautiously approached the desk and picked up the piece of paper. It was a note, written in a messy handwriting that was incredibly difficult to read. Jiu Li squinted at the words, trying to make out sentences of them.

The note read:

"Find the four elements and use them to unlock the door to freedom. Fire, water, earth, and wind. Combine them in the correct order to escape this game."

Jiu Li's heart skipped a beat as it was the key to escaping the game. He had to find these four elements and combine them in the correct order to unlock the door to freedom.

BUT—would it be that easy? Escape Games commonly had room after room, and Jiu Li knew that everything related to this warehouse wasn't normal.

Jiu Li's mind was in chaos as he thought about the possibilities. He knew that there would be more challenges ahead, and the four elements were just the beginning. Jiu Li had to prepare himself mentally and physically for what lay ahead.

He decided to take a moment to gather his thoughts before venturing out of the "Escape Room."

Jiu Li sat down on a chair in the room and took several deep breaths. He tried to clear his mind and focus on the task at hand. He needed to find the four elements and escape this game. Jiu Li knew he couldn't do it alone, and he needed Wei Feng's help.

But where was Wei Feng? Was he still out there in one of the rooms in the hallway he entered? Or was he searching for Jiu Li right now? Jiu Li didn't know. But he certainly couldn't go turn back outside now.

Jiu Li stood up, pocketed the note, and headed towards the door. He opened it and ventured deeper into the hallway, taking a deep breath before moving forward. The walls seemed to be closing in on him even more now, and the air felt thick and oppressive.

As Jiu Li walked down the hallway, he heard a faint humming noise that grew louder as he approached a door on the left side of the hall. Jiu Li cautiously pushed the door open and stepped inside.

To his surprise, he found a room filled with plants of all shapes and sizes. The air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers and the sound of buzzing insects.

Jiu Li's eyes widened in wonder as he looked around the room. He saw a variety of exotic plants that he had never seen before, some with brightly colored flowers and others with unusual shapes. The room was warm and humid, and Jiu Li could feel the moisture in the air.

As he walked further into the room, Jiu Li noticed a small table in the corner.

On the table sat a pot filled with soil and a small green sprout. Jiu Li approached the table and inspected the sprout closely. It looked like a young plant, just starting to grow. Jiu Li wondered if this could be one of the elements mentioned in the note he found earlier.

As soon as Jiu Li's hand grazed the pot, a chilling energy filled the room, causing the once lively plants to wither and die. The once fragrant flowers now released a bitter and unpleasant scent, while the helpless insects were mercilessly torn apart by an unknown force.

Jiu Li was now both disturbed and terrified.

“Is Jiu Li overthinking or it’s not as easy as it seems?” That’s what my friend asked me. Truth is: I don’t know either! I literally haven’t even decided how the “Escape Game” even works!
