When Proserpina woke up for the second time that day, her mind far more quiet compared to earlier and her room was already dark thanks to the setting sun, the shadows dark and dense and writhing all over her, like a protective blanket.

She sighed at their nagging, dismissing them with barely a flick of her fingers and deciding to finally get up… especially at sensing William’s soul moving about downstairs in favor of the others murmuring from the distance. The annoyance practically radiating off of him was palpable and honestly kind of disconcerting.

Despite how much she enjoyed teasing him when they were younger, it never sat well with her whenever William was actually angry at her.
