I’m revamping this story after being inspired by Oregairu and splitting off from the other entries of Battlefield Restart despite having close ties to it. It’s a story about a someone who had become such a target for bullying that it warped his mindset harshly. The story is about him gradually forming meaningful connections and reaching out to others himself.

Prologue: The Golden Tyrant’s Fall

Some think a tragedy means sadness, but sometimes there are scars much worse than despair. Ignorance can be pitiful sometimes, and that's what leads people to do misguided actions.

This is a tale of someone similarly a walking tragedy. It's about how a great bully brutally dies...

We have to go back to the past in order to elaborate on the present. It's a simple story.

A childhood friend wanted to marry the girl he had known all his life. It was a love-marriage under the pretence of an arranged marriage. The beautiful black-haired girl who didn't seem out of place and there was an approachable air around her.

All would have been perfect if she returned the feelings... If she hadn't found someone else to love.

At least, that's what Fredrick Strome thought. He was absolutely certain of his personal pedigree.

"And what's wrong with marrying me again?" He asked the girl in a white dress before him.

"You forced me to be standing here." The stunning heroine of the festive night spoke to him coldly.

"She's also not into you." A third party who crashed the prodigal youth's party chimed from the side.

"You like 'this guy'...?" Fredrick's face scrunched up as he felt insulted by her taste in future husbands.

"And what's wrong with me?" The wedding crasher poked him with an intimidating look on his face.

The figure of the daunting youth was a whole head and neck larger than the suited youngster in formal attire. His rude attitude made the purple-haired groom turn volcanic, erupting into a fiery anger.

"You're 'Human'." As a person of etiquette, he was barely able to stop himself from fighting in public.

However, his words were much harsher than a serious punch to the face. It was a great weakness.

High Humans. This was a term for those who had awakened a 'Gift' from birth. Wether weak or strong. Fredrick and the girl he saw as his future wife, Janette Raymond, were the latter category.

They were descendants of those who were always naturally born with the greats of Gifts. Their high influence over the Secret World known as 'The Abyss' couldn't be underestimated. For them, a mere human without a Gift wasn't worth talking to.

And yet, this bold youth dared crash his wedding!

"I could beat you."

"Heh~" Fredrick unconsciously laughed at the foolish 'Normie' who hadn't had a taste of reality.

Beating him? He heard all about how this wedding crasher was once a famous prodigy of the Wolfheart Clan. Someone who was born with a variant of the 'Werewolf' Gift like his younger sister.

But now, he was merely a Human who couldn't even access the remnant magical energy his body possessed. Calling his claim absurd was common sense. He had no way of fighting him like this.

"Are you planning to cheat?" The prodigal young tyrant asked while glancing at his bodyguards.

"No tricks. I challenge to a one-on-one battle. You can accept it, can't you? If you're really confident."

"Even with that taunt. What will YOU give me when I win?" The young tyrant spoke rationally.

"I'll leave Faustus City and never meet her again. If you lose instead, then stop chasing her skirt."

"Hmph, clean that dirty mouth of yours... Alright, I'll see what you're made of." Fredrick cracked his neck and glanced at Janette, who seemed to be worried about not being able to see her lover again.

This infuriated Fredrick to no end as he glared at the wedding crasher menacingly. The festive event was ruined, but he wanted to proceed since he had already pulled many strings for her to marry him.

He didn't technically 'force' Janette. It was just that he put pressure on her through their parents.

There was no one at all other against this marriage than the girl about to be married off. The young tyrant knew his methods weren't right. However, he believed she would one day thank him for this.

Fredrick gave orders to his family's employees entertain the guests as he took some of the most important figures to follow him downstairs from the outside venue. They went from a nice place on a skyscraper to a personal training facility he owned.

"Simon Wolfheart..."

"I call myself by the name Simon Driftwood now."

"Whatever. I'll teach how to know your place." A violet glow appeared in the young tyrant's eyes.

He activated his ability before the audience and exuded an oppressive pressure from his body.

Some might think that he was someone of a high position in the world and more used to beautiful things like happiness. No one would think that this youth was a tragic at all. Not even he did so as well.

All he did was stay blissfully ignorant of what he did not have... and why he had never known 'love'.

This is a tale about the Golden Tyrant's fall...
