Chapter 3

The knight and I crossed swords, he was clearly more powerful than I am but it didn't mean I'd give up so easily.

*CLINK*

*CLANK*

It was a fierce battle and I once again found myself on the ground. I vomited another mouthful of blood and I felt my body writhing with pain.

"Pity, such a pity. You hope to defeat me with such meagre strength?, you can't even defeat 10 of my death knights. How then do you plan to deal with the remaining 3000 death knights if you can't even defeat 10?" Minos shook his head and I knew he was disappointed. He had spent the last two weeks training me.

Minos had trained me in secret, he did that because Lucius had requested him to and the case of me clearing his cave was just for show. Minos had said he would grant me free passage through his cave but I didn't expect him to go back on his word.

"Minos, we can't keep doing this." I said and tried to stand but still fell.

"I want to see some real battle and not this cat and mouse fight. Pity, the witch Queen Simran doesn't deserve to have you as her soulmate." he said and shook his head again.

I gradually stood up, wiped the blood from my lips and stared angrily at the death knights. How dare he say that I'm not a worthy mate for the witch queen...Its time I wipe that smug off his face.

"You want a battle?" I said quaking with anger.

"THEN I WILL GIVE YOU A BLOODY ONE."

I gripped my sword and charged blindly towards the death knights. It is said that the worst animals to fight are; A wounded lion, A raging bull and a man fighting to defend his territory.

*CLINK*

*CLANK*

*POOFT*

More and more death knights were losing their heads as I kept charging and fighting like an enraged bull, giving little or no care to my wounds, broken ribs nor the hilt of my sword burning and scalding my palm.

Then they were no more.

"IS THERE NO ONE ELSE?!" I screamed in anger.

Minos no longer had that smug on his face, but rather a deepening frown.

He came towards me.

"You have to control that anger of yours." he sounded worried.

"If I hadn't suppressed the power of the demon wolf, your anger right now would have unleashed the demon wolf's full power." He said, waved his right hand and the fallen death knights vanished.

"So Minos, this was just another one of the numerous training?" I then sheathed my sword, I clutched my side as I felt my broken ribs trying to heal.

"Are we done here?" I said. I couldn't wait to leave this death filled forest.

He smiled at me again.

"One more thing, I need you to defeat my clone."

I frowned, this wasn't what I expected.

"Is it fear I smell, Maximus?. Wasn't the original plan to defeat me? So show me what you've got oh Demonic Prince of Rome."

He then waved his hand and another Minos appeared beside him.

"My clone has 80% of my power. Defeat my clone and I guarantee you safe passage out of here. Lose and you become one of my death knights." He said and dissipated and an evil laugh rung in the air.

"IT HAS BEGUN!!!" His voice boomed out as lightening and thunder rattle the deathly dark sky.

(For the action below, I suggest you play the Mortal Kombat theme song, its more enjoyable).

I unsheathed both my swords and thus the battle began.

*VOOOOM*

A fireball soon raced past me, the purplish fireball had an eerily chill around it which I felt as it passed me, I couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if it had hit me.

*TISH BAM*

I used my shield to block a fireball, then I saw the clone summoned a ball of lightening but it was too late.

I couldn't react in time as no human was a fast or faster than lightening.

I fell to the muddy ground and convulsed as I felt about a thousand volts racing through my body, the armor did its best to absorb the hit but I didn't go untouched.

I tried my best to stand but couldn't, I felt my blood dry up.

"You can't even take one blow from me? So pitiful, yet you pride yourself of being powerful." He taunted.

I felt so much pain and so much anger that I wished for Minos to just die. I then felt my breathing become heavy.

"Your immense pain and anger broke me free from Minos' hold. Shall we make them know what true pain feels like?" The demon wolf spoke to me telepathically.

"I want them to burn." I said and stood up.

"I WANT THEM ALL TO BURN!" I screamed with anger burning in my eyes. I just want to have this clone's head.

The clone looked at me, he frowned and waved his hand, a staff with a hooked blade appeared in his hand, his flesh corroded and the handsome teenage face became a skull, he was now draped in a black cloak, he looked just like the grim reaper. I knew then that this just got serious and so did I.
