Chapter 14 Don't Forget About Him

When Ivan came, Penny had just let Nina lie on the couch.

Seeing Ivan, Penny hurried up to greet him. "Ivan, how's your day?"

Ivan didn't pay much attention to her, nodded slightly, loosened the tie with his slender fingers, and walked straight to the couch.

Nina recalled her mother's words, and with tears welling up in her eyes, she called softly, "Dad..."

Ivan sat beside her, put her onto his lap, let her lean into his arms, and asked in a low voice, "Are you sick?"

Nina grabbed the clothes on his chest, frowned, and didn't answer. She said, "Dad, I miss you."

Then, Penny stepped forward and explained, "It's nothing serious. She's much better now."

Ivan didn't say anything anymore. He hugged Nina and gently patted her shoulder. Soon, he put her to sleep.

He carried Nina to the room and came out.
