Lily hid the expression in her eyes, but Penny caught it when she suddenly raised her head.
"Lily, what's wrong?"
Penny walked over, took Lily's hand, and asked in a comforting tone, "Is something troubling you?"
Lily shook her head and tactfully withdrew her hand.
"Thank you for asking."
Penny waved her hand, walked to the water dispenser, and poured a glass of water for Lily. "It's okay. Our hospital is the best in the city, and I know the orthopedic doctor well. Your husband's injury isn't serious. With a month of recuperation, he'll be fine."
Lily pursed her lips and said softly, "He's just my friend."
"Ah..."
Penny was surprised and then smiled awkwardly. "I'm really sorry. I didn't know."
"It's alright."
Those unaware of the truth were blameless, and Penny was just trying to help. Lily had no reason to be angry over such a trivial matter.
