Training

Brandon was taking his fifth class of the day. This was the most packed day of subjects he had. He doesn't know how many times he fell asleep and was woken up during class.

He was bored with all these theoretical classes and now even more motivated to join the Free Hunt.

"No way, I'm gonna go crazy if I stay here," he thought.

The days passed quickly, and this was already Brandon's fifth day at the academy. Things had gone smoothly, and he had managed to establish a better relationship with his classmates.

Although he was still a bit distant, he couldn't deny that he liked the feeling of having a friendship and someone to share with.

The artificial intelligence would be fully created at the end of the day. With nothing to do, he went to the mini coliseum to practice his martial arts before joining the Free Hunt. He had been training since he started creating the AI.

Although he had trained his body a lot in the past, it felt stiff because he had stopped his training. He wanted to perfect some movements, record in his mind how his body moves so he can use such movements in his way.

He had been practicing for a while when he heard some applause. "So you're here practicing, I waited for you and you didn't show up, do you think I'm not good enough to practice with?"

Brandon looked towards the mini coliseum's door and saw the coach standing there. He didn't know when he had arrived, but he seemed to have been watching him for a while.

Thinking about the coach's words, he felt a little embarrassed. He had completely forgotten that he would practice with his coach.

"How about some sessions now?" Brandon suggested.

"That's what I wanted to hear," the coach said with a big smile. "You can call me Ted, Coach Ted, and you young man, what should I call you?"

"Brandon," he replied without giving many explanations.

"Good, show me what you've got, attack me with weapons, fists, whatever you want," the coach said as he took a fighting stance.

Brandon thought for a moment and then walked to different places in the coliseum, which surprised the coach. He took two pistols, a spear, and a knife. Interestingly, he wasn't affected by the weight, still moving the same way.

"If you're not going to attack, it's fine, but at least I need you to dodge," exclaimed Brandon.

He immediately grabbed the spear and charged at the instructor. The instructor effortlessly dodged the attack. Although he was restricting himself to Brandon's level, he couldn't hide his combat experience.

As he moved his body to the left, he put on an expression of astonishment. Right next to him, the spear Brandon had used was spinning in the air without advancing, while he pulled out a gun and fired.

The instructor was able to successfully fend off Brandon's attack, but he had to exert a bit more effort, and wondered how Brandon had achieved such an effect with the spear.

Moving from left to right, the trainer dodged energy shots. Meanwhile, Brandon had retrieved the spear and was approaching the professor, restricting his steps with the shots and trying to lead him where he wanted.

Ted collided with a corner and realized he had concentrated so much on Brandon that he forgot about his surroundings. Brandon threw his weapons away and switched to a small knife.

The fastest way he could find to change his weapon was to get rid of the first one, but send it far enough away so that his enemy could not use it.

The trainer was surprised. If Brandon had continued to use his two guns, he could have hit him with one or two shots.

Brandon threw the knife at the trainer, who jumped to avoid the attack, as it was his best option. A small smile came from Brandon's lips, who took his spear from his back and attacked the air where the professor was.

Seeing such a maneuver, Ted could only continue to be amazed. These attacks were almost unpredictable because they had no technique behind them. It was as if Brandon acted on intuition.

He grabbed the tip of the spear and used it to move his body in the air and fall on the other side.

"That's not fair, if it were someone else with a physique like mine, they couldn't come out unscathed from that attack." Brandon said.

"Alright, alright, stop yelling like a kid, but you gotta know there's always gonna be someone stronger than you and you can't blame 'em for that," Ted said as he walked away.

Brandon thought about what Ted said and knew he was right, but quickly snapped out of his thoughts and asked, "Where are you going? Training's just getting started."

Ted looked at Brandon with discomfort. "I remembered I have other things to do."

Truth be told, Ted felt a little embarrassed. In the end, he had to use a bit more power to deal with Brandon's attack.

Sigh

Brandon put away the weapons he had used and left the room, heading straight to his dorm. The creation of the AI was about to be completed. Plus, after thinking about it, he didn't have to attach it to a rune or chip, he could just have it as a program on his screen interface.

[Naming the AI]

[NAME: _ ]

Brandon thought for a moment and decided to give it a name he really liked. "Lucifer."

["AI Lucifer" Created]

"Execute AI," he said with excitement, eager to see how powerful this AI was.

[*Hello, Master! *]

[I'll be your personal assistant from now on] *Smile*

"Oh, an AI with emotions. This power never ceases to surprise me," he said, talking to Lucifer.

[That's because the master's power goes beyond common logic,] said Lucifer.

"Wait, can you read my thoughts?" This AI was giving him a lot of surprises.

[I'm connected to the master, so I can. I can help the master with some functions, such as thinking of escape alternatives in a moment of urgency while the master thinks of other things.]

"We'll have to practice more again," he sighed. "For now, I'll go buy what's needed to go to the hunting area while we talk more about you."

Brandon noticed that a new option had appeared next to his skill. Curiously, he tapped it.

[Interface — Program — Create]

"So the system didn't see it as a new skill, but rather accepted it as an expansion of the awakened ability."
